Made up my mind a couple years ago after a year of trying to play!! Decided to follow one instructor !! Thankfully it was you. You explain so well and complete it with try it and experiment for yourself Most important Have Fun.!1 Thank you so much.
You're such a good instructor, Adam. It all comes together eventually and the number one thing you said "It's fun out here." That's what it's all about!
@@Scratchgolfacademy Your instructional videos have enhanced my golf game tremendously. What I appreciate most is you offer a foundation or baseline and encourage us to play with it a little and find what works best. I also appreciate that you never present lessons as a silver bullet to improve overnight. Golf is difficult. You give clear, simple instruction.
I've stunk at driving my entire life adding loft, casting & flipping through impact, the "knuckles down" late in the video, along with the takeaway & turn, is the magic move I've never really known till you explained it so well😎
Thanks Adam. Keep those videos going my friend. You and Clay Ballard are the best to be honest. I've learned alot watching your great videos on youtube. Cheers
Great video as always Adam!!! Your SGA lessons have helped me tremendously!!! I managed to get an evening round in this week at a shorter Par 68 course...managed to score a 70!!! Not perfect with some misfires, but managed my game well in my opinion. Thanks again!!! Best Regards.
This is really great and believe it will help me with my game. Never had a class been playing since 1995 going from upper 100 now mid 90's then the bad days kick in.
Great stuff Adam ,, ty,, I've never seen that power move in backswing like that before awesome!!! Hey what can I say started playing seriously 3 years ago!!! Great coach Adam ty again!!!
As always great stuff. I have subscribed to you channel and signed for some of your courses and it has been great help. Thanks... One thing I am not clear entirely....Is "Knuckles down at impact" the same as "forearm rotation" that you consider "manipulative golf" and discourage? What am I missing?
Thanks Ramin. I'd say there is some correlation between the two, but what I'm referring to is what I believe is called palmarflexion. This is where your palm bends toward the underside of your forearm. Hope this helps. All the best, Adam
The key statement to me that made it sink in was if you are breaking tees you and hitting into and not up.... great thought to remember.... great tips, thanks again.
Fun is the key word till you get in the Tall timber 4 holes straight, then its ^&%$#(), thanks for the great videos. I'm trying to play again after years of not playing.
I seem to be having better contact the less I move my hands and with my left foot open and about 4inchs back. Stance is no wider than my shoulders. This may not generate max power but the swing feels good. I'm trying to reintroduce the snap feel; but it's hard to do that when I'm not creating any lag.
I always hear that, _"both _*_Vs_*_ created from your index and thumb should point to your right shoulder",_ but seeing most pros (Tiger @ 5:29) the trail grip 'v' is clearly pointing to his sternum. What's the accepted norm in this regard, or am I splitting hairs with this? Love the content! 👍🏌️♂️
No problem. There are several accepted grips, Tiger has preferred a weaker grip for most of his career, but for the everyday player I recommend more the right shoulder look. At the 'end of the day' it's about squaring the club face at impact, a little experimenting is a good idea. All the best, Adam
Great tip as always Adam. My challenge is to find the rythm without excessive flip of the wrist in the release. Maybe i should consider a driver with a heavier shaft/higher swingweight?
Magnus, Hard to say without seeing you swing. A little heavier might help, but (honestly) likely won't make a lot of difference. Best of luck with it just the same. Thanks, Adam
@@Scratchgolfacademy it's a hard thing to prove for sure. I wish I could share it. No one believes it or understands it. My drives are my most reliable shot. Like shooting free throws. Keep posting.
Donald, I think there is some trial and error here, regards the feel you need. Ultimately the ball is the judge (assuming solid contact, no wind), if it's going pretty straight you are timing it correctly. That said, most slicers need to start this feel a good bit earlier in their downswing. best, Adam
hi iam from korea. i always thank you for good teaching.(iam sorry. i am no good english) How do you think about whipping swing??(Using hand, wrist more than body). in korea, body turn swing is very popular. but very difficult and painful to me T.T
Thanks for the note. I think it's fine to whip the club. There just needs to be enough body motion to make it powerful and repeatable. I hope this helps. All the best, Adam
@@Scratchgolfacademy thanks Adam. Grip is good I can go stronger it with same results. Didn't use to do this but been stuck for a few seasons now, I assume I'm coming over the top somewhat but not sure why. Anyways thanks for taking time out I appreciate it 🙂

My speed (these days) is close to 100, carry varies according to conditions etc.

Fair enough Michael. My recommendation, though, is to work on a swing that gives you power, and let contact work it's way in.

Nice one Adam! I've be been watching your videos for so long now I need you to do one -'how to take yards OFF your drive' 👍🏌💥💨⛳ 👏
First person that's asked for that!

Adam, it seems that your "side bend" in the downswing contributes to that club path going "up" and the hand position you talked about. Am I correct?
CK,
Yes, I agree. As the hips bump toward the target it creates side bend, critical for good driving.

Great video Adam! Your swing looks so smooth and easy. What clubhead speed are you getting with your driver?
Thanks Ray. I haven't measured it in a while (too depressing), but 97-99 mph is likely about it.

The disassociation I find at the top of my swing is when I loosen my grip before I start my downswing.
Sounds fine to me. Likely it's not really happening, but that's OK, stick with it Marty.

At what point in the downswing does your left hand/wrist turn under to square the club face?

Seems all I can do with this club is hit a weak fade, dunno what I'm doing but until I fix that... 🤷🏿♂️
Michael,
I'd check the grip, then work on getting the club face to close in the downswing.
Hope this helps.
