A couple quick questions Lisa:-) what was the iron mat you were using? Where/ how do you store school stuff and crafts supplies? We have 6 creative people in the house and I often feel like home depot has a baby with joanns in our home. The rest of us are bibliophiles and the book amount is crazy!

I'm so thankful my mom celebrated valentines with us at home. We would wake up to a beautiful breakfast, with a card, chocolate, and little gifts at our spot on the kitchen table. And we always had little things to give friends at school. Valentine's is a weird holiday that makes people so sad and depressed, I think helping kids know that it can be about the love you have for family and friends can make it just a fun day rather than one to be grumpy about as an adult.

You made sewing those curtains with a pleat look so easy. I’m almost 73 years old and never learned how to sew patterns with zippers or buttons so many years ago I’d just sew using elastic casings for my skirts and tops. Advantage was as I grew it would stretch with me, lol! My mom was an expert seamstress and quilter but those genes never made it to me as I like all things easy. The pleating you showed is definitely at my level and will work for a project on my converted van. Thank you for your easy way of teaching not just with the sewing but especially with your sourdough starter. ❤️

I have 6 girls and 2 boys. The boys are 9 years apart. My oldest was so funny when we had the ultrasound. He came into the house for the reveal party and told me to just not tell him if it was another girl. 😂😂😂

Congratulations!! What a blessing! Both of my mother's grandmothers had large families and am so blessed to have many aunts, uncles and cousins. This is a happy blessing not many get to experience anymore, and I feel sad for them. Large families are truly special.

I hope somehow you are able to take a step back from your incredible workload to relax and spend more time for yourself and with your growing children, your stamina as a mother homemaker and breadwinner while pregnant or with a baby on your back for so many years is incredible but I'm sure is nothing short of exhausting. Your dedication is definitely an inspiration.

So funny! Country “ribs” are my fellas’ favorite and my husband and I love beef ribs (my 2 teens, not so much). I’d swap our rib racks for those country ribs if I lived next door.
I am also expecting (baby #4) this summer as we dive more into homesteading so I will definitely be catching upon videos and watching new ones on how to do all of this with an infant (my youngest is nearly 6 and this surprise blessing comes after I started down this more homemade road). We also homeschool and I’d love to know how you balance it all.

Country style ribs are actually really good if you slowly simmer them in your Sunday gravy (Italian tomato sauce). The meat breaks down and gets tender. Then you serve it over pasta.
We had grandbaby number 2 a little over a year ago and all I can see is the lifetime of joy and blessings you have ahead of you. 😊 Congratulations momma! 🥰

I think it’s wild that you have to clarify that you are excited about this baby! Every baby is a blessing and anyone who thinks otherwise can kick rocks! I’m sorry if people in this broken world try to make you feel bad. The good news is that a lot of those judgmental people aren’t having kids so hopefully most of the next generation are being born to parents who truly see their kids as blessing. I’m sorry it’s so frustrating That people make large families feel like they can’t shout their joy from the roof top. I am so happy for you!

Love that you try your best not to waste food, even if it’s eggs you don’t prefer or cuts of meat you don’t like. I think in our society we forget how much work goes into food and that it’s for sustenance first before enjoyment. We buy only the tastiest stuff from the grocery store. But living like that isn’t sustainable or practical.

As a grass fed farmer, a good way to cook country ribs is to dry rub them and cook them in the crockpot. Add barbeque sauce when serving them.

Beef ribs in the instant pot are fantastic, do a dry rub and just roll them up and pressure cook them
On 54 inch fabric I usually go with 5 pleats. 5 inch wide for the pleat and 4 inch for the space between. I start on one side and mark 4 inches line then measure 5 inches and draw line. Continue until you get to the other side. If they don’t measure out exactly, you can adjust. I also use binder clips to hold my pleats until I sew the pleat. Hope that helps.

I often use the beef ribs for stock. I roast the ribs and soup bones first, then boil it till meat is tender, pull off the meat and then keep boiling the bones. Meat is great for adding in soup.
