Hi there! I’m 50, and have always had a tendency to be just a little vain. I just found this channel while researching dental implants. I’m so happy I found you bc of what you said about the bone loss. Thank you!
You’re welcome. It def matters to the point that I have thought about chin implants if it’s even possible to shape out my jaw again. It matters to me, so getting implants would def be the route for you if you care about it.
@@MyReason2smile I hadn’t realized until I’ve just now begun to seriously search for a real solution to my constant abscesses, and teeth that often chip, break or completely come out when I eat! @@MyReason2smile thank you! It’s super expensive! But I’ve begun the process with a prosthetic dental implant specialist! I’m putting 20k down, and financing the other 25k! It’s going to be worth being able to eat again!
So sorry that happened but damn, they should make dentures out of stronger material! A crunchy granola bar isn’t that hard. So I guess hard candy, and ice cubes are a huge no.
Good morning Kayla! It’s so nice to see you again on RUclips, the only thing that’s really sad for me is that I see these problems with your teeth and maybe, of course, it’s not your fault as the dentures themselves, which it’s time to change. When my dentures were put in, the dentist said that they would need to be replaced in about 5 years, although my mother had her dentures last changed in 2015 and they still work well for her.
You’re so kind! I feel like it’s def my fault since I chewed those mints all the time.. I am pretty mad at myself about it too. I was told they would need to be replaced in about the same amount of time, but I was not wanting to do it. They aren’t cheap by any means, I’m glad your mom is still holding on though.
Hi Kayla! I wanted to let you know, Truly how much you have helped me and many others. Jesus led me to your channel about a week ago, and I appreciate all of your videos, and you have a Beautiful personality! It would be nice to have a fundraiser, I would love to donate something for your new dentures. Maybe you can insert a donate button on your RUclips. You are so sincere, it would be nice to give back💕 thank you for everything. God Bless you always!
Hey love! That is amazing, I love a Devine appointment set by our savior. You are incredibly kind and I am grateful from the bottom of my heart. You are incredibly generous, I truly appreciate it. I think you can search by email Cupcake2586@gmail.com is what it’s connected to. Don’t want to put the number in the public because I can already smell the creepy texts lol
Oh WOW … I have the exact same habit crunching down on mint sweets ‼️. My last set of dentures wore right down and I am breaking in a new set currently . Trying my best to beat the mint habit now 🤣. I am fortunate in that I get my dentures for free on the NHS ( UK)💐
It’s a terrible habit to have, it got so bad I would chew ice just for the crunch to try and stop with mints. You def aren’t alone, but I thought I for sure was. You can do it!! Sometimes I still crave them knowing even one could break them and I would be toothless. I’m glad you get them free. Nothing is America is free 😩

I guess I've done the same, because I have that same chip out of my partial but I just had another tooth extracted so I am in need of a new partial anyway. I had just assumed it was normal wear and tear over the years. How long did you have your dentures before this happened?
@@sandyseibelhager7131 I had partials and I hated them immensely. I would take full dentures any day, all day, and twice on Sundays. I hope you have a good experience like I did.
@@Cupcaketrader I hated my first partial and never wore it because all the missing teeth were in back. Then I lost a more visible tooth and had my partial remade and I wear it all the time now. Of course I’d rather have my real teeth. I thought I’d be in full dentures by now but I know the day will come as I’m running out of teeth to hold a partial
It’s a good thing you have some teeth left. Hang on to that bone structure as long as you can if that’s what’s best for you now. I def think the dentist who makes them also makes the difference in the experience. I was on Medicaid when I got the partial and it was awful.
I just got some beautiful replacement Dentures from a place called Dentures today in South Florida, their amazing they will take your old dentures and do a 3D scan and they can make a exact replica of your old Dentures or they just do a 3D scan of your mouth if you don't have your old dentures and they fit perfect!
Also I wouldn't be hard on yourself by option for reg dentures.. I see videos on SM all the time of people who have implants with A TON OF ISSUES AND STILL HAS A TON OF SHRINKING
That def sucks… they preach to preserve the bone to get implants and then 20-50k later to still have issues is unacceptable in my humble opinion. My dentist said they would be 20k for 4 on top and bottom. I will likely take him up on that offer.
I checked the one in Winter Haven… I’m on the verge of doing that since my dentist never called me back. I know Aspen and Affordable heavily in Polk co

