I know its been years since you made this video but I just wanted to say it has given me so much hope. I just had all my teeth pulled yesterday and got dentures. I've not ate in two days and was searching for a video that would tell me to hang in there because it gets better and this one did it. thank you so much.
My exact reaction as well. Its powerful as hell. Still havnt had the confidence to even attempt putting mine in yet. Couldnt stop my eyes from sweating especially after her handsome little son did his little cameo
The struggle is so real!!! I just got my upper teeth pulled and an immediate denture yesterday. It takes me forever to eat yogurt!! It's a whole other world! You give me hope. Thanks for sharing.
+Jennifer Langley It’s understandable to take time at first. My brother got his temps yesterday, and was struggling as well. Remember to be as patient as possible with yourself! Like any prosthetic, it’s going to take time to learn to heal, and work with it. You will overcome it though babe!!!!!
Girl I'm going in 2wks, and I'm still living on Mash potatoes and pudding. Had my tops reminded last week, and my bottoms removed 3days ago. I tried to eat a fry from Chick-fil-A couldn't do it
I work at Chick Fil a. It’s hard to eat those sometimes with experience. You will get there. It’s only hard at the beginning. Eventually, it’s just life and you don’t really think about it too much. Promise, you’ll get there!
Thank God we have Teeth and Dentures and implants struggles for life. People who have natural teeth, please take care of them. I find Dentists the worst animals as they want suck insurance companies for unnecessary treatment to fatten their pockets. They are sweet talkers but run a big scam like insurance auto body shops.
MOIN KAMAL that’s soooooooo True! Just had my lowers removed and went through hell at affordable denture dump. Still can’t eat anything kind of meat. Been 2 months. I’m over it at this point and decided I’ll eat without my lowers in period! I no this is bad but it’s have to have my meat.
I’m so sorry you’re going through this. At 2 months you really should be able to eat almost properly. It does take time, but 2 months seems like a bit longer than it should take. I know how frustrating it can be. I had to cut my meat very small at first, and concentrate hard at chewing. It wasn’t easy babe. Never give up though! You CAN do this.
Yah.... you wouldn't believe my story today. Went to my 12th Dentist to get an adscessed tooth removed. I am sooo sick from pain and stomach problems from several rounds of antibiotics/pain meds. He gave me a price 5-days ago for the extraction... I went to have it done today after crying all week and he adds something else that could happen along with another $1500 dollars which I don't have. I walked out and now I dont know what to do. 😢 That's why I'm watching dental videos but these are not bringing me much hope. I'm 62 and worried about facial sagging with dentures. Can't afford the implants. 😢
You’re not alone. I went to many dentists, and got no where. I’ve had my dentures for 2 years, and let me advise. Sinking face isn’t a big deal. I don’t think my face has even changed THAT much! It’s definitely changed, but not ridiculous, saggy, or crazy. I’ve lost 290 lbs in my life, so my skin is already saggy, but dentures didn’t change that much. Keep the hope alive love, do as much internet searching as possible love! Keep faith.
Kayla MyReason2Smile I finally received a new set of full lower dentures after having to raise hell for 2 months about first set never fitting at all! They kept trying to fix the temp lowers they gave me same day I had my lower teeth extracted and let me tell you these temps I paid $400 cash for looked like they belonged in someone else’s mouth! It has been ridiculously insane what AD has it me through. Like I said though I do have new lower temps now that actually somewhat fit after the did impressions finally, but I’m still unable to eat anything that requires chewing like meat. Steaks,, well forget about that! My steak days are over with looks like. Hamburger maybe but I have to brake it up into tiny pieces.. drives me nuts! Celery or any other kind of vegetable to forget it I can’t do it unless boiled and they turned to mush. At this point I’ve pretty much given up and just take them out and try chewing with my bottom gums which is extremely painful and I almost choked to death again yesterday just trying to eat an egg roll!
hi. i went without teeth for a year. took a year to heal and just got my dentures. and can't eat. ur an isnpiration. i am having such a hard time . and it hurt. . ty for the video
gingasnapz my mom had mouth surgery to remove a malignant tumor in her upper palate. They had to pretty much scoop everything. She looked like a hallowed out pumpkin. She had no teeth for a year, maybe a little longer. Then she got a prosthetic top denture. It was about two inches high to fill up that big space the doctors had to removed. She was one tough cookie, I will tell you. She never could eat any meat that was tough. She lived on a lot of yogurts, but the only time we even thought about her having that thing in her mouth was on the rare occasion she swallowed wrong and a piece of food got stuck up in the prosthetics. Cancer was cured and that is all my stepfather cared about. She lived for 30 years like that. My mom was tough but this problem was tough too. She lived 40 more years and enjoyed so much with my Pop at her side. If she can do that, we can learn to live with dentures.
