I love that the Wolfman is practical and not CGI. It sticks with the old school vibe.
Not only that. Practical effects look infinitely better than any cgi ever could
exactly, not like the UnderWorld werewolf that are completely CG, I like this design
@@JB-wy8fc eeeehhhh
I love how his name is Jack Russell
It really fits the 1930's horror movie style.
The tag-line for Man-Thing in the comics was
"Those who know fear burn at the Man-Thing's touch!"
I love that the Werewolf's name is Jack Russell... as in Terrier!
Thanks for clearing that up.. cause we didn't know what a jack Russel was already..

Natalie: It's a powerful thing.
Me looking directly into imaginary camera: It's a... Man Thing
It's even a Giant Sized Man-Thing!
Natalie, it is indeed a powerful thing, to see your hair with bangs again.
Man Thing is Marvel! The film about him sucked back in 2004.
Nothing says "I'm friends with a werewolf" better than having Ted grab a change of clothes on his way out.
Werewolf by night was so refreshing and different from anything marvel put out this year. And michael giacchino did an amazing job as director and composer. I hope he starts to direct more films in the future.
It sounds like the current director for Blade may be on the way out. Giacchino could be a decent replacement.
Maybe Blade or the Midnight Sons. I’d like to see a team consisting of Blade, Moon Knight, Agatha Harkness, Black Knight, Elsa Bloodstone, Werewolf By Night, & Man-Thing. Maybe Wong could be the background figurehead who assembles the team.
Ghost Rider, Nightcrawler, or Magik can debut when someone leaves or gets killed off. Nightmare, Mephisto, or the Scarlet Witch would make a great horror villain. I’d love for it to be R-rated as well because the MCU having a mature/gory section of supernatural anti-heroes could be money.
He is definitely a talented man! Glad Marvel/Disney is allowing him to develop his creative career.
I mean to be fair, ALL of Phase 4 has been so refreshing and different compared to the previous Phases. Definitely what the MCU needed, and WBN is near the top of the pack.
This was nice, a different take but I’m confused on the plot. Why were they trying to kill each other if the beast was going into the scared lands? How would killing themselves allow them to get the bloodstone from the beast
The werewolf look was very reminiscent of Universal’s “The Wolf Man” from 1941 starting Lon Chaney, Jr. the funny thing about that movie is when he transforms, his clothes magically change as well. Just something they thought no one in 1941 would notice I guess.
Really? IIRC Larry Talbot (Lon Chaney Jr.) just seemed to wear the same clothes as the Wolf Man that he wore before he transformed. He didn't bulk up, just grew fur and fangs etc.
@@danieldickson8591 nope. If you watch his clothes change completely. Like a dark dress shirt and pants.

@@Clownboy15 It's like the white hats and black hats in other movies around that time, you notice people wearing darker clothes when acting monstrous in human form too.
The design of the werewolf is both accurate to the Marvel comics and the old Universal werewolf movie: Around the 80s, as costumes, make-up and practical effects (And later special effects) got better, werewolf designs became animalistic and wolf-like in design, but in the old days of cinema, the design was very much what you saw here and survived for a long time; that is why, if you watch movies like the1941 *The Wolf Man* movie, or it's 2010 remake, or other movies such as *Teen Wolf* (1985) or *The Monster Squad* (1987), you will find their designs of werewolves to be similar to this one (It's usually when the movie genre leans less in the comedic and goes more into the horror that scarier, monstrous wolves design like in *Underworld* (2003) or *Ginger Snaps* (2000) or *The Howling* (1981) and others where you'll have the more wolf like heads/faces)
I see you haven't read any werewolf by night comics. You couldn't be any more incorrect.
@@WheresWaldo05 The early comics do have the old school look. But later variations have him with the large wolf like appearance. He isn't incorrect though.
@@shreknet I've read them all including all midnight sons issues
@@WheresWaldo05 So what is your point? He just stated the original Jack Russell Werewolf design was very much more humanoid. And not elongated with the snout and such. He's just sending out an education on the history of the character in relation to the history of cinema
@@shreknet his first appearance was in marvel spotlight #2. And his face was much more wolf like than the mcu special presentation. Thats what i am saying.
