The Akihiko VA discourse really doesn’t make sense to me. Both versions sound good, both fit the character. Just because he has a deeper voice, it doesn’t mean it was bad or “weird”. If the voice acting was scuffed on some goofy anime dub shit, I could understand the complaints (YongYea), but let’s not trash on actual talent
For real, they always trash the voice at every chance they get and not once think rationally of patiently waiting until they get to hear the performance in full. Imo Saab isn't even bad as Akihiko, I think he's done a very good job so far
The old voice gave off a specific vibe the new one doesn’t have as much. And the new does sound older. So I get why they’re upset. But also, that doesn’t mean the new VA can’t capture those same characteristics in a different way.
@@BelBelle468 The old voice reminds me of Gaara because Liam but I like Kaggy too, people are just really attached which is fair enough.
Personally I think the reasons Cyyu has so much discourse besides the jarring contrast of the two voices, is that his lines across the trailers sound inconsistent with each other, not just when he's shouting vs when he's talking