You will be able to eat real good in the end and if you can not then something is WRONG. If you are still having trouble go back to your dentist and get him to have a look. Most people here are living and eating with dentures ok.
I have been looking for a video like this for a long time and I finally found You!! Thank you for being so "down to earth" and keeping it real. Subbed!
Susanne Chicken mom awe!!! Thank you so so so much!!! That's the whole reason I took the chance on it. I searched far and wide for months to find a video of what people looked like eating with Dentures. I wanted to fill a gap! Thank you for subscribing!!! I really do hope you enjoy the videos! I have an odd sense of humor, and speak my mind! Glad to have you as part of the family!
So I got my dentures March 18th and they finally have fixed them so that they don't hurt and I finally got to eat with them in. I was so proud of myself I just kept smiling and saying I'm finally eating! Lol thank you for helping me not give up this video has been the best way to keep me motivated
Im so proud of you! i cant wait till i can eat without them hurting but it is what it is and theeses are my teeth! although not the teeth that God game me but thankfull keep up the Awesome posts and nerming the misspull my keyboard is old ;) love and a smile
Thank you so much, just turned 40, and I have only 4 teeth left to get out, I had watched your video to get confidence to get this far but wearing mask have made me procrastinate, but I am watching again to go this last step. I'm tired of be depressed and low self esteem over it. So thank you for helping me do what Nike says. Just Do it.
I had a bottom partial for 2 years and had to take it out every time I ate. I couldn't chew and food got under it all the time. Now, on January 2, 2019, I'll be having full top and bottom extractions and immediate dentures. I can't eat for beans now. No chewing surface. No biting surface, so the foods you had difficulty with are me WITH TEETH on a good day. It can only get better.
So helpfu girll, I'm getting my uppers soon, about to starve here waiting for my gums to heal.. I can't wait to eat burgers again😉😉 Thanks for the info.
lori watkins That's exactly what I did!!! I spent like 1.5 years watching every video possible. I searched out a video like this because I wanted to see what it looked like to eat with them. Thank you so much for the amazing compliment!!!! You're so so so sweet.
@@MyReason2smile ok the dentest told me that they can do the permanent dentures same day as extractions n they will have to reline till they fit. N they told me they r the same as permanent.
Hey kayla! 2 months and I ate my first burger with lays chips...no adhesives and very little problems! My gums were a little sore the rest of the day but OH MAN! To actually eat a burger again! Thanks for keeping me focused on getting to the next milestone!
+gfreely Yay!! That first burger is like heaven on earth lol!!! I’m glad you ate it. Sometimes in life we just have to push through, and get to the other side! It’s not always comfortable, and easy. It can be downright hard!!!!! If you did that, you’ll have no issues moving to the victory! I’m so proud of you!!!! Keep pushing little by little, day by day! You got this!
I just got my top denture almost 2 wks and still have my bottom teeth. My issue is I have an underbite and it's not lining up to the top denture. I'm scared to eat cause I don't want to choke. Do you have any suggestions?
Holygirlg yes love!!! It's really real! I don't pretend it's all good and perfect! It can be super hard, messy, and wild! Thank you so much for the sweet comment beautiful!!!!
I appreciate your honesty about the process. I am shortly going to have removal and dentures so I really appreciate the experiences of those who have gone before.
This video has given me some hope. I just got my dentures no word of a lie at 1:30 pm today and it's nearly 5pm and the way I feel right now is that it's going to be impossible to eat with these things in my mouth they had a lot of trouble making my dentures because of my mouth size the overbite I had and the denturist said that my bottoms will never sit without adhesive it's going to be a learning curve thats for sure.
+KoolBreeze420 learning curves are ok! I had the same though. The first meal I ate was a mess. I thought omg, I'll never eat again like this. Then I glued them in and it wasn't a problem! After you get a soft reline, it really helps the whole situation. It gets better! Promise 😍
You sweetie are precious. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. Your down to earth honesty is so helpful to erase the stigma associated with dentures. Love you AND your little boy is gorgeous, like his mama.
I think you are such a blessing to give us all hope. Thank you so much for sharing this with me and everyone else. You are silly and funny. And your son is such a handsome little Man. God Bless You Dear One.
