Owned a RS620 and sold it, but after a few weeks I really missed it. So I got myself a RS820 today, and couldn’t be happier. The Brushed Teal Blue looks killer.

Not surprised they're a great value. I sold off some stuff in the last couple years, and I'm looking for a new bass to replace one I sold. But, as a "guitarist that happens to play bass on occasion," I don't want to dish out the cash for a Dingwall or some vintage, Fender (or Fender-inspired) PJ-style 5-string. Yamaha... Yamaha is impressive. I just can't get over how good the sound and feature set of the Yamaha TRBX305 and TRBX505 models are vs. the competition, especially for the price.

I own the Japanese version & it’s totally brilliant. My main guitar is Fender 61 custom shop which I love but needed a 2 HH & managed to get the Rev on trade. Yamaha’s quality is top notch regardless of it being made in Japan or Indonesia. You just can’t go wrong whichever you go for. Nice demo btw 👍

Just because a pickup has A5 mags doesn’t automatically make it higher output than a pickup with A2. The winding pattern, number of winds, wire size used, etc, all contribute to the output. Seth Lover’s original spec for PAF pickups was A5. Sounds great!

Sounds great. Seems to have a ton of fans these days. Quality gear at a great price. Look forward to trying one one of these days (hopefully before they follow your advice to charge more 🙃).

Lovely video as always, do you "produce" the bass & drum yourself ? The music production of your videos are always top notch, would love to see you recording video about how you produce a short song, favorite chords, etc...

Super cool look, loved the Pacifica I used to own, should not have sold that one.
How’s tuning stability with the wrap around and the Gib style string pull?

    • @DemosInTheDark

Great review! I owned this guitar model for a few months when they came out. It had really great tones and I loved the dry switch. Why it wasn't a keeper? Weight, it was a little heavy for a double cut in my opinion. Balance, it had neck dive, which really surprised me with the thickness of the body. The frets were decent, but not as good as my Ibanez JSM10, that while a completely different guitar, was in the same price point. Personally I feel they're priced just about right. Not as good quality wise as a top end PRS SE, but far better then an Epiphone. If they could get the weight and feel as dialed in as the appearance it would still be mine. They look awesome!
