      @@Scratchgolfacademy Your instructional videos have enhanced my golf game tremendously. What I appreciate most is you offer a foundation or baseline and encourage us to play with it a little and find what works best.
      I also appreciate that you never present lessons as a silver bullet to improve overnight. Golf is difficult. You give clear, simple instruction.

    I've stunk at driving my entire life adding loft, casting & flipping through impact, the "knuckles down" late in the video, along with the takeaway & turn, is the magic move I've never really known till you explained it so well😎

    As always great stuff. I have subscribed to you channel and signed for some of your courses and it has been great help. Thanks... One thing I am not clear entirely....Is "Knuckles down at impact" the same as "forearm rotation" that you consider "manipulative golf" and discourage? What am I missing?

    • @Scratchgolfacademy
      @Scratchgolfacademy  4 года назад

      Thanks Ramin.
      I'd say there is some correlation between the two, but what I'm referring to is what I believe is called palmarflexion. This is where your palm bends toward the underside of your forearm.
      Hope this helps.

  • @CollapseTheSunn

    I seem to be having better contact the less I move my hands and with my left foot open and about 4inchs back. Stance is no wider than my shoulders. This may not generate max power but the swing feels good. I'm trying to reintroduce the snap feel; but it's hard to do that when I'm not creating any lag.

    • @Scratchgolfacademy
      @Scratchgolfacademy  4 года назад +1

      Fair enough Michael. My recommendation, though, is to work on a swing that gives you power, and let contact work it's way in.

  • @Kridian01
    @Kridian01 4 года назад +1

    I always hear that, _"both _*_Vs_*_ created from your index and thumb should point to your right shoulder",_ but seeing most pros (Tiger @ 5:29) the trail grip 'v' is clearly pointing to his sternum. What's the accepted norm in this regard, or am I splitting hairs with this?
    Love the content! 👍🏌️‍♂️

    • @Scratchgolfacademy
      @Scratchgolfacademy  4 года назад +1

      No problem.
      There are several accepted grips, Tiger has preferred a weaker grip for most of his career, but for the everyday player I recommend more the right shoulder look. At the 'end of the day' it's about squaring the club face at impact, a little experimenting is a good idea.

  • @CKGolfer

    Adam, it seems that your "side bend" in the downswing contributes to that club path going "up" and the hand position you talked about. Am I correct?

    • @Scratchgolfacademy
      @Scratchgolfacademy  4 года назад

      CK,
      Yes, I agree. As the hips bump toward the target it creates side bend, critical for good driving.

    Great tip as always Adam. My challenge is to find the rythm without excessive flip of the wrist in the release. Maybe i should consider a driver with a heavier shaft/higher swingweight?

    • @Scratchgolfacademy
      @Scratchgolfacademy  4 года назад +1

      Magnus,
      Hard to say without seeing you swing. A little heavier might help, but (honestly) likely won't make a lot of difference. Best of luck with it just the same.

    • @Scratchgolfacademy
      @Scratchgolfacademy  4 года назад

    At what point in the downswing does your left hand/wrist turn under to square the club face?

    • @Scratchgolfacademy
      @Scratchgolfacademy  4 года назад

      Donald,
      I think there is some trial and error here, regards the feel you need. Ultimately the ball is the judge (assuming solid contact, no wind), if it's going pretty straight you are timing it correctly. That said, most slicers need to start this feel a good bit earlier in their downswing.
      best, Adam

    hi iam from korea. i always thank you for good teaching.(iam sorry. i am no good english)

    in korea, body turn swing is very popular. but very difficult and painful to me T.T

    • @Scratchgolfacademy
      @Scratchgolfacademy  4 года назад

      Thanks for the note. I think it's fine to whip the club. There just needs to be enough body motion to make it powerful and repeatable.