You have to learn how to eat again and you can not do that until your mouth finishes healing. Unfortunately we all have 2 lumps of plastic where our teeth were and this takes some time to make them eat sort of like our old teeth did. It is the same as putting square wheels on your car. They still go around but it is not as good as your old round wheels were.
I love this video and can relate totally. In three weeks my new dentures will arrive and I am grateful I have an idea of what challenges are ahead, small bites for sure. Thank you for being totally REAL and covering this subject matter. It is beneficial.
Thank you for your video. You are wonderful for bringing this video to so many. I've searched a few. I have a partial top one and just eating small amounts and I can see through you that it gets better 🤗
I have same problem cause I got dentures almost a month ago. Those scared of the process! 8 months ago, had last upper 8 then removed! Scary process but have the attitude from 3 others who said: THey are not chopping your neck off and 3 weeks after dentures you will still be alive! Advice I am giving!
That is good advice! This will not kill us! We are strong people who have already been through hell and back. Surely we can overcome a little more pain lol.
Girl you look good & thanks for the vids. I finally found a dental care place that’ll do all my extractions & Dentures for people Disabled & on Low Income. My 1st appointment is 3 days away!! I’m ready! I’m 47 & haven’t been able to bite anything in over 17yrs. I always cut my food into little pieces
Pammy Soong well since you're a female... I'll say no. Now if a dude asked me that I would probably block them 😂 I've gotten some strange messages! I was thinking of doing another one for my 2 month mark. How I've progressed and gained the ability to try various foods. I'm going to eat steak this month for sure! Also since I'm going on a cruise, I'll be able to film like 1000 different food types. So for you yes love! I'll make another video.
I was going to ask the same question, but got my answer from your reply to Pammy lol. I'm 3 weeks out and every time I try eating they get loose and food gets under them smh
You giving me hope that I can eat with my upper dentures. At first I was kind of scared but now with seeing your video I'm more confident with it. Thanks!!! ❤❤❤
You can and will do it. No matter what happens just remember. It’s not all that easy. And the show must go on. You can do anything you put your mind too. Not just a cliche, but a true testimony. You’re strong!
@@MyReason2smile Definitely!!! ❤❤❤ I have been eating with them but your video made me more encouraged and confident. True facts!! I love my dentures they brought my smile back!!!
You are beautiful inside and out. Thank you for sharing your journey, its been SO HELPFUL and inspiring. Hopefully soon I can have a beautiful smile like yours and not be ashamed to smile. God bless and thanks again for all the videos😁💗🙏
Very good idea to show different food! Thank you! Do you never use and need adhesives? What material they are? Bad chemicals? How do they change eating? or other issues?
I didn’t ever need adhesive with my temps. I choose to use it now, because it’s just easier to go about my day without it. I don’t really have issues speaking now, unless it’s just my own tripping over words. I don’t know what the material is, but it tastes like a nail salon smells. It will also make your food taste like it for a little bit too. It goes away, but at first the taste is all over the place. The soft reline changes everything. It’s supposed to make it easier to live. It did for me. Didn’t ever use adhesive after my first reline.
Cathy Normand , I’ve had mine for two weeks. If I may ask you, what do you prefer, fixodent or polident? Since you’ve had yours a little longer, I’m just curious what other “newbies” think of their denture products. I seriously think I’m going to starve to death!! Lol!!
@@hippiemamadesa3014 I have had mine for 4 months and tried everything but crazy glue lol I guess i need to go back to the dentist for resizing or whatever they do.
Thank you so much for sharing! I need full-on dentures and eating was my biggest concern and fear. I feel a little better with the possibilities of eating now. You're so brave and we truly appreciate it!
Bless you for doing this. So grateful for such a supportive community!!! Thanks for putting yourself out there. Your teeth are gorgeous? May I ask what set? Where you got them done?
Pammy Soong Absolutely! Thank you for the sweet comment. I got regular immediate's. I went to a place called 210 denture in San Antonio T.X. I paid 800 for the full set. The permanent will be another 8-900 for the portrait pretty ones..... I think!
