Mine arrived today and I got to play with it outdoors using Core outdoor ball. The spin is amazing. For power and control I would rate this 7 for power and 9 for control. Love this paddle so far. Will see how face last as it seems to grab the ball pretty good.
I bought this paddle four months ago and just love it . The control and spin are really impressive. I haven't noticed any drop off on the spin so far and it has had a fair amount of use. To me it compares well to my DBD. The Ronbus has more control while the DVD generates more power. Spin is about the same in both.
Hey Farmer, just ordered the R1.16, your code got me $20 off the price. I have been playing pickleball for about 5 months now. Have been using a cheaper carbon fiber paddle. Which has served me well in my introduction to Pickleball. Looking forward to getting the new paddle. will check back in a couple of weeks to update how things are going. Thanks for your reviews.😎
It depends on the person. My friend Brad prefers the R1 over everything due to how soft it is. Out of the 2 I prefer the prism due to its extra power it has. It mostly depends on what the player is wanting. Do you want effortless drops and dinks with limited power? Go with the R1. Do you want harder drives and serves but you have to focus more on dinks and drops? Then I'd go with the prism. It's all about trade offs. The sweet spot on the prism is a little bigger though due to the foam edges it has
@@FarmerLankyPickleball Great response, thanks! I'm relatively new to pickleball and started out with the paddle suggested by the class instructor, a TMPR Oculus XT. It was too poppy for me and I found myself hitting long a lot, so I purchased the Ronbus R1.16. So far I love it, but I wondered how the Vatic Prism Flash compared. Based on your response, I think I'm good with the Ronbus. 🙂
Ya that's a fiberglass paddle and it's going to be extremely poppy. I would definitely stay with the R1. It has to feel light-years better than the tmpr fiberglass did. I'd mostly focus on mechanics and use that paddle tbh.
I own this paddle and the Vatic V7. I like this one more. Why? Control. This paddle makes playing pickleball easy. Everything seems to go where you want it. The Vatic has too much power for me. While the power is great at times, overall I make more mistakes and play with less confidence. With the Ronbus, everything seems easy.
The specs for the R1.16 are almost identical to the R3.16 (length, width, handle length, wt) . The only difference appears to be the shape (R1 is rounded at the top). Does it play differently, and if so, why?
Tbh I'm not entirely sure why they play different. My brother did not like the R1. He said it was soft and he couldn't generate enough power. I felt the R3 had alot more power. Maybe the throat of the paddle affects the sweet spot? The throat of the R1 and R3 are different. That's the only reason I can think of.
Keep checking the channel for the other 2 reviews in the coming days. My opinion for each of them is way different fyi

I am on my second one. Great paddle for a slow dinking control game. Problem is game is changing to banging.
Given the choice, would you prefer this paddle or the Vatic Pro Prism Flash?

do you think the spartus 16 will spin more than this paddle?
After playing with them both for a while I'd say that the Ronbus has more spin but the spartus 16 is a softer feeling paddlem in my opinion
U rock! keep doing what you do love your channel
Curious to what you think of Gruvn raw16E compared to this one?
How would you compare the SLK Halo to the R1.16? Thanks.
I played with the Halo once but not enough to make a comparison tbh. I'm sorry I can't help with that comparison!!
I played with the Halo and R1.16. The R1.16 feels softer and had better spin.
So the R1 is soft like the Model E?
I bought the electrum E for my son a while back. I've used both alot and can't tell the difference when I switch between the two.
😊