I’m excited for your journey to start super quick too. I am not far from Jacksonville so I may hit her up on Facebook. We’re friends on there but I haven’t talked to her in forever. I’m so glad you refreshed my memory on her, so thank you so much. The scary part of this journey is leading up to extractions. After that you know you will never feel the type of pain you did again.
I know exactly what you mean I have the same problem with my face I did get 4 implants on the bottom which has helped a lot I pray you find a good Dentist ❤
I used to put mine in early in the morning so by the time it was 14-16 hours later they came out pretty easy. Another way is to literally pry them out, or you can try and swish with hot water to loosen them a bit. It can be a nightmare
I did the same thing. My dentist did tell me it could affect the suction of the denture itself but I had no problems until my weight started to fluctuate. Now they’re super lose but it’s been like 6 years and could be from a number of things. Personally if it helped you, I don’t think it’s a mistake.

Kayla, I'm so sorry. You're so precious, I hate that this happened to you. I never knew this could happen with dentures until just the other day my husband told me that his got kind of smoothed out from eating Boston peanuts (peanuts with like a hard candy coating) and he doesn't have sharp teeth for cutting food now. I'm getting temporaries in 3 weeks. Thank you for sharing this warning. You are a very caring person. I hope you find a great dentist who will let you in on the decisions like for the pair you have now.

are you crafty? can follow directions? willing to do some basic research? make your own dentures like the techs do at the lab, that's what I decided to do. it cost me about 30 dollars in materials for my upper and I suspect it will be about 30 dollars for the lower. Btw if you learn how dentures are made you can wear your dentures out over and over and just make more.. it is so not complicated.
I can be crafty, but I’m not good with directions lol! I always fail 20 times and then fix it. I have never heard anyone say they made their own, you’re very talented.
for me it was a matter of saving money, I was quoted in my area for a top plate only was $3,200 what I actually spent was $30 and maybe 14 hours of my time which is a savings of $3170 dollars so it was worth it, at least for me. I showed my completed upper plate to my dentist who pulled my teeth and he said he was impressed so I guess it went very well. One last thing the teeth come on wax cards, they are divided into anterior and posterior upper or lower. Price wise the front 6 upper teeth can be anywhere between 1.25 to 20.00 dollars for those . I bought the 1.25 teeth and they look just fine.@@MyReason2smile

Hi. I don't even know if you will read this. I just came across your video. As a complete stranger, I want to tell you that my first thought was, oh my she is so pretty. I was just listening to you talk and thinking how your eyes are beautiful and so is your skin. I didn't know you before but, I just want you to know that a person's first impression of you is that you're just a doll. I'm just starting this process and I'm 61 years old. I just want you to know that it's all relative. You are honing in on something that only you know. So, if you walked past me in a store and smiled, I would just think that I had just walked past the very pretty woman. So, please understand that when you hit 50, your life starts to fly by. I have no memory of 50 to 60 because, for the first 5 years I was taking care of my husband after he woke up from a coma. Then, the last five years I've been all alone as a widow. I've been trying to figure out how to live a very lonely life. You didn't make this video to make me feel better. But, you did. So, I'll keep my dentures clean and I won't eat anything crunchy and I'll be blessed that I have pretty teeth when they're in. And, I have to learn to love myself when they're not in. I hope you get this. Take good care of yourself because, you're healthy and pretty. So many people are neither. 💕 My mom just passed away 7 months ago and she was 87 years old. She had every single one of her original teeth. Life is a series of unknowns. I pray your life is happy and healthy and that you laugh a lot. I haven't laughed in over 4 years. ❤

