I was also really scared of omegaverse before I started reading it, but have found I really like it! A lot tends to be mostly Why Choose vibes. The Sweet Omegaverse by Kathryn Moon is my favorite in the genre!
I feel Cutting the Braid by Jett Masterson would be a good start in Omegaverse for you, especially if you're scared of it. I absolutely LOVE this book and it's on the shorter side (for you) being a little under 300 pages. The story is a kind of reimagined Rapuzel story, to give a short description: A gay Rapunzel reimagining with a slowburn-esque plotline (the entire book is a falling in love at first site then building a relationship on that, very much not an insta-love situation). The story is more low fantasy and historical romance (it has no historical references other than the clothing style and other small details). The spice level is on the lower end, but you fall in love with the relationship of the characters so much that you kind of get over it (if you were there for spice). It also has some micro-tropes that I absolutely love such as she/he fell first, but she/he fell harder, nightmares, and bathing/ taking care of each other. I would also recommend Waiting On the One by Jett Masterson, which is longer (almost 700 pages), but it's heavy angst compared to Cutting the Braid which is very softcore vibes. To give a description of this one: It's a retired military man with PTSD turned guide-wolf trainer (he trains wolves instead of dogs, and they are the goodest of good boys/girls) x blind elementary school music teacher romance. It's on the contemporary spectrum so I don't know if you'd like this one as much (as you read more fantasy and romantacy). This story is very slow-burn, but the conversations had about consent and the falling in love with falling in love is just so cute. (Though if I know you as a reader, you'll complain a little bit about the end because it seems a little drawn out to put extra points in). There are trigger /content warnings before you go in( if you choose to read it I'll tell you what they are if you want/ need to know). This book has an entire set of micro-tropes that absolutely had me buzzing: the caretaker trope, grumpy x sunshine (x2 iykyk), the only him, and the protection trope (the one where the dom character is f***ing up someone who hurt their SO, and it happens before they even solidify their relationship). (The communication that goes on in this story is especially chef's kiss because one character is blind with ✨trauma✨ and the other is just there for them always, 😫 I love it!) This one also has a lot more spice in it, so there's also that. Both books are MxM Omegaverse, but I feel they're more beginner friendly than what was chosen. I also just love Jett Masterson's writing and both of these books are 5 star reads for me.
I actually tried reading "She Came for Blood". Unfortunately got a bit bored/distracted halfway through. Might give it a second chance sometime, but either way hope you end up enjoying it.
I would prob recommend bonded by thorns as well! THAT one has good plot as the story goes on!!! bUT I do think Eva chase is a lil slower burn so could work for you
I don't think it is. From what I know omegaverse is about the heirarchy and seperates ppl into submissive and dominant (alpha and omega) Eva chase is a shifter romance but I don't think omegaverse
@@CoverswithCassidy I do agree with this, but I also kind of disagree. Yes, omegaverse has "I am Alpha. You are Omega." type roles, but from the few that I've read - so does every why choose. one guy is usually the main guy that they all look to / go to. one of them is the comforting guy. someone is funny, etc. etc. it's there but it's not necessarily labelled as such. the only difference I was thinking of was the spicy scenes, those might come differently.
@@Micmezle this is why im willing to try, im nervous from what ive heard especially about some of the spice, soaking and stuff its terrifying HAHA and why I asked my friends for light on those things, and got recommendations from ppl I trust! otherwise I would have just skipped the prompt
@@CoverswithCassidy tbh, I can only think of one omegaverse novel that I've read but I've read a hundredandfifteen thousand fanfics. and maybe because I'm 'used to it' it doesn't seem weird to me but I feel like if you've read any alien or fae scenes it would be similar? because even if it's not always said I can't imagine they're all shaped like humans with their pants off. the only cringe=y things might be the way an author chooses to describe things. I do hope the book your friends chose works out for you. but if it doesn't, I hope you'll give it a second try sometime.
READ DRAGONS OF EMBERS!!! You’ll love it! All of Tessa’s books are amazing!
Love the idea to use the bingo board as a KU tbr!

I’d recommend Lola and the millionaires for omegaverse bc it’s very chill and why choose. It’s a duet and I gave them five stars
OH WHAT! HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS GOING TO LOOK NOW!
Shattered Vow gave me X-Men vibes! It’s really good!!
Xmen vibes omfg count me in
I have no romantasy recs but looking forward to hearing what you think of these! 🐺
I love that your just here for the vibes and the occasional rec
Another bingo board you say? Sign me up!

these all sound so funnnnn🐺🐺🐺
Light omegaverse would also be Bride by Ali Hazelwood (can't remember if you've read it or not.)
I dnfd this one! But thanks for the rec
I actually tried reading "She Came for Blood". Unfortunately got a bit bored/distracted halfway through. Might give it a second chance sometime, but either way hope you end up enjoying it.
oh noooooo, I hope I like it sorry you didn't!
Eva Chase really nails her covers (no pun intended?). I think her why choose is calling to me as a first taste tester.
I would prob recommend bonded by thorns as well! THAT one has good plot as the story goes on!!! bUT I do think Eva chase is a lil slower burn so could work for you
@@CoverswithCassidy For some reason Bonded by Thorns scares me much more
I got special editions of The Bone Witch & the other two books! Hopefully we like them!! 🤞🏻
yes I hope we doooo!
Kathryn Moon also writes some great why-choose!
I actually have read from her before I didn't like it 😂
@ No haha! I totally get it tho lol some of hers books are kind of insane
@ haha ya I read rooksgrave manor which maybe I should try something else
I want to participate as well, even though I don't have KU. The prompts fit a lot with my TBR.
I say just do it!
I love your sweatshirt! Where did you get it
its from shop narrative threads!!!
Have you read the Ironside Academy books yet? It’s reverse harem and omegaverse.
Ooooh i havent I'll have to look into them

You must ......
You are making me wanna get to Eva chase asap!
I think you'd love her rainy!

🐺 🐺🐺
Read Fool the Demon before Speak of the Demon :)
And be careful with the bone witch!
I personally prefer to skip the .5 so will start with speak!! Why do I need to be careful?
🐺
🐺🐺
Hello there hey there hey Hello hi there there
🌕🐺
thanks for watching!!!

but why so afraid of omegaverse? it's the same(ish) as shifter romance. wait. isn't that eva chase book omegaverse? I'm very confused.
I don't think it is. From what I know omegaverse is about the heirarchy and seperates ppl into submissive and dominant (alpha and omega) Eva chase is a shifter romance but I don't think omegaverse
A lot of the tropes are too extreme for my personal liking in omegaverse from what I've heard so a lil scared to try
