    Donald, I'm not sure I get the advantage of the slip bobber. If there's a stop attached to the line, then that will limit the depth of your presentation. How is this any different than using a fixed bobber?

    • @NRVOutdoors
      @NRVOutdoors  Год назад +1

      You can place the bobber stopper way up the line allowing you to get the lure down to the desired depth while casting the entire rig tightly together resulting in long casts and required depth

    I primarily use a carolina rig. It seems to work best around here, especially has the season where's on. I did have some success with spinners and floats early on. Managed to land 145 trout this year, lost couple dozen more.

    Great vid, great tip on the creek feeding in. That is productive on rivers too. Feeder creeks dump food and warmer or cooler water depending on season and great place for trout and many other species. Love feeder creeks

    I haven't tried your eggs yet but I bet if you add one of your worms whacky style with it you'll do very well. Back when I used to keep a lot of trout I would use doughbait or eggs with a whacky worm. I still do it occasionally. Floating eggs and worms do better in lakes. I like your videos. Keep up the work

    Please read all of this.Its and small to medium sizes river not as spots but this spot if you throw it up stream there is and lot of rocks abd grass Briars abd brushes and tress down stream it's just rocks it gets Shallow small pool then deep.How do you fish this spot and how do you caught them with out getting Hung up?

    • @NRVOutdoors
      @NRVOutdoors  Год назад +1

      Spots like this can be very challenging. If you plan to fish a float rig I recommend adding enough weight to sink the lure very quickly. That way when you cast into the small holes it has time to sink to the required depth before washing into the shallow water. You can also try jigging with a little extra weight and do your best go keep the lure off the bottom while feeling for bites.

    LOL! The word may be spelled "crappie", but it's pronounced "croppy". They're just as good-eating as rainbow trout, too. I haven't seen weights like the one you used for your drop-shot rig. Do you have a link for that? When I fish a body of water with that much downed timber, I usually cut of 2 of the 3 hooks on my treble. It doesn't seem to limit my hookups, it doesn't cause as many snags, and it doesn't cause as much damage to the fish.

    • @NRVOutdoors
      @NRVOutdoors  Год назад +2

      We add a split ring to our spinners to make it easy to add a single hook if desired