At least for me, I’ve been through way worse trauma so it’s wasn’t that bad. It wasn’t fun, but you will absolutely make it through. You are incredibly strong and capable to overcome anything. I’m so sorry for the loss of your husband, it’s never something I would wish for anyone.
@@MyReason2smile thanks for being the person u are hon and I hope u find a trustworthy dentist here. I know after all I've been through the one thing I haven't lost is my faith knowing somehow things will work out. Hey they say any day above ground is a good day 😌 ✨ and being 65 I count my blessings. Each day I get up is a blessing because some people didn't so keep posting your inspirational stories because lord knows some of us need to hear from sweethearts like yourself. God bless 🙏
You are seriously so kind! Thank you for being you as well. I am a big believer in being grateful. Life is hills and valleys and you’re correct, every day above ground is a good day. I thank God for waking me up and giving me chance after chance to follow his plan for life.
If I can finance a car, I’m now realizing that a healthier bright smile is also work paying off if that’s what I’m gonna have to do!
It’s def an option if you can do it. It’s worth it to be pain free, smiling, and happy.
I’m not all together tech savvy with those type of things and it never came to mind. I have normal stuff like cash app, Venmo, and Zelle but otherwise I’m not too familiar with other stuff.
Hi Kayla,
I have Zelle, let me know . I can send you something right away.
@@MyReason2smile The NHS is dying TBH , and dentistry is suffering badly , many of our NHS dentists now going private . I fear we will end up just like you guys sooner rather than later ☹️💐
@@suesmith3744 that’s exactly what I think will happen if we ever get socialized healthcare. It’s going to be a cycle we can’t come back from and eventually we will lose the good doctors entirely. Healthcare in the US in general is a total scam though.
Thank you kayla. You are the sweetest & im so sorry your love for mints messed up your denture😪 im obsessed with the green bag of mints( Lifesaver brand i belive) i know exactly why you love them. You & I are so alike! Love you kayla! :) im getting my permanent dentures june 16th. So so so excited!
With me, i dont think i have even enough bone to get implants but with that being said i wouldnt wanna go through that process. Drilling screws into your jaw. Yikes! Also im new to all this too. Teeth pulled 2-7-23 and getting my final dentures 6-16-23😁🥰
Yay! Your dentures are just a short couple weeks away. I bet you’re thrilled. Those green winter mint lifesavers are going to be the death of me I swear. It’s like a 11 year addiction. Started eating then when I was pregnant because it calmed my stomach and now they are eating the teeth down. They’re so minty and crunchy though, like it’s on purpose lol
HI Ms. Kayla I sure have missed you, you beautiful doll. I love your videos they make me smile. Please keep making videos your amazing
Hello! Awe, I’m honestly so touched by the love and kindness. Thank you for being you.
I am very happy you are here again, Beauty!
Omg hiiiiiiiii! I haven’t seen your incredibly kind comments in forever and that’s my fault. You are always such a sweet soul, thank you for your presence!
So good to see you. I look forward to you shorts.
Thank you so much, I still dont know how to make them but I’m learning!
I guess I've done the same, because I have that same chip out of my partial but I just had another tooth extracted so I am in need of a new partial anyway. I had just assumed it was normal wear and tear over the years. How long did you have your dentures before this happened?
I’m so sorry to hear that. I’ve had them almost 6 years. I got them pretty quickly after extractions since the dentist was closing his practice.
@@MyReason2smile Thank you for the informative videos. While I currently have a partial I know full dentures (at least on top) are in my future.
That’s awesome, I will look into that as well. Was it super expensive?
Wow how much for just the upper?
Also I wouldn't be hard on yourself by option for reg dentures.. I see videos on SM all the time of people who have implants with A TON OF ISSUES AND STILL HAS A TON OF SHRINKING
That def sucks… they preach to preserve the bone to get implants and then 20-50k later to still have issues is unacceptable in my humble opinion. My dentist said they would be 20k for 4 on top and bottom. I will likely take him up on that offer.
Welcome back! 💖🦋🎉🎊
Thank you love! Glad to be back, I have missed the community here. Been dabbling on Facebook but RUclips is better.
I live in Polk county have you tried Aspen Dental I heard they are really good
I checked the one in Winter Haven… I’m on the verge of doing that since my dentist never called me back. I know Aspen and Affordable heavily in Polk co
@MyReason2smile glad to hear I know I need I a lot of dental work but I am petrified to start