Nat: has a soft spot for werewolves, not sure why.

I love that the guy playing Jack, (Gael García Bernal) also voiced Héctor in Coco. He was great in both.
Can’t believe I didn’t recognize that!
He's great in EVERYTHING!
I did recognize his voice. I looked up his career after this and he is EXTREMELY accomplished. And charming to boot. 😉
@@kimm6589 He charmed my pants off playing Jack as soon as he took off his tie to wrap Elsa's leg.
You should definitely check out Motorcycle Diaries. He played young Che Guevara.
Something I loved about this special was how Jack is not the quippy overly confident marvel protagonist, he is more vulnerable and more honest with who he is.
Completely incompetent as well.
Compare how he walks through the maze with the others stalking through the maze and obviously the explosive.
@@jspettifer well to be fair, he is not a fighter nor a "killer" in the traditional sense. This is basically if a regular guy got put into this situation, because he is a regular guy.
@@jspettifer
incompetent or out of his depth? if he was incompetent he wouldn't have been able to fool a group of "professional monsters hunters" into thinking he's one of them. if anyone's incompetent they all are.
Because her father had the Bloodstone at the time of her conception Elsa inherited a portion of it’s power into her blood. That’s why she was able to shrug off getting her head bashed into that part of the maze. She isn’t Hulk or Thor levels of durable, but she is well above a normal human even without the Bloodstone. Having the Bloodstone itself substantially increases that along with her other gifts.
Fun fact: In the comics because of her inherent gifts from the Bloodstone Elsa is immune to vampirism and her blood can actually cure it.
Fun Fact, Jack and Ted's relationship is super cute because anything afraid of Ted burns when he touches it (its a curse). So when Jack feels Ted's hand he's not even a tiny bit afraid.
“Those who know fear burn at the touch of Man-Thing” It’s his whole schtick
The original "Werewolf by Night" comic had a very conventional old fashioned werewolf design, inspired by the likes of Lon Chaney Jr. in "The Wolf Man" (limited of course by the prosthetics of the time, basically a hairy human face). Which works out pretty well here since this is also an homage to Universal horror movies. I think some modern comics have reinterpreted him as a more modern werewolf with a "wolfy" head.
Fun fact: in the comics, Elsa Bloodstone is currently married to Deadpool.
How is that going?
@@jamalbayliss8523 Better than Deadpool and Siryn so far at least.
Werewolf design looks great the actors face is still noticeable and all the practical makeup looks cool and his face markings are visible 🌕🐺
In the character's early comic days he looked basically like he does here. In more modern times they depicted him as more wolflike. Basically a giant wolf standing like a man.
This was a badass, excellent, brutal, and creepy Marvel Studios special. I loved King Kong(1933), The Wolf Man(1941), Creature from the Black Lagoon(1954), Poltergeist(1982), and The Twilight Zone influences in Werewolf By Night. I also loved Jack Russell and Ted" Sallis's friendship. Michael Giacchino did a great job directing and composing this special. Jack and Elsa have fantastic chemistry. Werewolf By Night, Elsa Bloodstone, and Man-Thing are all badass. The deaths in this special were terrific. The transition from black and white to color at the end was marvelous.
Werewolf by Night has another form. The one in here is the "forced transformation" form, where he looks like a humanoid wolf. This is the form he uses when he needs to use his powers for doing good or combat. Then he has the "full moon" form, which is more savage like the Hulk with no control. That is more Wolf-Like form that you wanted. Like he said, He locks himself up during the full moon in order to not hurt anyone.
The werewolf makeup in this is very similar to the horror films of the 30's and 40's. I thought it was a nice homage.
Fun little fact: The transformation scene was done with practical effects in-camera. Giaccino said - "It took months to make that work, because it was all done in-camera, too. That whole shot, that's not a VFX shot. It was crazy to try and sort that out. The only thing that was not on set when we shot it were the bars. We had to add those in later because of the way where the projector was projecting the shadow of the transformation."
