The one thing I can state as a fact after subscribing for a couple of months, your videos are never boring. Keep up the good work. God bless and lots of love from Norway.
Thank you so much for the support and wish you a wonderful week as well.
I just have one question. What the hell are you doing out there at night in what appears to be incredibly cold weather. That's dedication.
He's Canadian. Canadians are tough.
He's a true Albertan
It's snowing, doesn't mean its "incredibly cold". Must be from Florida.
@@belka85 He says in the video it was -25 degrees (-40 with wind chill), a cold streak hit Alberta. So it WAS cold.
@@rebeltvr6046 -25c before wind is normal for Alberta in the winter.
My wife just got a 22 Dodge Charger GT (Her dream car)two days ago, she's happy. No need to go EV yet. My 2011 XF still serves it purpose.
As long as it keeps working then keeps running what ya got.
I will continue to drive internal combustion until gas stations cease to exist. I ABSOLUTELY REFUSE to take on negative equity on an EV that has poor range, takes twenty minutes to charge, with non-existent charging networks in rural Canada. The technology just where it needs to be, we are decades off.
On top of all that......EVs usually carry a higher insurance premium....and in some states in the US, now have an additional annual tax to pay on them, since road tax isnt included in the electricity.
EVs don’t work in the cold
Not well
you have to imagine how the car looks under the snow
Yes a little bit of a blizzard
Now that’s dedication ! Working in a snow storm 🫡 ✊🏾 !
Thanks Mike, yes that was a seriously miserable night but sort of fun to do still.
@@ECPP I’m contemplating getting an Audi A7 or Porsche Panamera (2015) I’ve searched to see if you spoke on these & couldn’t find a video. What’s your take on these 2 vehicles 🤔 ?
Excellent video!
Thank you for informing us about our automotive manufacturers
Our pleasure!
Come 2025 we will be replacing my daily driver first, a 2020 Civic Coupe EX. We will be looking and comparing primarily a Prius LX AWD, Corolla XSE Hybrid AWD, Honda HR-V Hybrid.
All hybrids. We drive 20+k miles on each car and MPG and Charger Paranoia is unacceptable.
Greetings from Australia, love your channel. Last month I’ve ordered a Macan S, knowing the new Macan will be electric, sadly.
Great work, I was also recently looking at a Macan as a potential daily. Amazing rides.
Love the program
Thank you
Very very interesting video.
RS. Canada
Thanks for another great video Mark. I guess ill be burning fossil fuels until the day I die. Cheers
Haha, it’s a bit more predictable
@@ECPP Amen to that! Lol
Great video. I agree 100%!
Thank you
Thank you
Love the channel as always
Appreciate it!
@Mark, could you do a video on the most reliable and long lasting BMW engine SUV for last 4 or so years. Is Volvo still Luke warm? I see they’re bringing XC90 Truck
I sure can
I would avoid new Volvos.
I couldn’t imagine living in all that snow -40 degrees oh hell naw for what ??? 🤦🏽♂️, I live south Florida I’m never moving
That’s a much nicer climate indeed
@@ECPP time to move brother from all that cold and snow I’m sure our cost of living is the same
Once synthetic fuels are a go worldwide, that should replace current gasoline. Remember the time when petrol used to be leaded? Then became unleaded?I ain't jumping in the EV space. I'd rather refill/refuel than replace battery packs.
You bet
I drive RAV4 PHEV, I like the instant torque of electric driving but I wouldn't buy an EV, the infrastructures aren't there
Don't mention ev and fire in the same sentence!
I think it's telling when Ford even drops the hybrid driveline on the upcoming 2025 Explorer.
I like the Audi RS 3, I’d love to have one.
They are amazing cars
Thanks!
Hey thanks so much Richard!
I would never want a EV / battery car in a cold climate.. Nothing but trouble and range anxiety.. not to mention if it will even run ? and for how long..
Cold weather wreaks serious havoc
@@ECPP It sure does.. That's typical... They are not electric vehicles they are Battery vehicles.. Batteries do not like cold ... And their efficiency can drop 45-50 percent!! Talk about range anxiety.. 😵💫
I heard horror stores in the Midwest (US) that when we had the record cold temperatures a few weeks ago some Tesla owners were left stranded because of the extreme cold.
@@dancarlton7973 ..You are 💯 percent correct🤣... They proved to be bloody nightmare..
Thank You Sir for the free knowledge!! I appreciate you.
So nice of you! I more than appreciate this!
Test in Norway in a box at -42°C recently showed that the problem with EVs was the 12 volt lead acid battery!
In two out of five cars (BMW and Renault) there were no problems because they have heated 12 V battery. One car didn't start up at all because the voltage was beneath a certain limit. Two of the cars died after 5-10 minutes.
This means, you have to know what you buy if you intend to drive at temperatures around -40°C!
ICE engine cars don't start "better" with a not perfect battery!
