Getting excited for the spring lake fishing here on the Kenai Peninsula. Rivers are closed till the middle of June but the lakes are thawing and fish will be hungry. Stoked! Thanks for the great video, Phil. Love your work.

I enjoy all your videos,I have never used strike indicators when fly fishing over here in Scotland (UK) but I will try it this season just to see how it goes but I do normally fish with two flies one on the dropper and one on the point so keep fishing and tight lines plus my son and I have fished over in BC and in Alaska but that’s another story we just love fly fishing 🎣✊👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇬🇧

I use the indicator technique to fish flies and midges with spinning gear.

Hi. Liked your style and video. Are those lakes stocked with fish from a hatchery? No criticism, just curious.

Quick question if your using strike indicators how high above the fly are you putting the strike indicator? Oh and great video I've been trying lots of lakes with trout In them but having trouble getting them to bite often.

Good question, it is based on the depth of where you need to put the fly to where the fish are. So if you're fishing 8 feet of water and the fish are within a foot of the bottom, then you need to setup for seven feet. Phil sells the sliding indicators if they are not available in your area (I can never find here so buy them from him). Hope that helps and good luck!