His description of months of work almost made it sound like CGI would have been cheaper. I love it when they can succeed with practical effects.
@@testfire3000 You kinda summed up why modern CGI is beginning to fail. It actually looks 'cheaper'. There's something endearing about practical effects, even when imperfect, because you know that time, effort, and artistry went into making it.
I love how this was pretty much a love letter to the old school monster movies such as 'The Wolfman'. The old school vibe really stands out and I'm so glad they went this direction rather than something more sinister looking. Sometimes less is more and I think it works so well for this special. I hope Marvel does more things like this because it was so refreshing and fun. I've watched it like 3 times already and I just really enjoy it.
Whatever knows fear, *burns* at the Man-Thing's touch!
I found this special presentation an unexpected delight. ☺️
Marvel has a solid selection of horror titles, in addition to the superheroes it's best known for.
Both Man-Thing and Moonknight first appeared in Werewolf by Night, while Blade first appeared in Morbius, I think.
If you want a fun, campy werewolf film, with questionable acting, see, "The Howling," from 1981.
If you want a solid horror film with a unique story, well written and excellently acted, watch, "Wolfen," released the same year.
The Howling, as a more traditional werewolf film, overshadowed Wolfen, but the latter was the (much) better movie.
Blade first appeared in Tomb of Dracula.
Man Thing first appeared in Savage Tales, as the other comment said Blade first appeared in Tomb of Dracula, but yeah Moon Knight's first appearance was in Werewolf by Night #32 and they had a lot of Team Ups since them
He wasnt looking at the busts as a fearful thing as to his possible future, he was looking for tactical spots to hide and attack from as displayed later on in the special
I liked the special as it was a throwback deviation to the classic horror. Being an old school comic reader, what took the cake was the appearance of Man-Thing! This was a love letter to horror comics and movies from the 70's back to the 50's. It was really refreshing. It was coming from the right place and done properly as a tribute.
This was a great Halloween Special from Marvel! 10/10 for me! Hope you like it 🙏🏽
I think people more often than not have sympathy for werewolves as in a traditional sense are simply humans with a curse. In MOST stories they don't want to be that way. The story arc of the werewolf in Monster Squad is a great example of that.
Y'know, the Hulk is a werewolf story. In the original comics Banner turned into Hulk at night. They retconned that into his trigger being anger/fear later on.
The transition from black & white to color mirrors the transition of the bloodstone wielder from the black & white, good vs evil nature of the hunters before (which is the old-school monster genre) to Elsa's more nuanced stewardship, where not all monsters must be killed - starting with Jack and Ted (Man-Thing, btw), who had their monster self imbued upon them, and not evil in their natures.
It's interesting that Jack was known to have 100 "deaths," but the others had "kills" It makes more sense now knowing he's the werewolf. Did you catch during the credits that it shows Aunt France's hand coming out of her tomb? I wonder if she came to life. Hmmm. I find interesting that when Jack was asked if sniffing a person's scent actually protected them, he replied "once," with.a slight gesture of sorrow, like maybe it was a long-lost loved one. Although, you preferred him to look more wolf-like, I think they were going for an old-timey look, like when they started making these kinds of horror movies, hence the black-n-white treatment. Thanks, Nat! This was fun!
DEFINITELY need to see the old Universal "The Wolf Man". Still by far my favorite iteration. Lon Chaney Jr just brings this tragic sense to the role and does great.
That laugh was shades of Doctor Evil from Austin Powers. It's cool that the lead actors of two Disney series Werewolf By Night and Andor are Mexican. Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna met on a movie called Y Tu Mama Tambien (And Your Too). Ted's monster name is Man-Thing
5:30: “Is he lying? Why do I feel like he’s lying? Feels like he’s got something to hide.”
Well, technically, both of those things are true.
That opening was pure Gold.
Nice pun😏
Jack Russell (I always want to say a terrier after his name) and Elsa I believe were a thing in the comics. Not sure they’d go that route for the MCU.