Maybe the engine fires up, but can you be sure that nothing breaks? In that case you have to dig very deep in your pocket. It's much cheaper to use one or two vacation days. In the Nordic countries we have 25-30 days.
In many "big" cities and city centres ICE vehicles will be prohibited, then you need the right drivetrain!
Then I don't think most people think about to save the planet. Most people think of convenient and hassle free vehicles.
A Swedish shop repairing Teslas in Stockholm says that people should have a service every 50,000 km on their Teslas.
In Norway about 90 % of the customers buy EV, and i.e. VW will stopp selling ICE cars in Norway (or maybe they have already stopped, I'm not quite sure).
The trend is clear, this is only the beginning.
The trend is not clear at all...Toyota is going back to some ICE cars and looking hard at hydrogen and of course hybrid
So positive tonight 😀 loving BMW and Audi and jaguar! Yes agree EV is dead not working in Alberta
Cheers
2014 x4 ..good buy or no?pls!!
Solid but comes with some maintenance required and elevated maintenance cost
Craig Why didn’t you clean the cars for your vid?
Haha, I wanted it to be more authentic
@@ECPP authentic Craig…really 🤣😂
Question...2016 BMW X5 50i. Or Infinity 2013 G37 3.7 Sedan ????? Pls!!!!
I would recommend the X5 35i for better reliability (awesome SUV for about $15k-$25k)
Thanks!!
@@leshawnwalker8439 yw lol also you can always tune the 35i X5 if you really want more power!
@@CarGeek360 2010-2013 G37 infinity....ur thoughts. Pls. Good buy or not??
@@leshawnwalker8439 it’s a great buy but I like the X5 more between the 2 (F30 BMW 335i is amazing for a cheaper sedan too)
Thinking a Jaguar F Type may be one of the best used car values going.
Make sure you have a mechanic to fix it when something goes wrong. A lot of Jag dealers are closing up.
Hello what about Lexus GX460 2023 V8 old generation is reliable?
Indeed
I'm so glad I don't live in freezing snowy Canada with my car getting damaged by snow. Yuk. I don't know how you can do car reviews when you can't see the car.
The best ithing in a car for me is the engine sound love v8 . Love to go for a drive and hear that 6.2 v8 camaro zli. Sorry evs not for me .Mario65
The ❄️ is hilarious
There is r ouch of it for sure, lol
Evs need to mature a lot still to compete in practical world
I like the thought of EVs, but for me, its not practical nor is it saving the environment like its promoted to be
Exactly
I’d expect putting your mouth around a tailpipe would change your view.
@badhairday_247 sure, just as long as we stick your mouth in the fossil fuel power plants supplying the energy or make you eat the tons of dirt required to dig up the minerals to make EV batteries
@badhairday_247 Let's shove you into the fossil fuel power plants used to provide the energy to charge those EVs to see if you would think differently
@@badhairday_247 of course, here come the environmental sheep that don't look into things further other than what they are told to believe
For me, the best EV is one that I don’t own! 🤣
Haha indeed
no good with the snow
I agree, snow and cold is brutal
Where's your snow brush?
….or leaf blower?
I do like you picked a snowy cold evening for this video and brought up the awful performance of EVs in extremely cold weather
You bet it was by design
My EV handles the curves better than any petrol I have owned....
That’s fair but what type of cars are those?
@ECPP corvette, audi, bmw, mustang, porsche, jaguar, mercedes.... all beaten by my EV. Torque, horsepower, handling, and Comfort. Would add that it is not a mainstream EV 😉
Why is he doing a video, when the vehicles are covered in snow ?
A different perspective and sort of fun at the same time.
You can not make a car 500 kg heavier and belief that it’s going to consume less.
Exactly, energy is energy
EVs noooooooooooo thaaaaank youuu
Right?
Most European brands are garbage these days with the planned obsolescence they built into their products. Volvo seems to be a nice stand out with the least amount of near-term repairs needed and long-term reliability.
Yes I would say most brands are built with an engineered lifespan in mind these days
Well. The EVs are not reliable enough. The gas powered and diesel powered vehicles needed. Even the Toyotas are still making the Hybrids. The hybrids are still need on the game. Like Toyota Crown those one of the excellent vehicles in the world. And Lexus RX 2.4 hybrids. Because the EVs and Elon smoker falls off on the seat cause the EV sells went downhill. Also Teslas are known for their worst quality interior and it fall apart. Nobody needs a BMW electric car. Nobody needs a Mercedes Benz Electric Car. Nobody needs a Lexus or Toyota Electric car (I mean a pure electric car) stick with gasoline powered cars or trucks and change the oil and ended the Story
Tesla is too little car for the money IMHO
@@ECPPthat’s real beeg sadly
Tell u not to buy German then now Buy German
Sorry, but not interested in the same old German junk boxes.
FEVs and FJB. 🥶🔥🖕🇨🇳
Cheers
I love my Tesla Model S it’s the best vehicle I’ve ever had , I’m done with Mercedes , Porsche and BMW , unless it’s a Taycan