Hi Kayla, awesome video. Im getting my teeth pulled and immediate dentures in 3 weeks. Its been quite the journey. Nervous? Very! But Im taking the time to learn what I can to make the transition as smooth as possible. I can see that your videos will be very helpful. I love your attitude. Very strong and positive. What I would like to know is why did you not use glue/fixodent? Thanks, Joe :)
Thank you for this video, I just am entering the "cant eat or chew" stage of dentures and I really appreciate your candor and tips for learning all the stuff that i have to learn,
I'm struggling just trying to talk. I'm 4 days post extraction day. I have been to the dentist every day this week one was scheduled today was not. The reason for going in was the denture was gagging me talking. I have yet to try eating with it. I only have the top
I thank you wonderful people for these vids. im 49 and very close too full and im scared. I have infections in my teeth often and i'm tired of fighting it. infection is not good and i'm stubborn.
diva 123 Oh thank God! I was so worried like people would be super grossed out with eating noises. I know people who are super weird about it. Thank you so much for this. I worked hard to edit out the sounds and not talk toooo much with food in my mouth. I can be a lady sometimes 😂
Omg. I just cried watching this. I had 6 removed 2 weeks ago. Im having 8 removed tomorrow and then the rest and dentures 2 weeks out. I needed to see this!! Thank you! Im so nervous. But so deeply excited too.
This video was extremely helpful and encouraging. I am a two-time cancer survivor and all the chemo I had to go through literally hollowed out my teeth. They were crushing and cracking or just breaking off even if I ate something soft. So I had to get the remaining rotted teeth pulled out and fitted for dentures I just turned 40 and when I tell you I am so embarrassed because naturally everybody thinks it's because of drugs or not taking care of your teeth. I just had my final fitting and I get my permanent set next week but they feel awkward in my mouth and I feel like they're huge. I can't even imagine eating with them yet. But this was very positive and encouraging and I will post some results soon. Thank you so much for sharing
I came across your video when I first got my full dentures at Thanksgiving 2019 at a time when I was a bit discouraged because eating was so difficult at first. I was determined to eat with the full set in my mouth and in spite of the early discomfort I persevered I'm happy to report that 6 months later I am not only able to eat but I can now eat corn on the cob straight from the cob and not have to cut it off! I can also bite into apples now too as long as I peel the skin off first! It's now a joy to be able to eat like I used to be able to eat when I had my own natural teeth.I do get some clicking of my teeth depending on the food but I really don't care if my mouth clicks from time to time I can enjoy my food!!! Thank you for posting this.. It was a huge help in me not giving up on the process of getting used to my dentures
OMG you are too cute!! Soo funny and so real! I'm having my extractions done this Thursday and I am terrified!! I've had bad teeth my entire life, and at 51, I have finally found the bravery to go do it. One concern is the oral surgeon who my dentist sent me to, has no bedside manner and seemed totally rude, this makes me even more afraid. I have New York State Medicaid, so I'm not even sure if I have many alternatives. Your video is fun, funny, interesting and intelligent (yes intelligent) but most of all, inspiring! Thank you, I'm going to watch the rest of your video's, and will more than likely email you. Thank you so much sweetie!!
I didn’t know NY covered them. That’s amazing. You do have choices love. It’s your body, and your mouth. He can recommend someone, but if you’re not comfy with this person, it’s hard. My dentist was very cut and dry at first..... but I made him laugh, and it was on from there. You can do this, and please do email me. I’ll give you my number and you can text if you have any questions.
thank you thank you thank you... I have my dentures in the making... and will have my teeth in a few more appointments... I am trying to prepare and learn as much as I can about speaking and eating.... loved that you demonstrated different types of food
+MaryAnn Boyd Absolutely!!! I was super curious when I was in the process. Filling a void where I saw one. You’ll do great! Humans are highly adaptable creatures. We were made to overcome!
Thanks, this was helpful. I'm three weeks out and haven't tried eating with them in. They rock too much. Soft reline isn't for a while yet. Trying tonight. I just starting using Sea Bond today. You look beautiful, great smile!
I had 13 uppers yanked in mid-December and went home with my dentures in my mouth. Problem was, my lower plate could not be fully placed over my gums and I can't believe they sent me home knowing that they didn't fit at all. I had to come back the same day with my mouth bleeding and hurting until the dentist took a look at the plate and immediately called to arrange for the bottom plate to be redone. It took 10 weeks until I got it back and what a difference! I already know that I've got some fit issues with it but I'll give it a little time to see how my gums adjust. I know there's no way I could even think about tackling a burger the way you did (the way EVERY normal person eats a burger). It sucks having to cut stuff up into little bites but it DOES get the job done. My wife's lucky in that she never has to use the goop, hers just fit right by themselves. Funny the things you took for granted, like being able to whistle properly or bite some dead skin off your lip. Ah, getting old BITES!
