I love my kitchen in the dark wee hours of the Chilly mornings. Lovely soft low lighting makes ALL the difference. I never understood how incredibly important having lights other than ceiling or high wall lights was in a kitchen. I knew I was missing something but didn't realize what it was ....soft, quiet, lovely, low lighting. Best best part about the home seasonal changeover, imo.
I love when you show days like this. Making a cozy breakfast by candlelight, how homey. Those kiddos are too cute helping with chores. It’s so wonderful to watch the boys come pulling up a chair at the work table every time you start to cook. Daniel is drinking from a regular glass...the time passes too fast. As much as I’d love the farm life, I would not even know how to take care of animals. I’d love to know how you learned so much!

I only found your channel about a week ago, but it has already made a material difference in my life. I have almost as many kids as you (😅) and have been trying to learn more from scratch cooking skills. I had a sourdough starter but not many ideas of what to do with it. But now I have so many things to try! I’ve done the English muffins twice now and my whole family is obsessed. I also did a skillet dinner which turned out wonderfully. A tip i was told and it's great, I keep a poo and pee bucket behind the cow so if she is going to go i can catch it with the bucket and save a lot of mess. And yes, my cow threatens me by putting her tail up lol.
I can’t wait to see the new baby. Oh and yesterday I made sourdough discard peanut butter cookies. I’m sick (normal sick not covid sick😉) so I couldn’t taste them lol. But my family said they were the bomb!! I used to just make bread and add it to discard. Now I’m venturing into more treats .

Have you ever done a breakfast bowl using sweet potatoes or yams instead of oatmeal? You can top it with nuts, raisins, apples, maple syrup etc. So good and filling too.
