Zeiss 12mm Touit: The Sharpest and LOUDEST APSC lens!

- My 12mm Zeiss Touit experience was quite a journey!
While I was considering the 12mm Rokinon for my Sony ZV-E10, I found this lens on Craigslist for a crazy low price and it was in mint condition.
It's not a new lens and by todays standards, there are several options that have significant upgrades, but I couldn't pass up this deal.
Initially this lens was an autofocus mess...
The firmware update made a HUGE difference! It locks in focus but still doesn't focus silently.
Optically, it's a gem and since much of my photography is stills, this is a perfect lens for me.

Hey! Thanks for watching! I'm happy to hear that the video was helpful and I hope your lens brings you much joy! Look in to the free firmware update if you care. I found that Zeiss did a great job cleaning and updating toe motors to help with the sluggish AF.
I really like mine and continue to use it quite a bit!

I found this for 350 on eBay in mint condition. And this is a fabulous lens!
So Blessed, just got it for $189 and down in Chile shooting on a NEX-7 of Coastal Scenes, Village + Mountain Landscapes, and loving every minute. Already used almost exclusively - the Touit Planar 32/1.8, and always dreamed of owning a Wide Angle to stop having to stitch, plus wanting that WA distortion to isolate subjects!!! Great Review.

Cool video Mike - I gotta say I was a bit worried about it before the firmware update. But damn it seemed pretty good after the update! I'm looking forward to see you put this lens through it's paces! Also - there was some music in the background at one part of the video - I really liked the way that sounded what was that???
When was the firmware available
How much was this lens? I've looked at this lens for my X-S10 but, the price was very expensive and I couldn't find any good reviews about it. I am looking forward to either getting the 12mm f2 Af samyang or 13 f1.4 viltrox lens. Under 500 for such wide and fast lenses I think would be great.