The reason he looks the way he does is because the comic book character is based on the classic Wolfman from Universal.
I used to read the comic as a kid but I hardly remember very much. I like that they stuck with the wolf-man look even though I prefer a more Howling-like or Dog-Soldiers-like werewolf.
So for those wondering, Ted is the monster called Man-Thing. He used to be a scientist, but as the monster he's still himself but now more...simple minded, so to speak. Him and Jack are both from ye olden days of Marvel comics when they did stuff with classic horror monsters, Man-Thing, Werewolf By Night, Tomb of Dracula etc. The Bloodstone family are basically like the Belmonts of the Marvel universe and Elsa is kind of like a blend of Black Widow and Buffy.
The team these days is called Midnight Sons and often includes Blade and Moon Knight.
I absolutely loved this movie, not knowing what to expect, and was pleasantly surprised
I could not figure out where I had seen the older woman before. It just hit me she was in an episode of The XFiles where she plays two different characters that are clones. She’s a great character actor.
Wouldn't say underrated. As it seems the overwhelming reaction from folks is that it's amazing! To which of
I'd fully agree.
1: love the Natmares title at the beginning!
2: I really appreciate that they didn’t weigh this whole special down with world-building or extensive lore. Here some monster hunters, here are some monsters. Fight. Makes it nice and chill for new viewers and for more knowledgeable fans it skips all the stuff we already know and gets to the fun.
Absolutely! I am a long time Marvel fan but didn't have the $$ to be buying every comic they printed. So I was mostly X-Men and Avengers. Moon Knight & Werewolf by Night were two related titles that I don't think I ever read. But they brought them both to life on screen SO well!
I would love it if Disney+ made an annual Halloween tradition of a spooky show, maybe bring one or more of these characters back each year. Moon Knight deserves a second season, although I have been hearing rumors of a team up movie. I don't know if that is official or just rampant wishful thinking.
I also love how they still were able to introduce a new character in a smooth way and that was Man-thing which was Ted. They didn't just make a whole movie about him and all!
@@J0NVS. Jack, Elsa and Ted all three new characters introduced in such a cool short show. Smooth, as you say! I love it!
@@J0NVS. "They didn't just make a whole movie about him and all!"
There is already a Man-Thing movie that came out in 2005. One of, if not the, first movies to have the red Marvel title card at the beginning, if I recall correctly.
If you like werewolf features then you should watch Dog Soldiers for something different but super cool.
Something also very different (but in another way) is Brotherhood of The Wolf.
Probably someone has mentioned that Ted is called "Man-Thing"
Fun fact: In the 80s, Marvel had a line of comics called "Giant Size" issues. (They had 4x pages of a normal comic)
This lead to the most unintentionally funny title of all time, and as young tween boys, we would go to comic shops and always ask the guy behind the counter:
"Excuse me sir, but do you have a Giant-Sized Man-Thing?"
It's absolutely WILD that Michael Giacchino both directed this, AND that this was his directorial debut.
More one-off specials for the right characters should be the way to go! Blade, Moon Knight, Black Knight, Elsa, Man-Thing, Werewolf by Night with Ghost Rider and hopefully at least a couple more bad-ass female characters should be the Midnight Suns Team that forms the horror corner of the MCU that could either be its own thing or connects to the rest of the MCU.
I think you would have a LOT of fun reacting to Werewolves Within from 2021. It is a horror-comedy (heavier on the comedy than the horror) where a town gets snowed in, and one of the residents may be a werewolf. It is hilarious, and the mystery of who could be the werewolf is actually very well done and compelling
That sounds like fun! I will hunt around the streaming services to see if it is available anywhere.
Been watching horror movies for 34 years (since I was 4) and nothing has scared me since I was a small child, but your natmare musical intro gives me the the chills for some reason! Bravo!
