  • I recently purchased the Intex Greywood Deluxe hot tub. Its winter here in Boston and I've been using it with no issues. I purchased it from Walmart for $349.00 but I've seen the price go up and down several times in a relatively short time frame. So keep an eye on it for the best price. Its also available on Amazon if you prefer to purchase thru them. One thing I forgot to mention during the video is that it also comes with a cool light that screws on to the inside of the tub and it does a great job at lighting up the water with a cool ambient vibe at night.

      I got it in mid-February 2020. Its been running great with no issues. I initially filled it about half way with hot water because it was cold and I wanted to speed up the process of heating it. Hi ... my Greywood Intex hot tub is leaking from the drain valve with little water. Is this normal or an issue? I tried opening the drain hole from inside the tub and reclosing it just to make sure it is secure. However, the outside drain valve always has water in it.

      rubensosatuub hi. Our son will be 3 next month. My wife took him in it a few times. I wouldn’t recommend they go in alone but it’s fine with an adult accompanying. I would recommend turning down the temp tho. 104 is way too hot for young children. My wife sets it around 98 when our son goes in with her. Lastly, be sure to bath or shower the kids after to rinse any chemicals off. Hope this helps.

    • @randomstuffwithjoe
      @randomstuffwithjoe  3 года назад

      I haven't typically had issues holding temps. But for some odd reason, last night it didn't. Its holding at 99 all night. But we had 10" of snow last night and some of it fell on the tub and melted.. and cold water pooled up on the cover. I'm gonna clear it off today and see how it does. Also, I need to put some air in the tub and cover. Its a little under inflated - due to the cold. I'm sure that has something to do with it too.
      Just a heads up. They make a insulated cover for it that covers the entire hot tub. I was going to buy it last year, but found I didn't need it at the time.

    Can you put chlorine tablets in the floating ball? And what exactly are the filters called that you need to replace every 2 weeks or so. (As mentioned in the video)

    • @randomstuffwithjoe
      @randomstuffwithjoe  4 года назад +3

      Hi. Yes, Chlorine tabs are ok too. I only chose Bromine because it doesn't have the strong odor that Chlorine has. I think Chlorine would require less frequent shock chemicals tho. So its a trade off. As for the filters... I think every two weeks is a bit over kill. I had to change my initial filters after the first two weeks.. but I suspect it was only because it was filtering the water for the first time. I've only had to change them every 5-6 weeks since the original filters. They can be found on Amazon. they're about $7 for a two pack.. or you can buy in bulk (12 packs) for a discount. Thx for watching.

But I've read several reviews that recommend changing them every 4-6 weeks. They're so inexpensive.. that I just do it to avoid any potential issues.

    • @randomstuffwithjoe
      @randomstuffwithjoe  4 года назад +2

      I doubt its your unit. My guess is the electrician put your outlet on a circuit that's already pulling too much juice or maybe its not grounded properly. Try running an extension cord from another outlet in the house and power it up. Also, the tub's power cord is GFI.. and has a reset switch. Did you try resetting it? Sounds like your electrician did something wrong to me.

    • @randomstuffwithjoe

      I think the video is deceiving. It’s not very loud. Unless your neighbors are closer than 10’ from the tub.. I doubt it would be audible to them. The sound of the water bubbling is more noticeable than the actual blower motor. We have a bedroom window right next to the tub and from inside the bedroom you can’t hear it at all.

      Hi. It’s been holding up great. I used it last night. I live in a fairly cold area during winter months and I’ve left it up all year. It struggles to stay above 100 degrees on days/night where the outside temps drop below 25 degrees or so. But it recovers back to 104 on days above 30.

    Thanks for putting this up! The guys in the shop told me I should use oyxgen as a sterilizer and not chlorine, has anyone else heard about that? I have read in the actual instructions that it is ok to use chlorine so I am not sure why they said that...

      Chlorine is fine. I use bromine tablets instead.. mostly because it doesn’t have a strong smell like chlorine does.

      I caught it during a sale and paid $349 with shipping included at Walmart. I've since seen the price go up several times and last I checked it was around $600.

      I've never had a problem so I'm not sure what you mean. I'd suggest calling their customer support if you're having a problem. Sorry I couldn't help.

      Hi Mitch, I have a question. So the other filter connection labeled C, does not have any water flow through it, does it really function as a filter? I know that others have said that it does not get nearly as dirty ( obviously because it's not passing water through it like the other one below the exit port. Also, the light also has the abilty to screw on to the port. There is nothing in the book or online that I can find. I was wondering if the light is supposed to be screwed onto the port that has no water flow and the 2nd filter is just a spare so you can alternate ? Just looking for some guidance as it's not in the manual. Thanks!

      @@brad9401 you screw the light to the outlet port ... it has threads as well ....
      as far as the c filter yes it gets less dirty but it does work . What i usually do is when the main filter gets real dirty i swap them ...