Getting old does bite lol. You will get to the point of “normal” it just takes time. I had an amazing fit right off the bat and that’s the major difference. It will get better!
I’m getting ready to have mine done 6/20/30 and I’m sooooo scared 😟 but this video helping me deal. I’m so sad that I’m losing all my upper teeth and some lower. But I’ll survive. THANK YOU!!!
What are you using to keep them from moving? I have so many sore spots, I end up taking them out and eating what I can. I still have my natural teeth on the bottom front so I have a partial on the bottom. Just sitting with them in, hurts. When I yawn, my uppers will fall. I've tried adhesive strips but they're nasty. It's been just over a year, I won't go out anywhere but the grocery store, I certainly wouldn't go out for dinner. It's very discouraging. And painful.
It shouldn’t be like that!!! Something isn’t right. My top partials would stay I , but bottoms sucked with a capital suck. I was using the fixodent ultra. It worked wonders for me.
You're so brave. I no longer even eat with my family because I have to reglue my teeth multiple times during a meal. When they make me go out for dinner I always pick a corner booth away from other diners and cameras so nobody sees me bend down to reglue them under the table. 😔
any advice i had full tooth extraction now dentures its been 4 weeks and i can only have soup and mashed potatoes? i tried wonton soup and couldnt chew the wontons
I’m 4 days post op and I’ve been able to eat oatmeal and soup - I finally ate spaghetti - but not with regular pasta, I made it with cheese tortellini. It was okay, but painful because my bottom partial kept floating and hurting. I need help so I don’t give up on regular food. My first adjustment was yesterday - they were digging into my lower gums and the roof of my mouth and they were both soooo tight. The lady fixed them and now they have felt much better throughout the day.
Thank you so much for this video. I learnt a lot, specially because you really showed it in a daily normal way. I watched a few video about eating with dentures, but yours is really great. I am happy to found you and i will check more from you now ❤
alot of people think they taste there food thru the taste buds in there tongue but really you dont taste it till it hits the roof of your mouth,do you taste your food with dentures having that top plate? you made that burger and fries look so good.
I have 0 issues with taste. My palate is covered, but I think my mouth has just adapted. That burger and fries are so good. I highly recommend going to Culver’s if you get the chance. It’s cheap, and amazing.
Your videos are helping me so much I was told last week I was gonna have to have full uppers and partial lowers and cried forever and starting looking at videos urs Amanda's and one other person has helped me come to terms that it won't be that bad and I want want to had my smile anymore
Omg you made that look so easy!! Ok there’s hope for me in a few weeks🙏🙏 Also , and I’m not saying this in a weird creeper way!!! Just as a mom , you have the cutest chewing, reminded me of my youngest.
Thanks for sharing your videos, you're adorable for taking time to share all of these great tips, you make me feel much better with my upper denture.... Smiles to you beautiful lady. :)
I won't be getting full set of dentures right away I'm going to wait it out them get mine the problem I'm haveing is my diet is mostly raw and I'm terrified once I get my full set I won't be able to eat any of the foods I eat now I will have to change my diet please help!!? I just need to know won't they break if you eat apples, raw veggies? Or is there away to still eat these
Absolutely! I can eat everything. Raw baby carrots can be difficult, but not impossible. It just takes some time. At first you could just blend your raw fruits and veggies up. Not an issue. Don’t let fear stop you!
Kayla MyReason2Smile I just didn't want to break them and have to find the funds to fix them just because I wanted to eat lol well I'm getting them then!! Thanks!
Great video thanks! I am not used to my dentures yet because i have not worn them yet! Lazy me. I love the best part when you don't even use glue to keep them in--thanks. I shall follow your lead.
Good on you girl! God love you! I thoroughly learn't from that, i got my new dentures yesterday ( Australia) and lol i have not eaten yet with them); I'm scared.
Tessa Logan .....How has your first week gone? I’m now day 3. All I’ve eaten is scrambled eggs, cup noodles & last night Singapore noodle w/prawns (I sliced them thinly). I struggle with the thickness on my palate & gagging. From a fellow Aussie.
I’m terrified of all of it. Just had impressions and my partial upper and full lower will soon be ready. And six teeth on the bottom pulled then. Terrified.
Kayla MyReason2Smile I had my wax fitting today to see how my bite was. It wasn’t terrible to have it in my mouth. Another week and I get the real ones! I’m excited!
