- Hey beauties! This is part 2 of my story. Going from partial dentures, to immediate/temporary dentures, to my final permanent set of dentures. Thanks for watching loves! Have an incredible week!
You are such a positive person! I am going to get a full extraction on Wednesday. I'm not going to say I'm not nervous, but I'm also excited for the end result! I haven't smiled in years and it has totally affected my confidence!! Thank you for your attitude and you are just fun to watch!!
you are very pretty and I must say you have a lot of confidence to take your dentures out on camera in front of people. There is no way I can do that and I had mine for 7 years.

Thank you Kayla Having teeth all of my life then loosing them is heart breaking. I went thru the pain of tooth removal then the fear if I would ever get used to my dentures. Next week I will be getting my dentures. Watching your video helps ease the worries.. Wish me luck lol

whew! Can't thank you enough for this video. I had my surgery today and have been so distressed about how uncomfortable and bulky these immediates feel and look. I feel like I have a mouth full of legos. I had a partial for 5 years that, just as you said, became part of my anatomy, no problems, kinda like a thin retainer or something. Was hoping for a smooth transition, but day one has been brutal. Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to my perm denture. Thank you so much for being so vulnerable and honest. I am very relieved to hear it will get better
I just got my 2 front teeth pulled this morning and I have a partial. It took me awhile to quit gagging. I’m very anxious and depressed. I know I need to get used to it, but I’m not sure how I’m going to eat. Was it hard to get used to your original partial? It’s comforting to find other people going through teeth problems.
I've got a top partial. Same thing happened recently....all my back teeth I had left broke to the gumline...i was in severe pain earlier this week. I went to dentist this past week and had then removed. Now I have my partial I am still wearing using fixodent. I am in need desperately to get a full top plate. It's embarrassing for me to have to go through this. I don't let anyone know or see me without my partial in. I'm extremely self conscious and I have really bad anxiety and depression.
I hate being young having to go through all this. I'm glad you posted this video. You have helped give me alittle courage to go get a full top plate. Thank-you for posting this video. 💗
Thank you so much for the encouragement. I've been in a horrible temp top for 2 yrs.and only 7 natural left on bottom and no other support (just missing teeth).
My confidence has plunged.
But.. next wedns I get my beautiful custom tops. Extracting all u left on bottom and getting my 1st temp bottom plate.
I admit...I'm freaking the hell out.
But I just keep watching your videos and feeling better and I'm ready. I will continue to follow you thru this journey.

I am going in 2 days to have 23 teeth removed and you have made me feel better! I am 50yrs.old and I had gastric bypass in 1996. And we all throw up it's a fact of life. I have been dealing with crumbling teeth the last 10 yrs. And I have finally decided to be done with it. Gl to you. I think you are amazing!

Wow. Thank you. I had 17 extractions on 4/30. I've been a nervous wreck. I hate these monster temps. 6 months and I get my permanent. I got the ones like you but with a clear pallet and I was scared they would look and feel like these. Thank you for your reassurance. I feel so much better now. And you my friend are georgeous! I’ve had my top dentures in for 3 days now and they feel great..I’ve watched lots of videos since getting them and seen people having quite a lot of problems from loose fitting to Pain etc...I must be lucky so far..I’ve had no problems and the fit is perfect.

I too will need full dentures some day. I have periodontal disease and have too much bone loss. I just got my 2 front teeth pulled and got my partial today. I didn’t think I would quit gagging. I’m afraid I will never eat again, even though I need to lose weight. Lol! These videos help me to know there are other people just like me.

2 weeks in and struggling to eat and want real food again. We are all scared and uncertain how this works out. You taking the time to share helps a lot but it still is hard. And knowing the struggles last is hard....BUT you are giving me more reasons to accept it and just let time pass
I have had tops since 2006 but I just had all my bottoms extracted a week ago. I can not get used to my bottom immediate denture! 😤 it's so bulky! Thank you so much for your video. It gives me so much hope that I will eventually get nicer looker smile with the permanents. ❤️
It really will get better. When I first put them in, it felt like I was suiting up to play hockey, or football. It was crazy how big and bulky it really is. The more you wear them, the more they become you. Keep the hope love!

Thank you so much. As for the reline, it’s pretty easy. Just stay in constant communication on how you feel during the process. You want it to fit like a glove. That’s the whole goal. They will have to work with it a couple times to get it right. And by couple I mean, it’s a never ending process lol. Good luck baby girl!

Hi, do they slip out when you sneeze or cough? Did your dentist put bones after extract so that your dentures can be steady?
He pulled all my teeth, but didn’t mess with any bone. If they aren’t glued in, or I bite down while sneezing, yes they can fly out lol. It’s almost happened many times. Good stuff!!

