It would be interesting to follow your brother around to see what he goes through to put a project together. The general public has no idea what it takes aside from being an extremely patient person. Ask his wife to buy him a punching bag like mine did, fortunately I haven’t had to use mine much. Yet 😊

Thanks for making all of your content, it's given me the knowledge and confidence to build a 8x16 shed that had to be built to Florida hurricane building code. I wish I could post photos to show you what you taught me.
Yo! I'm so thankful for your videos and excited for this series. My wife and I are currently building a house from the ground up. Your videos have been the perfect blend of entertainment and education.
I wish I lived somewhere where new construction is abundant. Most of the stuff my company does is renovation/additions, it’s nice but not as satifying in the end

you speak for everyone? Your name is ironic eh? This is an introduction video to the series, just be patient. The next video will be like the rest of my content, focused on how.
Nope, the footings are excavated down because this is a crawlspace. As you'll see in the next video, they are designed for 6", structural engineering and stamped) but they always end up thicker. Remember, calcs run based on conditions where the house is built
all the permits, all the codes, all the hoops you gotta do just to build a house made from junk wood that will last ya 30 years as you pay a 30 year mortgage. while making the builders rich. Sub things out people. Contractors make more than half of what it costs to build the house. Save your money, buy some land. sub contract out your house build, do any work that you can do on your own. And if you are able to not build a junk house out of crappy brittle dried wood. Built out of concrete, and leave it for your grandkids grandkids. Not knocking the builders here, but they over price you and are part of what ruins financial freedom.
Well, I regularly drive by homes our company built 46 years ago and live in one we build 23 years ago. Your statement is so inaccurate that I'm tempted to delete it.
@@AwesomeFramers Post your profit margins if you want transparency. I am for every single citizen in America having a modest affordable house. It is something everyone needs and should have. I ditto this. Some of the behind the scenes cuts to like sequencing the build, purchasing, and budget would be good context to add.
It's all on his IG page

Been doing this 15 years and I'm still amazed how building codes cab differ across the country differ. Even from california to oregon and Washington
Shorter videos?? Shorter than 8 minutes? I look forward to this series, but hope the videos are longer than 8 minutes. Thanks Tim
They will be 👍
@@AwesomeFramers I like the long ones too. I LOVE your channel!!
Love the ground up vids

73-76k pounds for a ten cubic yard loaded concrete truck.
👀
Generally you tie your vertical rebar to your horizontal rebar. It doesn't appear that you did that.
Double mudsill this go around?
Nope
@@AwesomeFramers Curious what you guys decide is best going forward. We still spec single as well in Chelan county.
@@NicPottier definitely single here. I love Steve's detail, but this project won't have Zip R
Why setup power station when you have a generator
Easier and quieter. Plus not all the trades will bring generators, hassle for us all around

Yeah his is holding steady. Our grandma had it bad. Multiple surgeries

Your strip footings are only about 6 inches deep and just plonked ontop of the dirt ? At least you put steel in I guess 🫤

I cant wait to see this. I will be building a house this year into next in northern Massachusetts. I hope to learn a lot from you guys. Thanks Tim
Woo hoooo. Let's build gentlemen!!!
I figured it out. You kinda sound like Andy Woodhull the comedian lol
Hey Tim, just curious. Why only a single house on 6.77 acres?
Looking forward to this build series
Really excited for this series especially on the new format. Yes Tim the most important trade is the one who’s building the structure 💪
That is a beauty of a lot, wow,
👍👍
Those footings seem awfully thin.
Narrow? or deep?
They look fine to me, and I'm sure they're correct for the soil type and location.
They are engineered 👍