I have to thank you so much for your videos, they have helped so much to relieve my anxieties and worries about getting dentures fitted. Now I am not so worried about having my new teeth fitted in a few weeks and in fact a little excited now. Thank you ❤️
I had to heal up 2 months before I put my top plate in...I kept having bone spurs work thru....I finally get the out n wear my teeth a couple days and the pain when I took them out nearly took the top of my head off, I know have 3 more pieces of bone on my left side trying to work out, I can even flick them with my finger nail but they just won't come out!!! Can anyone give me some advice here, I'm sick of not eating solid foods....
I was told to take small bites and I bit my hamburger also lol, but couldn't cut threw the onion.. only been a week for me and I find it so hard. also, I can't eat unless I glue the bottoms, pops everytime.. thanks for video for us newbies
Does food taste different not being able to feel the heat up top? I know that sounds like a dumb question lol. I'm waiting for my gums to heal to get my upper plate in about 4 weeks
Thanks for your reply I ate a bit of chicken today but it was really hurting you have been a great help to me I started watching you all on RUclips before my extractions and you've all been a god send thank you x
JUNE REYNOLDS that's so awesome you ate some chicky chicken!! It does hurt babe, that I can tell you. I ate today and it hurt for some reason. I have a high tolerance to pain though. You will absolutely get there. Just takes time. I'm so glad you have gotten something from me! That's my whole goal... give more than you take, and it comes full circle.
I think its great your doing these videos and helping others who are going through the same thing! Although I dont have dentures now I know that one day I will.
Thank you so much for this!! I got my full set of dentures last week, the top fits great but the bottom just pops right out...bought fixodent today and these suckers are in good now lol! Going to try actually eating something tonight, wish me luck!
Thank you so much for your video. I just got a top denture and am trying to figure out how to eat. I find myself pulling the denture out instead of trying to eat with it in. I'm just going to have to practice with it in no matter how incomfortable it is. Thank you again for your video.
I’ve always heard... to get to the other side, you have to get through the storm. That’s the hardest part. When everything looks dark, is when it’s easiest to want to give up! Push through, you are stronger than you’ll ever know.
I learned how to use my jaw, cheek, and tongue to keep them in place. There were times I would use my tongue to hold the denture in place and chew very slowly. Depending on what you eat it’s difficult.
This video is helping me so much. So do I have to only use my front teeth? Like don't try to use my side or back? What about popcorn or apple slices or like beef? Thank you.
I had my lower jaw done about 8 weeks ago & Iam still struggling to eat anything solid I can eat chicken thigh & boiled eggs the rest is like yogo’s ice cream jelly with bits of fruit in it and I’ve still got ulcers but apparently I have a small jaw
With temporary ones I find it impossible to eat. I am very discouraged. They hurt and give me a headache after 1 hr. What kind do you have? Where the permanent better than temporary and if so how much better. Thank you!
The perms are def better than temps. They are made to be more comfy, and after you’ve healed up. So better fitting. They used to cause all sorts of problem. Tired jaw, headaches, soreness, drooling. The perms are a game changer. Something to look forward to!
Wow that's actually pretty good , she can take bites of things , I have had mine a month and I cant eat with the bottoms in, or take bites out of anything. The bottoms keep coming up no matter how much glue I use when I try and eat, csnt wait to be able to eat like her . Thanks
You’ve got this. It took me a couple weeks to get food even a little. I used to sit and cry that I would never eat again. I never stopped trying or backed down. Stay persistent, and you got this! Start Tiny and build over time. I was not expecting it to be the way it was after, but you will learn and adapt.
I have just started the same journey you are on! I just had all my teeth pulled 3 days ago. They told me it would be around 2 months to heal completely! Good luck to you!!
Eating is one of the biggest issues with dentures in my opinion. Everything seems to take a different technique to over come. I used to use my tongue to hold the dentures in place and chew very slowly. Bread is a sticky food so anything flour will take extra time to master.
Just got upper and bottom full extractions with immediate dentures. So far, I’m drinking boost and eating jello cause my gums start bleeding even with light chewing motions. Going to see my denturist in a couple of hours

Innocent til proved guilty
Exactly! If it’s impossible to prove guilty, then people grasp at straws. Throwing their opinions around as fact. We live in an ignorant world.
A YEAR???????????
gingasnapz my mom had mouth surgery to remove a malignant tumor in her upper palate.
Gingasnapz why can't you eat?
You will be able to eat real good in the end and if you can not then something is WRONG. If you are still having trouble go back to your dentist and get him to have a look. Most people here are living and eating with dentures ok.
Girl I just feel your struggle when you eat. I thought I was the only one. Welcome to the club.