I'm about to begin my journey. I am only missing 2 back teeth but my gums are horrible. After my.last visit at dentist I was told I needed $5,000 worth of work and I refuse to put more money into a mpitu that will only fail. That's a guarantee. How do you choose the shape of teeth?

I used to watch your videos which you updated.. I have my top n bottom full dentures.. but not fixed with out adhesive dental cream....Does implant is better option than removable full denture??I know it is costly and no one can afford it..
I do have removable dentures, yes. I wish I could afford implants as well. Implants are way better option for bone, jaw, and strength of the mouth.

How can you manage without adhesive? Could be I just have a crap lower.
With my temps I didn’t have many issues. They took incredibly good care of me. My soft relines replaces adhesive. It was amazing. Now with these perms, I have to use it. They just aren’t as secure as I imagined before getting them.
Thank you for making these videos. I'm 28 and have had horrible teeth my whole life. I've had 9 teeth pulled, my parents couldn't afford to get partials or anything so I just didn't have teeth. Now as an adult my teeth are so horrible, I take care of them better than most people do. I'm really considering getting dentures now. I have one tooth broken off at the gum line and I can tell several more are on their way. At this point I really don't think it's even worth saving them, It would be cheaper to just get dentures considering how much it will cost to have them all fixed. One dentist I saw told me it would be over $15,000 to fix them. I don't have that kind of money, I'm on disability for permanent spinal cord damage and can't work. So I'm in the process of finding out what I need to do, finding a dentist that will take my insurance. If I can get dentures, I know for a fact I will feel so much better. Mentally and physically.

You are so amazingly strong and I see you kept your high spirits up! As for me , At 30 and 4 kids later. My top posterior teeth just crumbled lil by lil. I feel at this point it is genetic. My great grandfather had these
issues and have partials long before I was born. I have been sad about my flaw and havent come to terms with accepting this is my reality. I felt the same way you did in your first video. I must say, Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me with saying its okay. Life happens. I thought I was alone. I felt like I was being judged. My dentist would say your so young so pretty. why did this happen. I told her I take care of my teeth. Rinse, brush, Rinse Morning and night. I was sooo embarrassed. Yes money plays a huge role but now I can feel confident in saving for my partials!

What's weight loss surgery got to do with falling?
So my biggest fear is getting bottoms. I look at my gums now. WITH TEETH and I imagine how much lower they will be once teeth are pulled and I can’t imagine anything sitting/staying. Would you mind showing your bottom gums? I’m curious and just man..... wonder if they would add bone stuff just to have something there for my eventual dentures to grasp onto. @@MyReason2smile can you tell us who HE is-if ONE person at affordable dentures is good-i'd go to that 'person'...i know affordable has a bad reputation but all it takes is ONE person who knows what they're doing to make a smile like yours-i'm looking too and it's a nightmare that has almost killed me-i'm coming up on 30 yrs. clean & sober and this is the ONE thing i want and can't find-a new smile-i have an old ugly upper now and lower partial that need replacing-live in so. cal. My gums and teeth looked ok, and I do have wobbly teeth here and there and I wasnt that concerned...I thought ok the dentist will fix this..., but the xrays showed the horror underneath.

