That was shonuff a huge kohlrabi. Love seeing the kitty visiting with ya. Thanks for letting us know what ya gonna do with all those kohlrabi's you have growing on over there. Stay cool and safe as ya can my friend and have a wonderful week!
We're trying to stay cool up here-- not as hot as you all, but in the 90s and humid as all get out! We ended up getting 2 kittens with the hopes they'll be good vermin-catchers and 2 new puppies too... it's a regular zoo around here!
I love this video so much! Thank you for sharing about this giant variety and what to do with all of it. I had no idea it was possible for kohlrabi to grow so big AND stay tender!
Wow! I've started a multitude of Kossak giant kohlrabi this year (every vacant spot in the flats) and it's great to see how beautifully they turn out! Hopefully they will sell well at my market stand this year (with some explanations, as customers will be shocked.). I'll just direct them to your video. 🌞🌱🌻🌄 Many thanks Jenna!
Yes!! I'm glad you're growing the Kossak, Chuck! I just transplanted a bunch out into my garden a week ago, I love them so much. I think the reaction you get from customers will be a lot of fun! I'd love to hear how it goes and what folks think of them. Take care & have a great Sunday!
@@GrowfullywithJenna Thanks Jenna! I'll let you know what reactions customers have to the giant Kossak; positive I'm sure once they try them! Sweet, nutty, and crunchy, I'm sure they will be a favorite in very little time. 🌻 Have a great Sunday too.🐝🌱🌞
Now you made me love kholrabi more that dill dip sounds good I feed it to my bearded dragon but I like it too. It’s so much better than turnips and some other veg.
I just tried Kohlrabi this year for the first time and I love it. Great tasting, almost kinda like a potato. Love to saute it up with other veggies but cook it to an almost mushy consistency. Your love for kohlrabi is not your own!
I would love to tell you how great kohlrabi cooks, but we only cook the leaves, and end up eating it fresh. We grow superschmelz, another giant and love it.
I've head good things about Superschmelz but have yet to grow it- I may have to try it this year. Do you have a favorite way to cook the leaves? I usually just sauté them- but would love to mix it up a little! Thanks and have great week!
So, Jenna. I am looking at my state's ag extension agency and it says I can plant those s,t from Aug 1 to Sep 15. Question, will that produce before the frost or is that meant to plant them super early for the next spring like, well strawberries or whatever. Let them over winter? I have no clue. Never messed with this plant.
Jules Small Gardening those will produce before (or slightly after) the frost in the fall. They are frost tolerant- think of them as the same timing and cold tolerance as cabbage.
Could not find it, so started some early white Vienna. Oh well. Hey, tagged you in my last video. You don't have to do it of course. Just an opportunity if you want.

Making me hungry for kohlrabi! Also, where can I get that hat? 🙂

@Growfully with Jenna Got it. Thanks you are the best!🙏
Are there a lot of pesticide residue on nonorganic call Robbie
Does it grow in winter
In my climate, no (Ohio, U.S.). It's a spring and fall crop here.
Can you tell me how to save seeds from kohlrabi please thanks

Jules Small Gardening oh good, I’m glad you started some! And I’ll absolutely do the video, I love the idea of the good, bad and ugly.
