Worked on forearm rotations with a club in hand to help get the feeling of squaring the club face; I treated this like a workout and did a ton of sets and reps at a time. Went to the range today and what a world of difference in ball contact, distance, and flight. I was/still am hooking the crap out of the ball, but I think it’s because I’ve been so used to compensating with my upper body to keep the ball in play. Messed around and felt like I was pushing the club out to 1st base while maintaining the “club squaring drill” and striped several with a slight draw. Needless to say, this works! Just have to keep up with the drills and know that things won’t be perfect the first several range sessions. Thanks, Adam! Will have to hit you up if I find myself on a vacation in Florida.
There you go again Adam providing excellent instruction and content. With being stuck inside I'm starving for golf. Your videos are helping me survive the quarantine time. In garage working on my game. Thanks for your great videos.... - JMR
I really like every one of your videos that I have watched. I am a really good slicer, but every once in a while, I hit one straight, always wondering what I did to hit it straight? I'm learning a lot from you. Can't thank you enough.
Excellent video! Where in the swing do you snap your wrist? Do you try to time it with contact? When the downswing starts? Just exactly when does this “ snapping” of the wrists occur?
Thanks Daniel. Ideally, as late as possible, but you have to get the club square at impact. As in other things in the golf swing, playful practice will help you dial in what works for you. All the best, Adam
Thanks. At www.scratchgolfacademy.com I did sets of videos on 'off season' practice. There is are 3 sets of videos where I'm joined by an expert in golf specific training, I think you'd live it. All the best, Adam
Thanks Edward. Yes, just released 'Golf IQ' which is a set of 4 video courses dealing with all aspects of the mental, or intelligence side of becoming a good player. All the best, Adam
I am still slicing with these tips & I can tell it's open club face still even when starting closed. When I close it more, I keep topping the ball. Any tips to fix these issues? Thanks Adam.
When placing the driver shaft in your lead hand, should the face be square, hooked, or should you let the driver naturally sit on the ground and then place in your lead hand?
My ball usually goes left to right, but when it hits the ground it goes wildly to the right with the spin. Why is there so much spin on the ball & will whipping club help that?
@@Scratchgolfacademy my apologies, I meant Sir Joseph. Wow, what an amazing ancestor to have. Such a visionary. All the best and thanks for sharing your insights through your excellent RUclips channel
The primary reason is that the ball curves more (assuming same impact conditions) when the club has less loft. It’s the physics of it, without a long boring explanation Best, Adam
Thanks. Thanks, Adam , for helping me a lot. Good tips.
You’re welcome Oscar

I think 2:50 to 3:00 is the best part of this helpful video. And 6:30 to 7:00 is great as well. Thanks!

Thanks very much Gary! I’m guessing you squared the club face up through impact on the good ones.

You are a great teacher!

Hi how are you doing, i hope you are safe and in good health.
Interesting. I tend to correct a slice with a more baseball bat swing, but that snap of the steering wheel Is worth investigating. Thanks.g
Thanks Greg, hope you make progress.

Fixed my slice thanks towel is correct is it more of whip then drag. Thats what my problem was ...
Glad to hear you made progress.

Nick do slower and smaller scale until you can get face closed. I’d look at one or two of the grip videos at this channel also
Thanks
When placing the driver shaft in your lead hand, should the face be square, hooked, or should you let the driver naturally sit on the ground and then place in your lead hand?
Yes Gary, that's what I recommend. I have full courses, including the grip in detail at www.scratchgolfacademy.com

My ball usually goes left to right, but when it hits the ground it goes wildly to the right with the spin. Why is there so much spin on the ball & will whipping club help that?
Closing the club (so face is aimed more left at impact) will help.

Is that a lag shot driver leant against the bag?
Yes, it's a LagShot driver.
Thanks for watching the video.

Great video as ever Adam. Have to ask though, are you a descendant of the Victorian civil engineer and public health hero Richard Bazalgette?
Ayjay,
Thanks. Sir Joseph was my great great grandfather (my middle name is Joseph).

do shafts matter that much?
They do Neil, but they won't cure a big slice.

I know I play better with neutral grip but my natural grip is a bit strong.
Hope you can sort it out Glenn.

The key for me always drawing the ball has been the stance. Closed slightly like in a batter's box. Thanks Adam
Thanks Anthony.

Here’s my question. I’m able to hit my fairway woods “straight”, when it comes to my driver(wtf) 90 percent slice!!! Why
The primary reason is that the ball curves more (assuming same impact conditions) when the club has less loft. It’s the physics of it, without a long boring explanation