Matthew Latham at first, it’s something you need to get used to. Now it’s just normal life. I find myself even like running my tongue across it because it’s so smooth. I like the feeling now.
I guess you must be used to the feeling of them now as you had a while now.
Definitely. It will be 2 years in June. I don’t regret it for a moment.
I had my extractions (9) on Wed. Took almost 4 hrs. Ran into a couple of problems with a 2 teeth and took 2 breaks since my apt went long. Anywho...I got my top denture and I pretty much hate it. I told the tech that the teeth are off center. She said Oh that'll be ok after everything starts to heal up. Ummm, No the front teeth don't line up correctly down the midline of the denture. The teeth are really small and while I had said I don't want big teeth these are too small and they're all like perfectly lined up in a row. The molars are also small and rather recessed into the gum area. I want teeth that look like the ones you have now. :) They are def smaller than what my natural teeth were! The front part comes up too far under my nose. There's a rough part toward the front of the denture like someone scraped it with sandpaper and annoys my tongue. The back edge keeps scratching the center of my tongue. I hate how I speak now. My last name has a K in in and it's hard to say. My daughter's name is Kayla and is also hard to say. Ugh! I'm really annoyed and frustrated. What do you think will happen if I go back to my dentist and ask for a new denture? At this point, I really regret doing this. :(
Ok take deeeeeeeeeep breaths! Don’t regret it just yet, as it takes time for everything to come together! Now if the teeth are super small, and don’t fit your mouth.. that’s a legit issue. The teeth should have been measured from canine to canine, and made to fit the size of your mouth. The midline being off from jump is another problem. My midline was only off one single time and it was after they shifted hard, but one time. When I first got mine, the acrylic went almost into my eye balls lol! It was seriously all the way up into my nose, it’s an easy fix. Just tell them it’s pushing into your nose and hurts. They will shave it down, and it will still give you lip support. The rough part is another easy fix, just more sanding it down to fit. My perms were actually cutting my tongue until my technician fixed it, then polished it to be totally smooth. Just try to remember at the very beginning, it’s not going to be perfect! It will take pretty much the whole time you’re wearing them to become the perfect fit! Then you’ll get perms and start the process all over again! If the midline never gets corrected through the adjustments, you have every right to ask for a new one. That’s one thing that needs to be perfect, or it’s their cost. Also try to remember they are just temps. It’s like driving through a construction zone! It’s rough, and bumpy, but eventually it’s brand new, works perfect, and looks good when it’s fixed!
Thank you for your reply. It really helps... :) I was told that these ARE my perms. If so, we're gonna have to straighten this situation out asap. The part that goes up into my nose is so close to the top of the gum area that I am having an extremely hard time getting my nails (which I keep short as they are thin and flimsy) over the top of the denture to break the suction. I'm literally digging what nails I have into the acrylic to pull them down! Ugh! My mom and I were both born without laterals and my right canine (a root canal and build up) broke off earlier this year. The other canine has always been "off" since I had gap issues all my life. So that being said I'm not sure what they measured. lol Still...looking at the denture itself you can tell the front teeth are off center. I'd NEVER send that out to a patient!!! I'm not sure if my dentist made it or if the prosthesis company did. Today was a sad, pity party kind of day for me. I know it'll take time and I try to remember that but this still sucks. On top of doing the extractions my dentist found an infection and said that the bone was spongey...whatever that means. :/ God bless! ~~~Deanna

Kayla MyReason2Smile I’m getting a partial made as we speak; never had a smile as a kid or young man; so I’m hoping that partial will help me smile again; if it weren’t for 20+ teeth that are still in fairly good shape; I would have gone for dentures (about a 4th of the cost of a partial.) Anyone have experience with partials?

I had all teeth out yesterday...still cant put dentures in mouth.....i start gagging as soon at i out the one in place.....I know these are the temp ones for 6 months till i get the implant model ones.....if it like this for 6 months i m going to drop 30 pounds.

I’ve been there. For years I had partials I hated. Full Dentures we’re a million times easier to deal with. Same as you with the partials, the other teeth just kept breaking off. Inevitably, I ended up with a full set, and don’t regret it.

This is similar to what I am going through too because I am losing my back molars and one front tooth is moving so I didn't want to have them pulled and placed a partial because a partial will hook up to the front teeth and start to break down the front teeth. My dentist wants to place an implant (I already have 5) but single crowns at @2,100 a pop start to add up. So I want the dentist to pull one back channeled molar and then see what happens and when more problems arise I will just have him pull the remaining teeth place 4 implants and insert implant dentures. BTW I think you look gorgeous and you are right things aren't always perfect, we just have to see things as perfect as we can. I am also reading where people are foregoing immediate dentures. I am going to because I don't want to waste money on dentures that won't fit and will just cause pain.
Implants are very expensive, so it’s awesome that you can choose to take that route! You’re very blessed! You’re also correct on the partial breaking down the other teeth, it happens like that. Thank you so much for the kind words. It can be hard to remember when you’re looking at yourself, and you’re not what you used to be.
@@MyReason2smile Yes, I look at photos when I was young and had all my natural teeth; although , my uppers were a little off, they were all my teeth. With this last round of issues going on I have probably changed my mind a dozen times. Some of the decisions were based on let's fix what could happen, get dentures and be done with it but my lower front teeth are straight and stable and healthy enough so yes I didn't want to jeopardize them. I started my implants when I was working so I had insurance that covered some but now I am retired and "hooked" on implants because the teeth feel so natural and easy to care for, then when my root canals started failing I continued with the implants. I have 3 more root canals that will cost about $6,000 each to replace with single implants, then I am done with molars. I have one root canal in the very back that has to go and might be causing the pain to the other root canals. So I decided to let the dentist just pull that tooth and hope the other root canals settle. If not, it is actually cheaper to get 2 more single implants than a full set of implants dentures. It is wise to step back and look at all your options, get opinions, talk to people who have already had the work done, figure out how you can afford to have what is in your heart, and make your own informed decisions because dentists often do what is profitable for them.
