    I'm in my 30's and about to go through with the entire thing in a week and a half and I'm somewhere between scared shitless and depressed. I'm haven't watched these yet but I'm already thankful that they exist. Thank you for taking the time to post them. Wish me luck 😬

      Good luck sweetheart! It’s really not as bad as we tend to make it out to be. I thought the worst even after watching every video that existed. Maybe I got lucky, but it’s still not that bad. You’re allowed to be scared. Try seeing it as a gift, and it helps with depression. It was the best decision I could have made. You’ll do great!!! Pls keep me updated.

      Is best to save up for implants or mini implants. Dentures can hurt as the gum starts to move out of place.

      I just got the firsts process done now my depression has hit a high level! I am not feeling the confidents. The foods I can’t eat anymore until I’ve gotten my permanent. Which they are telling me six month wait. God I feel like I shouldn’t have done it. But more the dental company is going to really dictate how you feel about the big change. The Dental Company I went with I feel something isn’t right. I stay in pain with the dentures! They hurt and I can even eat with them. It’s so painful to wear them. I don’t think I chose the best Company. It’s a bad experience.

    I'm 58 and spent thousands on caps in '02 because I have naturally bad teeth. Now the teeth are rotting underneath and caps/bridges breaking. I have an upcoming appt. for dentures. I want you to know this video helped me a lot. Thank you for posting it.

    Sorry, this is a long comment-I came across your video because I've been researching what I'm in for. I have a couple of autoimmune diseases called Guillian Barre Syndrome and Myasthenia Gravis. My teeth literally were crumbling before my eyes. I use to have very healthy teeth and over the last 2 years, they have been breaking to the gums. I was and still am mortified and scared of dentists. When my cardiologist put my pacemaker in, I was awake. Same thing with my port a cath. I'm on home health and have been for 7 years. So I have to get some of my medicines that go through my IV which goes into my port. I was lightly sedated, but still awake. I wasn't stressed over that. I spend a lot of time in hospitals, ICU for a number of infections on various machines to keep me alive. Because of all of my medical things, my teeth are basically gone.
    2 weeks ago, I went to a local dentist to see what I needed to go to get dentures. So, they did my treatment plan and Xrays. Thankfully a friend from church works there, so I didn't have a full-blown panic attack. I freak out when it comes to dentists. Even calling them I start sweating. I do have dental insurance, but only $2000 a year is covered. I wanted to get the snap-in dentures since I don't have the muscles to keep the teeth in. I only have 4 teeth and I knew I needed them removed and I was planning on getting dentures. But, I told my friend that I can't afford the snap-ins, I'll get what I can afford and then get things done as I can afford it. In order for me to get the snap-in dentures and I would have to be fully knocked out, they would be over $10,000 and there was no way I could do that. They would have to use my IV port in my chest and that would mean I would have to pay for an anesthesiologist. I could do the temporary immediate dentures and pull the teeth I have.
    Anyhow, I went to the dentist 2 weeks ago, got my treatment plan and told them I would call them back after I can figure out what I can and can't afford. My friend knew what I needed and wanted. I finish up my appt and go home. About 30 minutes later my friend calls me and tells me that the full cost of my teeth has been paid for and I need to come in the next day to get the impressions. I was shocked and shaken since I knew at that point that I couldn't chicken out. I asked my friend who paid for it since my insurance only covered $2000. She didn't tell me though. The next day I had an appt to do the impressions and now next week my roots and remaining teeth will be gone. The person paid for the surgery, anesthesiologists and for the snap-ins for the upper and lowers. I know I would have kept putting things off and I would have made excuses. Thank you for sharing your experience.

    I had a gastric bypass 14 years ago and in the last two years my teeth began to deteriorate, I already have bile acid malabsorption and chronic pancreatitis because of the op being too aggressive for my body to cope with! And now my teeth have next to no calcium and decayed literally within the last year! I’m booked in for my clearance in July and I’m grateful for your videos hun Thankyou so much xxxx

    Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I had an accident when I was 12. Then after 4 pregnancies I've been losing all my teeth. People think I'm a mean miserable b(bleep) because I don't smile but that's not it at all. Going to the dentist has never been a positive thing. Even had some staff laugh me and didn't know I could hear them. Watching this has given me the confidence to get my teeth done.