As you may have guessed by the screen name, I'm a huge fan of werewolves. The one used here is a classic style, more "Universal Monsters" style wolfman. My favorite werewolf LOOKS (not necessarily the best movies) are the ones from "Underworld" and "Van Helsing." I think the movie version of Lupin in Harry Potter was too gangly and, frankly, hairless.
the Van Helsing one was terrifying!!
tbf your screen name would just make me think you're a doctor who fan ^^
Love the Underworld ones, Van Helsing was great too, but it's only 1 movie. So I am happy we have 5 from Underworld! Lupin looked a bit funny to me.
I wasn't a fan of the Lycans from Underwold tbh (they looked more rat-like than wolf-like imo), & I hated Lupin's hairless werewolf form, but I *loved* the werewolf design from Van Helsing lol.
My personal favourite werewolf form is probably the one from Goosebumps tho tbh (w/ Van Helsing at a close second).
I also don't mind partial wolf forms (i.e. Teen Wolf, Dark Shadows, Grimm, etc) or full wolf forms lol (i.e. Twilight, TVD, Bitten, Shadowhunters, etc).
He was modeled after the old comic book look. Moon Knight was introduced in his comic where they battled. I think Werewolf By Knight has been around since the early 70s. Also, Ted is called Man-Thing, another Marvel comic property. You may see more of them, Jack, Man-Thing, Elsa, since Marvel is moving into the more supernatural part of things, Moon Knight, Blade, I will assume Ghost Rider, etc.
The song playing during the color saturation, "Over the Rainbow," is a nod to Wizard of Oz when the movie goes from black and white to color. Someone had to point that out to me, but I did really love it as an almost symbol to "We now return you to your normal Marvel programing," especially with two notable marvel characters casually talking back and forth at the end of the picture.
Ted/Man-Thing plays a big support role in marvel universe and comics, with a very interesting origin and insight to the large cosmic, so we might see him in the future. Jack/Werewolf by Night might play a bigger role in the Blade-led Midnight Suns. Even Elsa Bloodstone joins a team with Monica Rambeau/Spectrum/Photon/Pulsar/Captain Marvel in a team called Nextwave. Could see them on Disney+ like Defenders were on Netflix.
In Werewolf By Night (the comic) Jack's appearance was based on the old Universal "Wolfman" with Lon Cheney Jr.
"Ted" - better known as "Man-Thing" - guards the Nexus of Realities in the Florida Everglades. The tag-line for his comic was "Whatever knows fear burns at the touch of the Man-Thing".
Lots of people think Man-Thing is Marvel's rip-off version of DC's Swamp Thing, but Man-Thing's first comic appearance is two months before Swamp Thing's.
The two artists who created Man Thing and Swamp Thing we're roommates in New York at the time, thus the similarities.
Loved the inclusion of Ted/Theodore Sallis/Man-Thing! Best Marvel horror tag-line: "WHOEVER KNOWS FEAR BURNS AT THE TOUCH OF… THE MAN-THING"
"Whatever knows fear burns at the Man-Thing's touch!"
I loved this special so much. Defiently a Universal Monster movie in my eyes. It was so epic
It's nice to see the return of your bangs. They really accentuate your face.
Speaking of faces, that beast makeup for Jack is reminiscent of the 1941 movie The Wolfman, starring Lon Chaney Jr. Werewolf by Night deliberately evokes the style of the classic Universal Studios monster movies, e.g. Frankenstein and Dracula.
Love your reactions. Speaking of Marvel and Vampires, BLADE (1998) is another movie I highly recommending reacting to ASAP. Features some stellar action sequences and an incredible performance by Wesley Snipes.
I agree she would love blade. Plus. Ryan Reynolds is in trinity soo even better
They're doing a new Blade. Just wait for that one.
@@andrewgrant6516 why wait watch both
@@andrewgrant6516 Or do both?
