    I live in NM & I'm an avid stillwater flyfisher. Here's a rule I live by: No movement, No strike! I don't know how many times I advise somebody to "bounce dat bad boy" LoL. & still they don't continue w/it. Bounce it, long strip, short strip, pause it long/short time, jerk it, side to side, etc. Too many guys using "bait" fishing style & watching indicator like a baited bobber LoL. Thanx for the great info 👍

    great video, i've always been a bait slinger and finally want to dip my toes into fly fishing. Lakes are easier to get to and fish where I live, so this was a great video. Thank you!

    One thing they don't say is always, always, ALWAYS start and the winded shoreline of a lake. Cooler water and invertebrates always follow the current of the wind.

      Where'sTheSauce? So the downwind side? Or the upwind?

      They follow the food the wind pushes.

    Wondering what length of leader was used?
    With your floating line and your 3ips Line
    I'm curious if we are fishing a drop off of 20 ft with strike indicator set up what length leader and tippett would suffice?

    • @newflyfisher
      @newflyfisher  3 года назад

      You want to try and have your fly within a foot of the bottom, so if it is 20 feet, then set it for 19 feet.

    Hey guys. There's a gentleman who I would consider a fly fishing God. Who I'm sure you are familiar with his name is Ben Turpin. I would love to see you do a show with him included. I taken many guy trips from him. And I've caught my biggest trout on fly line with him

    interesting. i mnever caught anything in stillwater (because body of water is huge and it's much harder to spot "fishy" water) , but it has some potential

      @@newflyfisher No problem. I seem to notice that the vast majority of fishing resources pretty much anywhere always default to boat fishing to some degree, despite the vast majority(80% or more, probably) of anglers and fishermen being locked to shore because they don't have access to a boat for some reason.

    IDK how i feel about fishing lakes. I have found some really good lakes where i catch 5+/hour but i enjoy river fishing more. Finding fish in rivers is much easier than flat water bodies but the fish in lakes are usually bigger.
