I’ve had this thing for 8 years and it’s a fucking beast. I had a Collings along with this, ran into a financial situation (wanted to buy a super expensive synth) and without a second thought got rid of the Collings. 8 years later this thing has aged better than any vintage Martin I’ve ever had. It’s fucking ridiculous and it’s neck is amazing. I don’t think I’ll ever play a better acoustic that isn’t 10k+
For pity's sake, it's an amazing guitar. Martin is making some of the finest guitars they've ever made and this is one of them. What no maker can do is make a new guitar that is simultaneously 75 years old. We just got one in our shop, Guitar Tex, a few days ago and everyone who's played has been knocked out.
acoustic guitars of yesteryear had a strap button on bottom and you'd tie the strap to the headstock, different kinda of strap of course, but it honestly holds the guitar better, don't have to worry about neck sliding towards the floor
Played this guitar today at my local Samash, and I was impressed but not too impressed. It sounds pretty good but in my opinion, I'd go for a 000-18 instead. The neck on this was really nice tho. V Necks are usually really uncomfortable but this thing was just great. And the low ends were nice and the so were the highs but this exceeds in the Mids. Nice guitar but priced at 2,299 (same as the 000-18) I wouldn't really consider it.
Hi all, I'm total newbie with the guitar here and love the first song he demos with! iI'm currently working on learning it. I have all the chords worked, but am trying to figure out his strumming pattern. It seems to be a type of percussion thumb hitting down strum & up-strum with his fingers? Could anyone explain or diagram this? I really appreciate it folks. Thanks much in advance! (PS. drooling for this guitar but don't deserve it yet..)
It's nice , but not 8 X the price of an Epiphone EL-00.... with Fishman pickup. Martin has started to believe their guitars are as great as some in the past were. But they are factory guitars and a lot are mediocre. Most all are overpriced and few actually are cosmetically good. I'l look instead at Guild GAD series from China. Bone nut and saddle and good tuners and play great and sound at least as good as Martin for about 1/2 the price or 1/3.

Thanks for doing a demo with strumming. Most people doing reviews seem to think you can only strum on a dread.
My wife just got me one as a wedding present, i pick it up on friday, can not wait!!!!
is it awesome
7 years later, you still have it? I mean the guitar lol

I think I'd give up a couple of my toes to have this guitar. My GOD, what a beautiful sound.

"Oh Hey" a film crew just surprised me doodling, much like my mum when I was 13.
Looks great.
Great video of this beautiful new Martin! Nice playing too.
Jeff would definitely get this right. Beautiful looking and sounding.
Also, did you mean to describe the sound as "superfluous"?
Man that sounds really good. What is the chain of sound we're hearing here? What Mic, into what, etc? Thanks

WANT!
Please post a video when you get your guitar.... even if it is just an unboxing. Thanks.
Born Alone
Holy flippin' crap. Kudos to Martin!!!
born alone - the whole love
Did we interrupt you playing Bron-Yr-Aur, Dan?
oh hey!

Does it come with strap buttons? I don't see them anywhere online and that's a problem cause I'd need strap buttons along with electronics
Pretty..
That is a sexy guitar
What kind of strings would you recommend with this guitar?
What song is it that starts around the 3:30 mark?
I have that strap in belt form
0.13s on it?

What was the first song he played
Wilco - How to fight loneliness
Whats the song he's playing at 3:35
Wilco - born alone
Whats the second song he plays?
Born alone
what is the pickup jeff uses live?
i know this is super late but a sunrise
It would have been nice to have heard some lead picking, and not just all strumming.
That winking at me was just weird.
Now I just have this awful feeling that I never be truly cool until I own one of these....why doesn't anyone ever just give me 2,400 hm? weird...
Yap yap! He's still talking! Oh....that's better. Sweet. Ummm...that does sound good.
sorry, i'll take a vintage martin any day before this one. it doesn't sound nothing like a vintage one, sounds like a brand new martin..
Amen
They'd all just sound like piezo pickup live anyway. Can't hear the actual guitar. This one sounds awesome through a mic tho!
Then buy a magnetic pickup
Or how about I just buy an electric guitar since magnetic pickups sound about as much like the guitar they’re on as I sound like the couch I’m on.
Dear lord, I need 2,400 dollars.

All this is is a 00-15 with a fancy finish and synthetic fretboard.
Yeah I'd honestly take a 00-15 with 1 3/4inch nut width over this any day. Would save about a thousand dollars and play exactly the same
If it's a real Tweedy sig, it needs to come with dirty, dead strings.
Just play the friggen guitar ,