I was more impressed with this than I thought I'd be. My favorite werewolf design is still Van Helsing, but still this is is enjoyable. And for the record, every time I hear a reactor watching the scene where Jack is planting the bomb and they say "Put it in the crack!" I can't but go, "That's what she said." lol
Cant wait to watch after work and I agree this film is def underrated
"EVEN A MAN WHO IS PURE OF HEART AND SAYS HIS PRAYERS BY NIGHT MAY BECOME A WOLF WHEN THE WOLFBANE BLOOMS AND THE AUTUMN MOON SHINES BRIGHT"- MALEVA THE GYPSY
Dr. Theodore "Ted" Sallis is called Man-Thing and is a character that was created by Stan Lee, Roy Thomas, and Gerry Conway, plus artist Gray Morrow. It was once a person but through scientific and magical means, was turned into the Man-Thing. "He" lives in a swamp where realities converge, so you'll probably be seeing him again in future Marvel films and series. For many many years fans of Man-Thing have been wanting a film, so it's a big surprise to suddenly see him pop up in this.
I loved that Jack's name was Jack Russel, which is the best name for a werewolf ever
It was fun visiting with my old friends, Ted Sallis and Jack Russell (Oh, yes, you did hear me right!). Man-Thing and Werwolf by Night were fun books in the 70s. A little note concerning Ted's powers... Those who know fear burn at the touch of the Man-Thing (Sounds like a PSA for an STD... 8/)
I like the aesthetic of the whole production. From the wardrobe and art deco of the old 30-40s Universal Monster films to the stylized monster trophies and Jack's make-up reminiscent of the creatures from The Outer Limits and The Twilight Zone of the early 60s.
Marvel's going to do a horror storyline called Midnight Sons and featuring Doctor Strange, Blade and (I think) Ghost Rider... It would be great if, Jack, Ted and Elsa would all drop by...
Cheers!
Michael Giacchino is a solid director
This was so fantastic! The soundtrack alone makes it worth watching. I downloaded it and am playing it with other horror and Halloween themed soundtracks. I loved your reaction, which was great to see you have fun after what you went through with Hereditary.

I hope Michael Giacchino makes a full on black and white theatrical film with elsa bloodstone, werewolf by night and manthing like id love a movie based on characters like the Legion of Monsters or the Midnight Sons
Werewolf by night that’s how you start a dark universe
I think this is one of the best Marvel offerings to date, whether for movies or TV (I guess it's somewhere in the middle). I want to see more of these characters, and I really hope that they bring on the same director for any more that they do, because it came out great. Diving into the Marvel monster titles from the '70s was long overdue, and they certainly did an excellent job of it. (Could Frankenstein, Dracula, and Ghost Rider be next?)
Loved the intro!!
Man, the mention of the bloodstone just made me remember this series of vampire movies my friends & I were into in the 90's called "Subspecies". They were solid b-tier horror movies, not very scary, but they had super fun make-up and effects.
I'm really glad they stuck with the comic correct / period appropriate look for Jack Russel / Werewolf by Night (the creator of the character claimed he didn't know it was a type of dog ) and they did a really good job on Ted / Man Thing his power which he has no control over is to burn anyone who he touches that know Fear.
I really enjoyed this and would love to see more of these characters there has been a rumour around for a while of a team up of the supernatural themed characters like Werewolf by Night, Blade, Man Thing and Mobius we'll have to wait and see after how badly She-Hulk shat the bed.
Yeah. It’s incredible. Honestly. Severely underrated little short. Less series, more specials.
The Werewolf By Night comic is where Moon Knight debuted
Nat should do these in different Halloween costumes, would take the series from 10/10 to 100/10 😀

I'VE BEEN SO OBSESSED WITH THIS MOVIE
The huge monster is called Man-Thing in the comics, mutated form of a scientist named Theodore "Ted" Sallis. This version is a lot more intelligent than the comic version, but what they have in common is, "Whatever knows fear burns at the Man-Thing's touch." You won't burn if you're not afraid of it. It has some similarities to DC Comics' Swamp Thing.
The Curls are GLORIOUS!!!!🤌🏾
Nearly 20 years ago, WBN was first announced as one of the next Marvel characters to be on film.
WBN almost started filming in the 2000s and then was it postponed.
Man-Thing (Ted or Ted Sallis) did get his own movie in 2005.
Then WBN was back in development during the jumpoff of Marvel Studios.
I've only imagined what it could've been years ago.
