I purchased my smart soundbar about six months ago and several weeks later added the bass module (reconditioned). I could not be more pleased with this sound system. Very easy setup and extremely easy to use. The sound is rich and vibrant. I’m a classical music fan and love being able to boost the volume when listening to the 1812 Overture. Same goes for watching movies. There are times when I’m watching a movie and think there must be an explosion occurring in the area. Bottom line: Bose isn’t inexpensive, but if your priority is a quality sound system and you have the available funds, you can’t go wrong with this system.
This was not a review of the Bose smart soundbar. This was merely a description of its features. In this video the sound bar was not hooked up to a TV so we can listen to it. Basically the so-called reviewer was reading a script that was written by Bose. It was just a unboxing and explanation of the features.
One really cannot "hear" anything over RUclips. That is due not only to RUclips's terrible audio compression but also the fact that most folks are listening through an average pair of headphones at best. None of it is representative of the product at all. We have Bose products on display at every location. I highly recommend stopping by for a listen if you have any interest.
@@professorh8398 that’s what I was going to get…didn’t really want the big 700 on my 43” TV…not to mention the $750 price as opposed to the $350 for the Bose 300 refurbished directly from Bose.
I bought one of these, never could get the app to work to set the dialog. Im really disappointed with this thing. Who was the genius that thought it was a good idea to require a computer just to adjust tone. I finally had to put duct tape over the bass ports to get rid of the background rumble. I would never recommend this junk to anyone.
Hello Terry, while we no longer carry Bose products, I did search their website pretty extensively. I did not find information about Roku, so I suggest you try reaching out to Bose directly: support.bose.com/s/how-to-page?prodId=01t8c00000OydALAAZ&type=HowTo&language=en_US&category=setup&index=1. Please let us know how it turns out

I am disappointed with the brand. There is NO way that in years they will accept that they have a problem with the ARC in their equipment. I have owned and owned soundbars such as the ST300 and recently the Smart SoundBar 300. There is no way I can get sound from the TV as a source via HDMI cable.
Excellent review, I have the 700 and enjoy it very much with the added 700 base module. As a sidenote your voice, should be on TV, great voiceover opportunities!
Dropping a Klipsch R-20B. Mainly because it's too tall and audio issues driving me nuts. Specifically the beginning of dialogue cutting out. Apparently it has to do with my LG C8 OLED not liking the bar. I would definitely be getting the bass module. The better version, not the 300. Either 500 or 700. Will I be happy coming from the power of the Klipsch?? I think even a slight downgrade would be better than the audio cutoff of the Klipsch right now!
You may want to look at Sonos or something as Bose products are basically vaporware right now thanks to *ahem* "human malware" or that sickness going around that starts with a C.
@@GramophoneMD Thanks..I'm hoping to pick up a Soundtouch 300. If I can't find one, I'll just go for the new 700. I would go with the Sonos, but slim size is a must.
So I’ve got both the Bose Smart Bar 300, and the Yamaha YAS-109. Trying to decide which one to keep. If you have the space, screw sound bars, get Audioengine A2+‘s or the Audioengine HD3’s/HD4’s.
Got the Sonos beam for 2 hours, didn’t like it. Exchange it for Bose smart 300 and so far I am pretty happy with almost one week of use. Awaiting for the bass module to arrive to complete my system.
Bose soundbar500 is discontinued product now. I have it. the Soundbar is great can't be better, but the Bass module 500 is Crap with it's just 5 1/4 inch driver it is very much underpowered.

@@GramophoneMD You should at least make the attempt. I have a set of Bose QC 35 ii and I would’ve heard any sounds just fine.
Got one about a week ago, the bass is a little lower then I would like overall I would give it a strong B+
Not sure why Bose discontinued the 500.

Extremely comprehensive review! Thank you
:Literally found a 300 for 150 happy with mine

I just got this soundbar - and I have a Roku is it not compatible? I do have HDMI arc on my TV

i just purchased one and i am planning to buy a sub from any multimedia with aux input is that possible?
Exellent demo
Hi will this connect to my pair of Bose sound link revolve plus speakers
Is it possible to have 2 sources? Say the TV in HDMI and a CD changer in Optical?

You need an hdmi that says arc on it not regular hdmi to which you plug in ps4 etc. Hdmi arcs only come on smart expensive tvs
Can the soundbar connect with soundtouch 200 speaker?
Does this sound bar support Dolby Atmos & sorround sound or they are virtual?
Not really, it doesn't do much for Atmos with virtualization either.
Excellent review, I have the 700 and enjoy it very much with the added 700 base module. As a sidenote your voice, should be on TV, great voiceover opportunities!
Thank you Dale! I do a little VO on the side so this is wonderful compliment to me. I really appreciate it.

@@watchandjewelryloft4713 The Sonos Arc is very slim, slightly taller than the Bose but barely, I think it would fit the bill for you.
@@GramophoneMD I've seen both in person. The difference is pretty noticable.
How does this compare to the soundtouch 300?
The SoundTouch 300 is basically an old SoundBar 700 just without the smart features. It's been discontinued for a while now.
So I’ve got both the Bose Smart Bar 300, and the Yamaha YAS-109. Trying to decide which one to keep. If you have the space, screw sound bars, get Audioengine A2+‘s or the Audioengine HD3’s/HD4’s.
I went from the A2+ to the Bose 300 soundbar and missing good imaged audio. Soundbars are only for convenience.
Is the Yas 109 has same theatre sound quality?
Which one is better in your opinion ?
I just booted my Sonos Beam because it just didn't perform as expected. How's the Bose, is it able to carry a decent tune (my main use)?
Got the Sonos beam for 2 hours, didn’t like it. Exchange it for Bose smart 300 and so far I am pretty happy with almost one week of use. Awaiting for the bass module to arrive to complete my system.
The Soundbar 300 has superior center channel dialogue.
Just bought the Sonos Beam and am disappointed. I have Sonos One speakers and love them but the Beam is a disappointment. Thinking of trying the 300.
Can you tell me what the IR port is at the rear as there is nothing in the manual or on the website. Do you know.
Many products can accept IR command signals over 3.5mm connections for a reliable universal control setup.
No
Been debating on this and Yamaha yas 209... is the Bose more for the "smart" features ?
Buy both, compare and return whichever soundbar you don't like.
Both are good options.
Is the Bose Smart Soundbar 300 compatible with an aux cord?
I got this for Christmas, I ordered the 700 sub. Should I go with the invisible surround sound or the 700 surround sound?
The 700 surround is better but pricey!
I got the 700 rear speakers $500 there wireless but have to plug power in sounds great
What’s the difference between this one and the Bose 500 soundbar