A lot more people need to see this. Way way wayyy more encouraging than I could have hoped. Great video madame.💯👍👏👏
Thank-you ever so much for this video. I really appreciate it a lot. Now, here's to putting my top dentures in tomorrow!
How did it go? I’ve heard people say to put the Denture in the freezer then put them in. Helps with swelling.
@@MyReason2smile oh wow!! Im trying that!!
So helpfu girll, I'm getting my uppers soon, about to starve here waiting for my gums to heal.. I can't wait to eat burgers again😉😉
Thanks for the info.
Oh me too. I cant wait to eat anything .but my teeth keep slipping. Wana cry
@@cynthiapitts7288 it gets better. It is temporary, and these are training wheels! You’ll do fine.
You remind me of my niece, you are so pretty....I'm getting dentures soon, so I'm watching as many videos to prepare me...Thanks
lori watkins I did too good luck on your journey
lori watkins That's exactly what I did!!! I spent like 1.5 years watching every video possible. I searched out a video like this because I wanted to see what it looked like to eat with them. Thank you so much for the amazing compliment!!!! You're so so so sweet.
I'm getting emediate dentures.. so r they ur permanent dentures? Not the temporary ones?
Immediate dentures are the same as temporary, yes. Permanent dentures take a couple months to get after healing.
Km
Do you not feel textures like crunchiness anymore?
I just got my top denture almost 2 wks and still have my bottom teeth. My issue is I have an underbite and it's not lining up to the top denture. I'm scared to eat cause I don't want to choke. Do you have any suggestions?
amazing intro💕 I could have used this when I first got mine. very nice video. the struggle is real.
Holygirlg yes love!!! It's really real! I don't pretend it's all good and perfect! It can be super hard, messy, and wild! Thank you so much for the sweet comment beautiful!!!!
@@MyReason2smile So glad i found your channel!! Im on day ONE. LMAO my challenges are just beginning!!
Valerie Mercer wow, you're so so so incredibly sweeeeeet! Thank you. This is the most incredible group on people! I'm lucky!!! Thank you love ❤️
I'm getting dentures next month...watching ur videos have made me feel better. Thank you. Hope u are doing well. Hi from Minnesota!
I think you are such a blessing to give us all hope. Thank you so much for sharing this with me and everyone else. You are silly and funny. And your son is such a handsome little Man. God Bless You Dear One.
I'm 53 yrs old and I swear I can't remember chewing on my left side lol I'm so excited but so nervous
I'm one week out and OMG i miss food!! I was actually able to eat a BBQ sandwich and fries from Cookout today! I really miss burgers and tacos!
Thank you so much! I’m glad I can help!
Is it weird to ask for another video of you eating more and different things?
Thank you for this , I am in my first week of post extraction and watching this gives me hope, I look forward to more of your videos.

@@browneyes5666 Glue is BAD. Go on ask me how I know.
Yesssssss!!!!!

You’re so welcome. You deserve this!!
I love you girl! Your so strong! Love your videos! I subscribed and smashed that like button. xoxox
You’re so sweet! Thank you beautiful 🥰😍
How do they change eating? or other issues?
and never problems with speaking?
I hope partials are not so much different. Despite that actually, anything is different.
Didn’t ever use adhesive after my first reline.
omg, you are fantastic, I have been feeling so down about my dentures, you have made me feel so much better, thank you from the bottom of my ❤️
I’m so glad!!!! Don’t be sad, it gets better.
I am 3 weeks with my dentures, and I am so looking forward to eating that burger!!!
Thank you so much for making this video!!! You are AWESOME!!!
You will be able to eat, it’s just a matter of what
Bless you for doing this.
I think!
I love the video. Thank you! I get my teeth in 2 more weeks. You encourage me that it is going okay. I was freaking out only a few moments ago.😙
Thank you for having the utmost confidence to help others. You have no idea how much this video has helped me. Dentures or not your a beautiful person
Thank you beautiful. When you’re happy, it’s easy to have fun and be yourself.
Thank you for this video, I just am entering the "cant eat or chew" stage of dentures and I really appreciate your candor and tips for learning all the stuff that i have to learn,
No problem! How are things going? I promise it gets better
It's so good to watch a vid of someone eating AND with dentures that didn't gross me out, pretty lady too. Xx
diva 123 Oh thank God!
It’s such a confusing stance. Nervous exited, but ready. You got this!!! How did it go?
Thank you for this. I have a week till I get mine, and I'm terrified lol. Not of pain, but of relearning sooo many things.