    Hi Kayla! You have a gorgeous smile and I’m glad you are happy! It’s so nice that you take the time to tell everyone what to expect. I was in an accident when I was a child, and it damaged the nerves in my mouth, and my parents were told eventually I would have to have my teeth removed. A very close friend who has worked all her life in dental told me that the nerves is what keeps the teeth alive, and she understood my situation. I am 66 years old, and I have had an upper denture for about 12 to 15 years, and it’s going to be replaced next month. I for some reason don’t remember it being a problem with the removal and immediate denture. My lower teeth will be removed Monday, and I’m nervous about it. It has to be done, and I hope it goes well and I really like my dentist. Thankfully, I have great dental insurance that pays up to $5,000. I truly don’t want the care involved with implants. Kayla, say a little prayer for me, and thank you so very much for sharing your experience!💕

    • @MyReason2smile
      @MyReason2smile  5 лет назад +2

      Hey!!!! Thank you so much for the kind words! I’m sorry you had an accident, I can pretty much relate, and it’s not fun. You’re very strong and beautiful! Totally makes sense to replace the upper once the lowers are done. You’ll have a matching set, and it will be more comfortable for you. 5000?!?! That’s incredible insurance. I was only given 1500 s year, and took a couple years of insurance and paying out of pocket to fix my accident. So count your blessings love, that’s awesome! Implants aren’t for everyone. It’s definitely high maintenance. It’s s good thing you have every right to choose your own path in life. Proud of you! I will pray for you sweetheart! You’ve got this 😍

    I went in on the 2nd for my immediate impressions. They had to use a child's large tray and it was still slightly large for my mouth.
    The 9th is my E-Day. You and one other have helped me prepare for it. I know what to expect and I just finished putting my "kit" together. I'm still pretty anxious, but not as severe. I'm ready to get this over with and move on.
    Tramadol is awful. I'm prescribed it for RA and fibromyalgia pain. I take half a pill, I get very nauseated and then a migraine. They gave me zofran to take with it for the nausea...but zofran also causes headaches. I have a migraine disorder, and you want me to take two meds that cause headache....uh no thanks. So I only take it when my pain is absolutely severe.

    • @MyReason2smile
      @MyReason2smile  5 лет назад +1

      It’s the addicts! I’ve had this convo with so many people. They alllllll tell me Tramadol doesn’t work. It does nothing for me, except make me sleep. It’s ridiculous. A handful of people ruined the rest of America’s life with pain. Now we all go through pain because we can’t be given anything better for the management. It angers me. I’m so sorry your doctors are as ignorant as mine. I hope you feel better soon. You can make it through this process. Promise!

    I enjoyed your entire video…it’s the first time watching you…..had extractions done May 15 2023……..I’m in week 4 with Immediates, lost 11lbs so far….can’t chew……had four adjustments mostly for the bottoms then my dentist started charging $50….haven’t gone back for any more……. developed 2 bone spurs (I pulled one sliver out with tweezers)….the other one on top the pain has subsided and I can wear the tops w/no problem but they are getting loose……the bottoms are terrible….flopping all over when I try and eat with both in……….he wants $380 for a soft Reline!!!!!!!!! I know I have to start trying the adhesive or Sea Bond Wafers to see if that helps……..he wants to scan me for my permanents next month July 31……….No way!!!!!! I’m thinking about finding another Dentist…..you are sooooo lucky to have found that wonderful dentist and yours look great….I assume you can chew and eat anything you want??????? Will watch your other videos….tks

      Hey! Your journey seems to be on par with everything I’ve heard or experienced over the past few years. A lot of people do the same thing with tweezers and bone spurs. 380 for a soft reline seems criminal to me. It would be 100% worth it to make a few calls to various dentists and get prices on their soft reline, and possibly explain what’s going on. You have temps and want to wait longer on perms to have the best fit. Good dentists do exist, they’re just harder to find. Use google to your absolute advantage and see what other people are saying about a potential new dentist, their bedside manner, and prices. People put everything online now so it shouldn’t be too too hard. I hope you find someone who is a better fit for you. You’re paying them and you should be happy. I do want to say a soft reline really changes the game, but adhesive does work when it’s needed. I struggled pretty hard at first with the bottoms so keep in mind this is pretty normal par the course.

