A PERFECT Alternative To A Les Paul? | Yamaha Revstar RSP20CR

  • The Yamaha Revstar RSP20CR, very kindly sent to me by Yamaha to try out. Certainly one of the classiest guitars I ever reviewed and looks good anywhere, on anyone. In my opinion, the perfect all-round rock machine that makes a great alternative to a Gibson Les Paul with familiar features of Fender Strat/Charvel which I love! Excellent craftsmanship and certainly a Cinderella guitar on the market right now. Well worth the look.
A message to Les Paul purists, I don't have a hatred for Les Pauls, they just aren't the guitars for me simply due to little niggles mentioned in the video that Yamaha strips back and improves for my needs personally.
I am hooked up to a Yamaha THR30II amp, no post mixing or mastering.

It's more like a modern take on a LP junior. I haven't moded it but I might put seymour duncans in it at some point. There's a video on YT about how they designed the Revstars, check it out, I'm a designer and I think they are one of the better designs I've seen in a long time.

Thanks! It's a very hard technique to teach that is covered very widely on RUclips. The only way I can describe it is you're lightly catching your thumb when picking the string by slightly tightening your grip of the pick. It only tends to work effectively on the E, A, D and G strings.

The Revstar is in my opinion superior to a lespaul in many ways. Smoother neck heel and stronger neck design, lighter than most les pauls, body is more comfortable. The Gibson design is very outdated and for some reason refuses to make important changes that would make a lespaul more desirable.
