Awesome I have the UAD2 plugin for the unison slot in console. I'm gonna try those out right now with my Mojave Tube Condenser MA-300 . That Neumann sounds tremendous with those settings. Thanks brother. Subbed and Like

These tips were helpful, appreciate the specific settings shown. One bit of unsolicited feedback though, if I may - would definitely recommend showing a singing sample of the final vocal vs just telling us your speaking vocal is the end product. I dont think this gritty low-heavy podcast sound (as is) is something that many people hear in commercial music, so it kinda turned me off from trying to listen and get this sound in my music

Agreed. He also stated that these are starting points.

Thanks for a nice topic and some good EQ settings! Would like to see how you set the gain for in and out on the unit. I own one as well but struggle to have a good overview on the difference it makes on setting the levels.

I love my TLM103 Such a clean and crisp mic. I owned a 102 before that but the 103 has the same capsule as the U87 or U87ai…which is another one of my favorite mics.

I still use it for streaming! it already has that 5k boost so it's immediately in front which is nice - though for my voice I have this like breathy resonance that it would always pick up and it's all I could hear so when I could afford my forever mic got the manley but the TLM 103 is more than usable to get great sounding vox

@@sounds-sights I use my 1073 in my Apollo as analog in the unison slot on my WA8000 which is an affordable version of the C800G

    Thank you
Is it possible for a video tutorial how to connect the Neve 1073 EQ with the audio interface and explain all the buttons?

Great tip! Beacause I sing and my pitch is higher I high pass at 80hz and boost at 60hz instead of 35 and works great! Thanks

Same here I have a higher range too and set my 1073 HP at 80 and add a bit of 60. I love a touch off 60 especially with a Pultec.

What’s the deal with high passing at 160hz but boosting 30hz? Does that basically make a cut inbetween those frequencies? I’m really new to this plug in so trying to figure it out!

If You Guys Are Using It For Music Purposes I Would Just Dial In The Gain Until It’s Close But Not Clipping Then I Would EQ In Post

You don’t even need it really, it’s fun and engaging to twist knobs and hear it affect what’a happening but it’s also expensive, requires upkeep (what happens if a tube dies? That thing is as useful as a pile of dirt), warm up time, you can only have one hardware vs. unlimited plugins…so don’t even sweat it. Apollo is plenty 🤘🏽 just keep making music!!

It’s nice to make someone not feel bad about not having a ton of expensive gear but don’t lie saying it’s just for knob twisting😭 also 1073s don’t have tubes…

I don’t like the way your vocal mix sounds in this short, so I’m probably not gonna take your advice