    Thank you for mentioning that post extraction smell lol, omg. Day 2 or 3 for me, there was this absolutely rancid smell, it made me gag. Nowhere on the internet does it really talk about all the nasty goo and slime and the smell that comes from the extraction sites, except for a few places that said it was probably infected which made me panic, but it wasn't infected at all, I was on antibiotics and my dentist said it just happens and will pass. And it did pass. Nobody EVER mentions how gross it is those first few days lol. I should probably bring it up in one of my own videos later on.

    Horrible genetics and a genetic disease have ruined my teeth, I'm only 33. I'm going in for my impressions on Monday, with extractions soon to follow, and all of them must go - I'm getting the removable implants done, which is pricey, but necessary. I'll still need immediate dentures made, for about six months until the posts are healed.
    Honestly, I'm terrified. I have nightmares about losing all my teeth, and now it's really going to happen. Thankfully they're going to put me to sleep for the actual extraction. On the other hand, I won't occasionally be in so much pain that I can't function. I hope those valium work for me the way they did for you - my anxiety is going crazy just thinking about it.

    I’m about to go through all this myself. In less then a week they will be pulling 25 teeth >< I tried to get them pulled while sedated but it was like another $5k on top of the $11k I’m already spending. I have severe anxiety and I’m dreading it! They are giving me halcion to take. I don’t have dental insurance, and I ordered the top of the line dentures that’s why it’s so much. An this is my own fault, I didn’t take care of my teeth when I was younger, avoided the dentist like the plague. I’m in my late 30’s. I’m scared but also excited. I’ve had a gap in my front top teeth, I got made fun of a lot as a kid growing up cuz of it. So I hardly ever smiled. Just hope they look as good as you do with yours. @MyReason 2Smile So it's been a few days now ( Oct 28th was the extractions/intermediates ) and idk if it's just me, or this is the way it is. But, my top dentures, the roof of my mouth part is so thick, it's like if i had teeth and i put in a mouth guard and was trying to talk. Also it gives me that "monkey mouth" thing and that drives me nuts too. I already got my 1st reline, and it really didn't help with anything. My gums are still sore, i can't even wear my bottoms it hurts so bad. I pulled off the reline hoping it would get rid of the bulge . But that didn't do anything. When i have them in, i can't stop salivating. The reline tastes so bad, it makes my saliva taste like it, so i don't want to swallow it. I have to spit all the time. Im just very frustrated with them right now. I know that these are my intermediates, but i feel like this is worse then it should be. I'm paying about $12k for all this through Aspen Dental. I just don't know what to do at this point.

    • @Reddum990
      @Reddum990 4 года назад +1

      @@sexysagitarius1965 it's starting to get better. After a few visits, and some grinding on the dentures myself, they don't feel as bulky in my mouth. I'm able to talk more normal. Not to scare you or anything, cuz not everyone has this issue I guess. But after the extractions, I guess depending on how bad the tooth was there can be little shards of teeth or bone that start to work their way out and poke through the gum. Trying to wear my dentures with that made it pretty much impossible to eat anything solid. I had to go back and they did a small surgery where they cut my gums, pulled them back, and grinded the bone down with a Dremel like tool. They did that to the top and bottom on my left side. It is more smooth now, but even after it healed it's still a bit rough to chew anything that isn'y like noodles or something. My right side was ok before, and it started happening on that side now. I had made and appointment to have the surgery thing done again on that side, but I ended up canceling it. My anxiety is really bad. And it's like waaaaaaaaaaaaay to expensive to be put under. So right now, im just dealing with it. Some times I can eat other foods, but after awhile the gum starts to get sore and my bottom denture comes loose kinda easy, even with adhesive. When that happens, it's impossible to eat. It's been a rough experience so far. But, I feel that it's better then the pain I use to feel with my bad teeth. Let me know how things go for you when you get them.

      Hey dear, are they temps or perms? I’m assuming temps since I felt the same way. You will get somewhat used to them and then it will be time for perms. Perms will feel much much smaller compared to the temps. It’s totally normal since you have a bunch of plastic in your mouth surround your gums where your teeth took way less space.

