    Outstanding breakdown. Best lesson for this song. I've been playing guitar 6 months and find your teaching style informative and easy to keep up with.

    Hi Sean!
    Once again, you delivered us an amazing video. Its was simple and short and you not only explained how to play the song but also told us what makes it so special by using knowledge about scales, intervals etc.
    Please keep doing these videos, they are very useful to me and I bet they are useful to others as well.
    Take car man!
    Cheers,
    Miko

    I don't know whether it's because I'm a Brit or whether I've been under a rock but I've only just discovered John Mayer's music recently and have fallen in love with it. Great deconstruction too! :)

    If I learn all the scales, would I be able to put the melodies I have in my head on the guitar? Or I guess I need to learn the intervals too

    • @seandaniel23
      @seandaniel23  7 лет назад +1

      All those intervals are going to be in the scales anyway, so scales are an excellent place to start, but just keep being thoughtful about what you're doing and your ear will develop :)

    I see in a recent interview that John Mayer says he has never felt closer and more in touch with his guitar than being part of Dead & Co. and playing all those Jerry Garcia guitar parts. Hear hear!

    • @seandaniel23
      @seandaniel23  7 лет назад

      You can definitely tell in the videos I've seen that he's in his element there.

  • @xosemusic
    @xosemusic 6 лет назад +1

    So how to use this song as an m6 interval reference? I'm confused

    • @seandaniel23
      @seandaniel23  6 лет назад

      Not necessarily the 'interval' of a minor 6 BUT it's an example of using the 6th note in a scale (which is the natural or relative minor). So you can just slide into that 6th position.

  • @JonnysWorldofMusic

      Jon D A who cares when it sounds good

    • @seandaniel23
      @seandaniel23  7 лет назад

      Yeah that's great advice from Sean, any progression is simple if you just break it down to the root note. So simple is never bad, but if you're bored with it, extended chords all the way!

    • @Mikewiings
      @Mikewiings 7 лет назад
