- Kohlrabi is exquisite, unusual and fun to grow! Cool seasons grow the sweetest, most tender and largest kohlrabi. She's one of the hundreds of organic seeds we share on our website, each one adapted to thrive in the short seasons of the Northeaster US: www.fruitionse...
She can make ads for vegetables with her voice and that beautiful smile she'll convince more people into eating veges they never tasted before. I mean I'm definitely willing to taste the kohlrabi thing now🤔
I just bought a pack of kohlrabi seeds yesterday! I have never grown it, or even eaten it before, but I am excited to try it.
woooHooOOoooOoooo! be sure to water and feed her, thin her quickly if you direct sowed and keep in touch, don't be shy!
We just made some homemade kohlrabi ice cream from our kohlrabi harvest. So Tasty! I think kohlrabi is our new favorite veggie.
Super easy to grow, hope you discovered that.
I'm growing them for the first time here in North Pole, Alaska; plain and purple varieties. The summer has been cool and wet; they are setting bulbs about tennis ball size. Will be giving them a taste test having lived 72 years w/o eating them.
We recently discovered kohlrabi as well, and we love it! We just made kohlrabi ice cream and it is simply delicious. Maybe you can try that as well.
@@GutenGardening When I first saw your comment, I thought the words "ice cream" there had to be a mistake! Yet I searched, and your very own video came right up! Very cool video! So fun to learn the recipe!

@Jim Gerth it's very interesting and fun to hear about food growing in North Pole, Alaska! And about anyone trying kohlrabi for the first time! It's been one of our top favorites since the first time we tried it. We love broccoli stem, and find kohlrabi bulb even more delicious, being slightly crisper, slightly juicier and slightly sweeter. We love kohlrabi leaves too - more delicious than kale to us. Hope you'll report how your growing goes, and how you and yours like the kohlrabi bulb and leaf!
@@ozdoits Hi! If you get a chance you should definitely try the kohlrabi ice cream recipe. We are growing even more Kohlrabi this Fall so we can try some other recipes.
very nice presentation not too long and to the point-I'm sold
The way you described it made me want to start growing it now. Can’t wait to try it. Thanks for the video!
One of our fave vegetables. Fast growing too. All parts of the plant are edible. You can use it in as many ways as potatoes, but unlike potatoes they're also great raw. Amazing and so versatile.
Omg yes!!! You literally sound as you love Kohlrabi as much as me!!!
We have tons of it in our community garden…I had no idea what it tasted like. Now I want to try it!
Omg you are exuberant and persuasive!!! I dont even have a garden but want one now hahaha
You say what I feel for kohlrabi! Delightful, both of you!
Definitely one of the best vegies for weight loss and really good tasting.
You can also cook and eat the leaves!
Wo those are massive I can remember as a young seven year old scaling a neighbors fence with my cousin in Germany I now live on the Deep South DONT know if I can grow it but going to give it a try stay blessed
Your enthusiasm is infectious..
Great vid
I always describe kohlrabi as tasting like broccoli stems. Luv em!
You habe the perfekt voice for the news!!!👍👍👍
Didn't think Kohlrabi grew that big, but be definitely been doing them wrong.
Also her voice is world class....
I planted some in late winter and they are like what you hold now. Really chose as a rotation crop and they looked delicious in the grocery store. Was looking for ideas on how to best consume them. Nothing left but the pickin now!
We love to enjoy them fresh in a salad or even plain to snack on! Enjoy and don't be shy!
I eat them like an apple.
With your enthusiasm I swear you could talk an Eskimo to buy a fridge!😉 I am just growing cohlrabi in southern California they grow fine (when it’s not too hot) but I have troubles from protecting them from rodents (mice, squirrels and other pests)
Great informative video
Thanks for sharing! Very informative and great presentation.
You are just wonderful 💓
We love kohlrabi!
Wow like a poet on kholrabi?
My fav raw vegetable with salt. Like the smaller turnip size raw. Bigger would probably make a great soup base. For kohlrabi leak soup for example.
I’m going to try to grow some over winter down here in zone 8. I’ve heard wonderful things about it but not sure if it will grow so perfectly here. We’ll see!
If the conditions are right, she'll thrive in zone 8 without any hesitation :)
After this video I grew kholrabi this spring (and beat off)
Just got these seeds
✨Enjoy every bite!
@@FruitionSeeds for sure

hooray!
Growing tips would be nice
great video,i will definetly try it,you are a good video presenter
The Giants are real keepers! Wrapped they last months in the fridge. Oh, and they ARE giant...
Space Cabbage!!
I envy you, I grew it once and it was a lot smaller.
me too
kohlrabi is hungry and doesn't love stress (who does?!), and nonetheless she is more finicky than some other vegetables. try transplanting the seeds, if you haven't already! then the thinning isn't a limiting factor.
Hmm I've never had it before.
I wish I could share some of ours with you, my Friend!
As a child I've eaten fresh Kohlrabi many times as my dad grew then in his allotment. I've just sown a couple of rows of purple varieties in my garden just now.
Would you eat the leaves?
Yes you can! They are delicious both raw and tossed into a stir-fry
do they store as long as the giant kohlrabi?
You are gorgeous I love your videos
What type of fertilizer, what zones
Zones! Kohlrabi can thrive in AK as well as the Caribbean --- she loves abundant fertility and prefers cool/warm seasons to hot. in addition to adding abundant compost to our soil, we foliar feed with our fish emulsion each week. We share it here, if you'd love to try some: www.fruitionseeds.com/Fish-Kelp-Emulsion-p/a17.htm