      It’s a total 180° I had to get used to the permanent ones because they were a lot smaller so my mouth felt different and the teeth are a lot sharper so I found myself biting the inside of my cheek a lot and the inside of my bottom lip where they met together for the first few weeks but now there’s no issues. It’s a life changing process. U think what’s the big deal? I’ve had teeth my whole life it’ll be the same but everything’s different from speaking to eating or just trying to keep them in your mouth some days but once u get your permanent set you’ll feel a lot different and more natural. If u have a temp set get some densurefit. Or reline-it was my favorite. It’s at Walmart and it’s only $5 with as much as your mouth changes it’s more convenient and RUclips will teach you how to apply it.

I did feel pain in my gums and face but I took pain meds so I was mostly just uncomfortable. I couldn't open my mouth far at all. My lips were swollen. After a week the swelling went down, pain subsided. After about 2 and a half weeks or so I was able to open my mouth all the way again. Then in may I got my top teeth extracted. I had swelling then too but it wasn't as bad. There was pain but not too bad. Mostly uncomfortable. So now I have an apt tomorrow for my impressions!

I had one other come out already. My old regular doctor gave me tramdol when I was in my 20's for my arthritis. That 💩 made me feel like a zombie. My dentist isn't sure if I'll be able to wear dentures. Since my insurance covered 💯 extractions and will cover 💯 dentures, he said we can try dentures. We will do that after I heal from the full mouth extraction s. I go in at just under two months for the start of the denture process.

      I made a whole video on getting ready. Even showed all the products I use. I am a makeup hoarder. It’s bad! I had a whole room dedicated to it. I didn’t like the video and deleted it. 45 mins, was too long for most of my audience. Maybe I’ll make one again. I actually use an elf gel eyeliner. It doesn’t crack, and stays in my water line pretty decently. I have about 10 I use, but I’ve been favoring that one.

    I went through the extraction of all my teeth on Dec 4th 2019. I was given a script for Amoxicillin and Norco. The worst day was the day of extraction, by the next day the bleeding and oozing stopped. I never really felt any pain afterwards due to the fact that i stayed on top of the Norco and continued til they ran out. By the time the Norcos were gone there was no pain at all. Just the swelling of my gums that just made my mouth feel uncomfortable or not normal. Yesterday I returned to my dentist to get an impression done of my gums. And yes those trays are too big lol. Impression of the top sucked as when she tried to remove it, it wouldn't move due to the seal that had occurred, thought my jaw was going to drop out with her pulling. Lower impression wasn't so bad except for the jaw pain since she had to keep pressure on it for 2 minutes, but it released much easier than the upper. Mind you I did not get a "healing set" of dentures or "immediate" dentures as my insurance does not cover that at all. So at this time i have no teeth and have had nothing to assist in eating since i had them removed. In the past week i have eaten pizza and sandwiches (no toast as it hurts the gums, yep i tried toast). But i feel that eating some "normal" food helps toughen the gums, plus the salt water rinses help as well. I return Jan 14th to the dentist to make decisions on or about my dentures, such as color? Or shade? Either way I am looking forward to getting the dentures. And my tooth extraction had to happen as I am diabetic and went undiagnosed for years, and so my teeth were destroyed from within, nothing toothpaste can do about that. Enjoyed your video and keep up the good work!!

    Love your videos, I do have a correction though. With implants, they're not placed at the time of extraction. Bone grafts are placed and those need to heal and acclimate with the existing bone before being removed and the actual implant placed. The process takes several months.

    Please please be very cautious with her testimony. Don't let her scare you off. How bad you hurt depends on your pain tolerance. When you go to do your mold ask then to spray you with numbing spray and you will be just fine for the mold. The day of extractions will be your worse day and honestly you will be numb most of that day which is why your drolling blood. Most dentists will prescribe an antibiotic, and anti inflammatory or and pain medication. So i got Amoxicillin, Motrin 800 and Norco. The dentist pulled my teeth and put my dentures the same day so i never went without dentures.

      Aunt Josie same for me. I was eating hard foods as soon as I got them. I’m not trying to scare anyone. There’s people who will handle this with minimal pain, and there’s people who will be down and out for a while. It depends on the person. I want my people to know both sides. It doesn’t change the outcome, just being informative.