But it was better than thought of when it premiered.
Now how Jack Russell goes further into the MCU couid be an interesting journey.
Eventually we'll get to another team of heroes called Midnight Suns, which are basically Supernatural Avengers.
The attention to detail to make it look like an old b&w film was great, even down to the small white circles in the upper right-hand corner every ten minutes or so that use to signal projectionists to start the next reel of film in a few seconds so they could switch over to continue the film uninterrupted. Really hope we get a full series sooner rather than later. As burned out as I am on all the multiverse/quantam realm storylines, a new outlier series like this is fun.
the fact that this film sets in the latest timeline after the event of Thor 4 but has old films vibes, black and white and all that, felt weird but also nice and refreshing
This was amazing also I like this format not every character needs a movie or show definitely could see other characters getting this treatment
There will be another special, which will be on Christmas
The Christmas special will be The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special
But yeah there will be more specials done by Marvel, Werewolf by Night is just the start
As for Werewolf by Night's design, it's supposed to be more of a "The Wolf Man" design like the 30s/40s classic and the said design is also based on the comic
LMAO right when I talked about it
ruclips.net/video/OYhFFQl4fLs/видео.html
Elsa Bloodstone is basically influenced by Buffy The Vampire Slayer, as even her original design in the comics was that she's also blonde, but later on changed her to a red head to make her not looking like Buffy at all.. also a show/series you should definitely be, and hoping do a reaction of one day.
Thanks, great video as always.
loving the bangs coming back
I’ve been hyped for this since they announced Moon Knight lol.
We need these characters to form the team called Midnight Suns
Love your reaction and reviews, KEEP IT UP
Marvel has previously announced another Special, a Christmas Special featuring the Guardians of the Galaxy, set between Guardians 2 and Guardians 3. Many are also assuming with the success of Werewolf by Night that Marvel may have other Specials on the way as well.
Ted Sallis, aka Man-Thing, doesn't have fire powers, what he does is his body excretes a substance that burns anyone he touches if they feel fear towards him. He's actually extremely important as he's the protector of the entrance to the Nexus of All Realities, a doorway to a realm where you can access every Universe in the Multiverse, so it's likely we'll see him again in future Multiverse stories in the MCU.
Many are also assuming we will see Jack and Elsa again in the Blade movie, currently set to release September 2024, and that they may team up in a potential Midnight Sons project (a team comprised of various mystical/supernatural characters that deals with the mystical/supernatural side of Marvel) along with Moon Knight and other supernatural/paranormal based characters.
I hope we get a lot more like this and more of these characters. It's sorta one of my fav Marvel things to come out in a while. Simple... fun... just... good. I agree about the wolf look, but I like that it was an homage to the old wolf man. Best Werewolf is in Dog Soldiers... and also but very different, Wolf with Jack Nicholson.
Underrated? Heck I’ve been hearing nothing but praise for this which is definitely warranted!
Fun fact, the pyro tuba guy can often be found at Burning Man with the aforementioned tuba!
I love your personality. Subscribed!
Ole' Ted, always an unexpected surprise. Poor Ted is one of those magical/cosmic energy victims of the 50's-70's Marvel comics when energy exposure might give you superpowers instead of cancer (unless you are Captain Marvel I or Jane Foster). Some people get stretchy or turn invisible, some turn into rage monsters and poor Ted turned into a fear burning magical plant. Ted mostly hangs out with wizards but Jack is a good boy to hang out with...unless the moon is full.
This was so cute and fun! Had a wonderful time watching this with you! Happy Spooktober! :)
it really is underrated, michael gianchinno is a mastermind and it's the best phase 4 project imo, the set pieces, the cgi, the choreography, the music is so great and the shot choices when werewolf was becoming him was so great
This is awesome, I was giggling all the way through the intro!😁
As the comic line said in the old days “Whatever knows Fear BURNS at the Man Thing’s Touch!” Mwhahahahaaaaaa
The whole werewolf transformation like the way Jack looks when he transforms kinda reminded me of teenwolf in a way.