It takes time! That’s for sure. You will eventually master it all though. Nothing I can’t eat.
I get mine tomorrow. I’m having a case of the nerves. You lightened up my night thanks. Your so funny. Love ya.
Thank you! You’ll do great. The fear and anxiety is all built up in our heads. You got this!
Katja from your post im thinking all oral surgeons are A holes!!!! Mine was so bad my husband contacted a competitor and we finished with them.
thank you thank you thank you...
Thank you sweetheart! Take your time, it’s a learning curve situation. I didn’t just start eating the first day. It took time to get chubby lol!!!
I sure hope so as, right now, these things are only good for hand to hand combat 🤣.
Thank you for this I have had dentures for 10 years, and have only wore them 3times😩I’m gonna give it a go again wish me luck!!
I believe in you!! You got this! It takes time and patience, but you can do it!
I’m getting ready to have mine done 6/20/30 and I’m sooooo scared 😟 but this video helping me deal. I’m so sad that I’m losing all my upper teeth and some lower. But I’ll survive. THANK YOU!!!
I got mine 6 days ago .. no pain still can’t really eat .
You gave me hope and courage! yesterday I took a bite into a burger, Its been years since ive done that! the experience was almost orgasmic! thanks!!
That makes me so happy! I totally understand the feeling. It’s out of this world! I’m so glad I could help in my own way! I’m proud of you!
I have tried eatting with mine, I don't know when the food is chewed up before I swallow.
Thank you so much for this video. I learnt a lot, specially because you really showed it in a daily normal way. I watched a few video about eating with dentures, but yours is really great. I am happy to found you and i will check more from you now ❤
Absolutely beautiful lady.... ...love your confidence. Getting mine soon. Can't wait! Thanks for the video!
You are awesome to watch! And funny.. Great info, thx for sharing this ❤❤❤
alot of people think they taste there food thru the taste buds in there tongue but really you dont taste it till it hits the roof of your mouth,do you taste your food with dentures having that top plate? you made that burger and fries look so good.
Ok there’s hope for me in a few weeks🙏🙏
Also , and I’m not saying this in a weird creeper way!!! Just as a mom , you have the cutest chewing, reminded me of my youngest.
My chewing gum always gets stucked and I find it difficult chewing with my front teeth
Thanks for sharing your videos, you're adorable for taking time to share all of these great tips, you make me feel much better with my upper denture.... Smiles to you beautiful lady. :)
Thank you love!!!!
I'm at 3 weeks and tried chewing today. I couldn't tell if the food was chewed and I swear I've forgotten how to chew. This is going to be fun.
It’s definitely fun. Like a new born baby giraffe, you’re learning all over. It’s wobbly and messy at first, but you’ll be graceful eventually.
I have top partials and it ducked in the beginning. Only thing is getting food stuck now.
Thanks!
I just want to say that the struggle is real. I’ve had mine for about 16 months and they won’t stay in for nothing and hurt when I eat
That's so sad 😢
Great video thanks! I am not used to my dentures yet because i have not worn them yet! Lazy me. I love the best part when you don't even use glue to keep them in--thanks. I shall follow your lead.
Thank you so much for this. I'm going to have to get them soon and I feel so much better knowing I'm not alone out there. You look fabulous!
Hi Kayla. I normally just use a knife to cut my food in slices and take small bites. I have soft liners also and it works well.
I’m terrified of all of it. Just had impressions and my partial upper and full lower will soon be ready.
And six teeth on the bottom pulled then. Terrified.
Don’t be terrified! It’s really not the worst thing in the world. I’ve felt more pain before this event. You can do this!
How to keep lower denture in without gluing
Why????
Mini dental implants
Thank you very much. I just had my new dentures and you give me a lot of courage and hope
I just got uppers waiting on the swelling to go down. My uppers touch my bottoms when I chew is that common
Your upper teeth touch your bottom teeth? Yes that’s supposed to happen
I have a question how can you eat without your dentures moving around? Since they are loose?
I had my teeth pulled a week ago and had dentures all ready to go. My Dentist is still adjusting them and is getting easier to eat finally.
I had my teeth pulled out 2 months ago going to get my teeth tommorrow
That my friend.. was a BOSS decision... Seriously, you did well.
I have just started the same journey you are on! I just had all my teeth pulled 3 days ago. They told me it would be around 2 months to heal completely! Good luck to you!!
I just got new dentures last pair I go couldn’t even wear I’m trying to eat with the new ones but idk how to any tips
