The AF looks sooooo nervous and is always on edge. It lost you a bunch of times, but quickly recovered. You were also slightly out of focus many times even though I’m sure the box was on your eye. If vlogging is your thing, there are better options out there for much less $$$.
Oh Kasey man, open your heart to the Viltrox 13mm f1.4 and it will love you back. sure the original firmware with the weird pulsing / hunting was more annoying than a ginger step child but after a bit of whipping and a firmware updates it falls into line and it's all gravy now. Go on, taste the 13mm f1.4 goodness again - you know you want it back in your life - just let it in
Truly resplendent my dear, oh, what a delight it is to see your cinematic adventures captured on the cheeky little Zeiss - though mature in comparison to many of its younger, more trendy competitors, it ages gracefully like a fine wine! Howeveraaahhh… the question yet to be answered: Zeiss 12mm for third dimension shattering pop or Sigma 16 f1.4 for silky smoozz Toneh-ature??? …THESE INSUFFERABLE SWINE NEED ANSWERS DAMN IT!!! Anyhoo, keep up the fabulous work darling - your insight is sincerely appreciated.
Hey Kasey. As always thanks for the content. Watching every single video of yours is a must. Is there any specific video cataloging software you are using. I must be missing something - I would expect there to be something like Lightroom but for videos. I am trying to use Catalyst Browse but it seems to be buggy on mac. Also it would be awesome to be able to create collections - auto import to folders named by date. Have you found anything like this?
Please try the GH6. The autofocus should be a bit better than g9, right? Like face detect and animal detect such. And the video quality should destroy Olympus oversharpened BS. It hurts when you compare Olympus to Sony video quality, and blames the sensor size. I think you should try the GH6 for vlogging and wildlife. Should look really good with the 300mm Oly you have in your new fancy drawer! And yeah, maybe you've already asked the current best camera store in the world that we should all go to tonight and in that case Iä'm sorry for ranting or whatever this is.
Had the 16mm f1.4. Boi, I tell ya. That thing had miniature steam engines in it for a focus mechanism. Hissing and hunting like is was some kind of steam punk serpent ..unhappy that it was not fed caramel coated crickets in the fuji factory.
You gotta admit the image quality coming out of that camera is the best you’ve ever had on your show. It puts many other more expensive cameras to shame. I don’t mind the stabilization with wide and normal lenses, it is a huge step up from the X-T4 but it does need a lot of improvement with longer lenses. Even the 50-140 at 140 is almost unusable on video. I don’t know if I should blame the lens stabilization or the IBIS, but when I use my cine lenses (my longest cine lens is a 75mm) it behaves really good, much better than the X-T4 which has unusable IBIS for video. I don’t see any wobbles with my Viltrox 13mm and didn’t detect any on your clip with that 12mm. I’d say the X-H2S has been a huge boon for me as a cinematographer and the IBIS gives me the confidence to make more and better camera movements otherwise I couldn’t manage. I might not love it yet, but this camera will make me a better photographer and a better cinematographer for sure.
Awesome pigeons-in-flight shot! Never mind the squirrels. I'm sure you're right about the Zeiss, but how many kidneys can I afford to sell? You can probably buy a full M43 vlogging kit for the cost of the Zeiss alone......
Great video as always! Don’t forget to load your pockets up with some nuts next time, as I can assure you’ll get the shots you want, and the squirrels will go nuts! Off subject, I noticed no one has done an in-depth review of the the iPhone Mag Cam. Being as you have a wide variety of E-Mount lenses, I’m curious as to what kind of video from one’s mothers basement to wildlife it might produce. If you could do a video on that, that would be fantastic! And if you think it’s crap you could always just send it my way😉🙏
I went from the Fuji XF 14mm to the 10-24mm and from that to the Zeiss 12mm (which is made by Fuji, BTW) and sold that to re-purchase the XF14mm. Go figure.

Hey I’m just starting the video so not sure if you updated yet but FW 1.03 fixed high FPS AF!!! Just tested it. Haven’t tried lower frame rates to see if it’s also improved but it very well might have. Download it and try it asap!!!
Gosh, I'm in love with the colors, they are just fantastic. AF is pretty good for me as well, no complaints. BUT WHY!? FUJI, WHY is the stab not perfect on this camera? I just want an ideal vlogging fuji camera, damn. Hate you guys!
@@cameraconspiracies I have not noticed a huge usability difference. Moving the camera slightly farther out can easily close any difference but that also comes down to personal taste and comfort. But I feel being faster to focus, quieter, sharper the corners, lighter, and more compact is worth the adjustment. You also don’t loose that close focus like on some other options.
Aha! I figured out what happened to most of the squirrels! At 5:00 you can see the tribe of hungry squirrel-eaters invading the park in the background behind you!!!!

This lens or the camera, doesn't look great for vlogging. I guess this generation of cameras hasn't separated itself from the last in terms of vlogging. Action cams- Insta360 and GoPro- are doing amazing things. The colours, stabilization, and overall look of action cams and smartphones are innovating light years ahead of these $3000 plus (yeah just for the body) underwhelming offerings that just have incremental evolution (part of their game to keep us "upgrading" over and over). I'm not buying a new camera until it blows me away in video and slow motion specs, dynamic range, and stabilization. That's why sales are way down in the industry.
You CAN beat a Zeiss because they've made some honkers at times, some Voigtlanders crush them but for those weirdos who want absolute sharpness it's the Otus/Batis and the Sigma Art Also Tokina was good back in the day, they were better than Sigma and they still have one of the best lenses on DSLR with the 100mm f2.8.
