I own this truck and handles nicely on road and off road. 40 mile Six hours off-road trail yesterday in Moab and highway drive from California to Phoenix to Moab with 17.1 mpg for trip so far including trails. I really like the AEV package for off-road.
All that money for the AEV package and they leave the 3:43 gears in it with 35 inch tires. Should be 4:10 minimum. They know that they are just cheap. Very hard on the transmission.
Back seat “extremely tight”? I’m 5”11 without any issues sitting behind myself! Guess you like to have ur legs stretched all the way out to were you can barely touch the peddles lol
I have one of these, and I really like it. A camera in the rear-view mirror would have been nice, but all I have to do is cock my head to the right (a little) and I can see behind me just fine. I'm actually glad the spare tire is where it is, because (I think) if the spare was underneath the truck, it would be a lot harder to change a 35-inch tire. The truck handles nice on and off the road and is very comfortable. The dealer did have to prove to me that this 2.7L Tubo engine had a scoat, and I'm glad to say that it does. The power is very linier...much like my V-twin Ducati 1098. Plus, GM recommends using 87 regular gas...that's a biggy with me. When I drive, I use my accelerator pedal much like I did with my 2008 6.2L Raptor...a light touch most of the time. My gas usage is about what I got with my 2017 XR2, so I'm pretty happy about that. To be fair, I did look at the Chevy Bison, the Toyota Trail Hunter and the Ford Ranger Raptor before I bought my present GMC, and I liked this GMC XT4X AEV the best out of the other three trucks.
Only problem I have with the colorado is that gm decided to put the super cheesy camo pattern in the dash. My mind nor my wife were able to get past it, and will get a canyon as a result.
I just bought a 2024 Colorado zr2 in the unique harvest bronze metallic color. Get lots of complements about how good the truck looks in that color. I am looking forward to taking it off roading this July 4th weekend in northeast th and over into Madison county,nc up by max patch. I am also living the upgraded boss Sheri system. I am so looking forward to seeing how good the multimatic spool valve suspension system works on our rough off road logging roads.
In the 1970's we use to call it "a holeshot" - done mostly with muscle cars (of course). Feet on both gas and brake, get the rear wheels spinning - then let go of the brake! In this age of corporate liability concerns, I am shocked GMC would condone/encourage such unsafe driver behavior.
Very nice looking truck but the back seating is just way too small for passengers and I think most people are buying that for looks and less for off roading
Yep. It's really capable. Yep. that white interior is terrible for an offroad truck. That interior is one of the main reasons that I went for a 2024 Canyon AT4 instead of an AT4X.
@@Sloimer people seem to be concerned about what they can afford monthly rather than the total cost. Imagine if you invested $1650 per month rather than throw it away on a truck? You would be wealthy in your 50s and able to purchase whatever you want.
@@carsinruin6102 That’s not my point. Most of these people buying on a payment are completely ignoring the principle and overextending themselves. I agree the interior is a little ridiculous. Too bad they didn't offer a variation of the Denali interior for this. Also, why doesn't the Denali get a leather wrapped dash and upper door trim? Feels very un-Denali without that.
Except this is better than the tremor off-road and better than the Ranger Raptor off-road when it comes to general purpose offroading. The only thing the Ranger Raptor is better at is high speed dune bashing. When it gets slow and technical or sloppy and slippery, this shines better.
Its beutiful, but not worth the price being so much more (substancially) in price then twin colorado. Why isnt the denally with the white interior? No one uses a denali to work, but yet they put a white interior for a off roading truck.....like logic ---> window 😅😅😅. Its only diff from the same top trim colorado are the colors and facia of the truck, what a fkn gimmick that it actually irritstes me! The fit and finish is NOT excellent. It has hard plastic all over the place, like a freaking 90's work truck. 70k for this??? Do yourself a favor and get the Colorado ZR2 and save almost 20k dollars. Plus, sorry GMC, but it just looks better and has the EXACT same Tech AND Engine. Absurd.
$68,000 plus taxes and fees ending up at $78,000 out the door!! Is Fucking Insane!!!!!

Horrible idea for the white interior. Especially on an off-roading built truck, can’t imagine how quick the interior would get dirty.
Terrible, and its a shame, it is a good looking truck.
I’d buy this truck if it wasn’t for the interior. Absolutely terrible decision. White for an off road truck???
