The greatest man of the early 50's rock and roll and playing strings of this extremely dominated and powerful singer talented guitar instrumental at all time.
He was in the national spotlight a little over four months but his legacy still lives on. This hit the Hot 100 on 9/22/1958. Love the 78 rpm shown. I believe this is a clip from the film "Go Johnny Go" which was released after Richie's passing.
i cried the day i heard he and my idol buddy holly died...we were outide playing a ball game in my neighbors yard and i heard the news break on my transister radio.....yes....no telling how far this young man would have gone in popular music.....why do so many of the young singing innovators perish at so early an age? holly, valens, bopper, frankie lymon patsy cline, thomas wayne, hank williams, eddie chocran, johnny horton, jim reeves, johnny burnette, sam cooke, nat king cole, bill black, bobby fuller, ottis redding are among those i recall and loved to listen to...may all of them rest in peace with our Lord
Maybe it's just my ears but I think the production on this song is unbelievable for the 50's. I know a lot of songs sound much more raw during this period (which is great) but the drums sound superb (that snare), the guitar is gutsy and dynamic and the bass is spot on. There's pure soul in the production of this brilliant song. I can't imagine what he would have gone on to achieve.
The music, the ladies their hairstyles & dresses, the clothes the dance moves & definitely the cars from the 50s is when I should've lived 👍 RIP Richie valens💚🤍❤️

Hello beautiful
Ahhh, didn’t the 50’s just look so great? The singing, the dancing and just the atmosphere altogether.🕺🎤🎶
You are a legend Richie, RIP!!!
Hello Marie
How are you doing today?
Real American music ❤️

THERE IS NOTHING LIKE AUTHENTIC ROCK AND ROLL....THE GREAT RITCHIE VALENS ..WAS THE REAL DEAL !!!!!
Ricardo Valencia !!! 💯 Chicano
He was in the national spotlight a little over four months but his legacy still lives on. This hit the Hot 100 on 9/22/1958.
Love the 78 rpm shown. I believe this is a clip from the film "Go Johnny Go" which was released after Richie's passing.
Yep. I'm pretty sure the clip of him playing the guitar solo is from the movie, La Bamba.
Some of your great grandparents were extra with dem dance moves 😆
Richi valans wow!!! Que chingon cantaba viva la la cultura mexicoamericana

the dancing is amazing...could you imagine how much practice it takes to be so in sync with your partner..great stuff
This is great ! I miss those days... And Ritchie Valens !
The dance of the time was admirable, it impresses me
THIS BINGS GREAT MEMORIES BACK WHEN LIFE WAS FUN NO WORRIES
Happy belated and thank you! 🙏🏾😊
These now deceased legends all will live on thru their music. Thanks Ritchie, R.I.P.
i cried the day i heard he and my idol buddy holly died...we were outide playing a ball game in my neighbors yard and i heard the news break on my transister radio.....yes....no telling how far this young man would have gone in popular music.....why do so many of the young singing innovators perish at so early an age? holly, valens, bopper, frankie lymon patsy cline, thomas wayne, hank williams, eddie chocran, johnny horton, jim reeves, johnny burnette, sam cooke, nat king cole, bill black, bobby fuller, ottis redding are among those i recall and loved to listen to...may all of them rest in peace with our Lord
Terrific jiving. Great rocker from Ritchie. 🙋♂️🇬🇧
Could they dance back then!! I miss it!!
Chuck Berry really liked him, taping on the table with the beat. Loved it
The music, the ladies their hairstyles & dresses, the clothes the dance moves & definitely the cars from the 50s is when I should've lived 👍
RIP Richie valens💚🤍❤️
I was lucky enough to have.

Ese Ritchie! Love the music!
At just aged 8 my First Communion money got me a fantastic Zenith Transistor radio with ear plug (Mom wouldn't give me hell if she didn't hear it) I loved listening to Richie. Was used to old people dying but shocked Richie a teenager died. For months I grieved for he and his family and as a good little Catholic girl prayed for them frequently.
Yo!! I didn't know he was 17 when he passed.😢😢😢So sad. I knew about him and watched, "LA Bamba", but I didn't know he was 17. I'm 44 today and watched, "LA Bamba" when I was like, I don't know, 10 years old. Still one of my favorite movies. Seeing the movie, now that I'm older, made me cry. Such a sad story for Ritchie, Buddy Holly, Big Bopper, and the pilot.
Wish I could go back to this time in music and history absolute class !!
Just watched the documentary about his death along with Buddy Holly and The Big Bopper. Tragic! I’ve been listening to a lot Richie’s stuff and I love it. RIP to a true music legend 🙏
What a lively dance the jive was.
Lots and lots of practicing!!! ❤❤
This is such a brilliant song!❤❤❤❤

The last couple dancing doing that multi-whip is sick (short dude with the glasses). I've seen that clip in different videos, but it never fails to impress. Swing dancing at its best.
Is he the same guy dancing the "Nitty Gritty" on the Ed Sullivan show? The guy was amazing in that dance routine
man i couldnt dance like that without hurting myself, your music is still alive ritchie
Rip Ritchie Valens buddy holly & the big bopper jp. Legends! I love this video. They were having fun. U don't see that anymore in videos. You guys music will live on forever! Man these dudes must got Jesus rocking in heaven! 😂
What an amazing song! It makes me long for a period of time that existed well before I was born.