Hey miss Kayla I'm so glad that you're back on here. I have missed you so much. I just subscribed to your other channel since I saw it in someone else's comment. You have helped me so much from the beginning of my journey. You are truly a blessing. Why don't you start a go find me or something like that? I'm sure a lot of people would like to help you honey.I guess this is why they talk about you're not eating popcorn and things like that too. It's a shame but I guess it's just something we have to adapt to.
I'm around so please message me if I can help in any way. Thank you so much for all you do sending positivity and light your way.
Hey love!!! I still eat popcorn all the time, so take that advice with a grain of salt, and maybe butter lol. I finally broke down and made a gofundme but I didn’t want to. I have pride and it’s always in the way. I have enough saved on an HSA card to help me most of the way. I’m still pricing dentists so I can find one where I don’t have to come out of pocket. Since losing my job in Nov it’s been tougher to save anything at all.
@MyReason 2Smile Oh I know it's really tough to save now.
But your amazing and have Helped so many on your channel and you're fantastic mom. You've Got your Hands full and if. Anybody can help you with a go fund me that's what we need to do. Are you close to Kalinjax (Kristi)? She will have resources for you in FL. Glad you're back! 37 in still so young (I'm 61). It's not too late for implants honey so don't give up. My E-day is 5/1/23. Uppers only thank God. Scared but you said you'd so it again no doubt so must not be too scared to do this. I know I'm not alone in this process.
You def aren’t alone, and I truly mean it. I would do it again even with the sucky part (first couple weeks after e day) it was such a blessing to my life and restored what I had lost with interest.
Thank you love. I wish I had been able to get implants to keep the structure the same, you are truly blessed!
How do you relaease them so easily afte rusing polygrip to hold them ??
I used to put mine in early in the morning so by the time it was 14-16 hours later they came out pretty easy. Another way is to literally pry them out, or you can try and swish with hot water to loosen them a bit. It can be a nightmare
My immediate dentures were gagging me the first time they put them in, I had them trim them, was that a mistake.
I did the same thing. My dentist did tell me it could affect the suction of the denture itself but I had no problems until my weight started to fluctuate. Now they’re super lose but it’s been like 6 years and could be from a number of things. Personally if it helped you, I don’t think it’s a mistake.
Hi Kayla. I am so so grateful that you post these information videos. I’m on the denture journey and look to you for advice and inspiration 😊. You are so brave to be honest about the real life with dentures… that’s what makes you so special. You don’t pretend it’s all great. I also love how you show us everything…. Thankyou so so much❤
It’s absolutely my pleasure. I never saw any videos about the type of struggles I’m having and I want to make sure people are as informed as possible. Long and short term possibilities. Thank you so much for watching through the videos!
Great seeing you...
Wishing you a healthy weekend 😊
Hey!!! I haven’t seen you in so long, how is everything going? I think it was around the time Harvey hit last time we talked.
I need to learn about partials.
I started off with partials. If you have any questions I can help there too.
What are your thoughts on affordable dentures
I wouldn’t exclude them from my list. Each office is under the umbrella, but the dentist makes all the difference. I have heard both good and bad.
Got ceramic teeth dentures or composite very hard material. Snap on dentures are much better in comfort and eating .
I would love to, but your girl isn’t rich rich lol I have a tighttttttt budget rn.
Looking forward to the travel videos.
Thank you. Looking forward to sharing the journey!
Injectables are an option. Facial filler such as perlane or restylane or something.
I have seriously considered it, but I heard you have to keep up with it forever! I’m not above doing that at some point when I’m a little bit richer lol
Thank you!!!! The fact that you know I had such a hand in my original set tells me you actually watched. Thank you for putting up with me that long. I wish you an easy and prosperous journey to dentures and def heed that warning. Mine are getting worse and I need to go asap.
Thank you so much for your well wishes on my journey! I hope you'll keep us updated on getting your new, perfect dentures! I'm looking forward to it!@@MyReason2smile
If you want to eat hard foods like that, I'd advise upgrading to a fixed implant solution where you'll have porcelain teeth with metal under like crowns. It's costly though..
I’m too poor for that love. I wanted implants but never could afford them.
You are back!!!!!
I am!!!! I had to break my stuff apart but it gave me a reason lol
Hi Kayla! Oh My Gosh! I Love your video's. I have watched all of your videos over the past week. I'm having my extractions next week. You have helped me so much. You have such a Beautiful spirit, you inspire us all. You are a Blessing. Jesus will Bless you with a new pair 💜

I’m glad you were able to get some help from the videos, I feel like I babble so much so you’re an MVP for getting through them. I def come on with pure intentions to help as many people as possible and I pray for people too. I don’t have a go fund me, that never even crossed my mind. I am in the process of pricing a new set so I have no idea how much it could even be since prices vary wildly by dentists.

Acorn dental is where in getting my dentures in 2wks
That’s about 3 hours away with no traffic. Did they give you a good price?
are you crafty? can follow directions? willing to do some basic research? make your own dentures like the techs do at the lab, that's what I decided to do. it cost me about 30 dollars in materials for my upper and I suspect it will be about 30 dollars for the lower.

I just saw myself without teeth today, and I'm counting the days till I don't have to be here anymore because, I look like something from a Halloween horror film.
