Hi Kelly! Watching from Ontario Canada :)
Hi Kelly I am from Nj just found ur channel thanks for the tips n info
Very useful video, thanks so much! I noticed that you don’t have cages around your plants. If I do not use them, my flowers are so heavy that they droop to the ground. Peony and Ranunculus are just amazing flowers.
I think bec she cuts them mostly and also during the marshmallow stage. I feel like the peony flower buds gets heavier when they are getting closer to blooming. Just my guess
Thats my problem I dont use cages and they tend to bend because they're heavy so half of mine don't bloom properly 😅
Thank you so much. I'm from Atlanta, GA. I've always loved peonies but never had any luck in growing them. You've inspired me!
Omg WOW
🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
i'm from the Dayton Ohio area and I have some lovely Peonies and en joyed your dry cutting method
I just bought my first peony with some flower buds. I can’t wait to get her in the ground. This video was so helpful!
Glad it was helpful! Very excited for you . I’m sure you will love your peony flowers 🌸🌸
Actually I learned it was a seed pod, so I had to cut it off. lol. But it’s a beautiful plant so I hoping it will settle in and bloom nicely next year. 🤞

Great video! My first year with these beauties! I have two plants. Got a heavy rain and some blooms destroyed. Do I keep them cut off? And if I cut a marshmallow bloom do I just throw away the buds? I won’t have many flowers then with just two bushes. Thank you for your great info and knowledge!

@@ligahuga333 ooh cik jauki🥹😍Sveika!
Peonies are one of my favorite as well. I did plant my in pots.
Right now they’re no buds just greenery, not sure if I will get any buds this year or maybe next year 🤷🏽♀️ what do you think?
Bay Area here!
I planted my bare root about two seasons ago...green leaves and looks healthy. Should I see flowers this year correct? I hear it leaps in year three. I have 2 of them in pots. Can you put them out in the garden next year or fall?
Uruguay
Thank you for checking in from Uruguay
🌸👏🤗🙏🌻🌎
Can you grow them indoor in pots? They’re my favorite flowers, unfortunately I live in an apartment though.
I love peonies too omg beautiful. My son Matthew has a dog Burmese right like yours he got it for his so n Jackson they both love their rusty he is bigger than Jackson lol
Oh, from northern California zone 9
Beautiful peonies! I planted a root last summer. It grew about three inches and then winter came. This year so far it is about 4/5 inches. Is it too slow for growth rate? Will it bloom this year?
You have the most gorgeous peonies. Perfect perfect. Is there any flower that is like a peonies that blooms often? The flower tribe has forgiven your daughter. Lol
Ashland Oregon
Hey Kelly, I’m not getting as many blooms on my peonies as I used to. In 2018 I had TONS and every year since I get fewer and fewer. Any ideas?
Hi Kelly - this is Terry, I live in Boise, ID and I've been growing peonies for the past 5 years, I think. In the past 3 years the peonies have developed powdery mildew...OMG I hate it, the flowers are thriving but the leaves are ugleee. At first I thought it was the lawn sprinklers, nut now I think it's the dampness in the air. I have tried fungicide spray but i dont know, the leaves look brown and spotted. Any tips?
Thanks, how much should they be watered a week the first year ?
I wish so much that I too could grow peony. It's just to dang hot and humid for them in Savannah Georgia.
I’m in Savannah…I’m going to purchase some. 🤷🏽♀️
2:19 what kind of daisy is that? Its cute as a button!
What about when the buds turned brown? I planted some bare roots last year
Kelly, would they survive in zone 8, North Texas? Will they survive the humidity 🤔
I’m not sure . That’s pretty hot . You could try growing them but I would plant them in a place that gets morning sun and afternoon shade if possible so the sun is not so intense on them
Can you grow them in June
@KellyLehman I bought a potted peony plant but mine only has 1 stem unlike yours in this video has more. Will mine get more stems over time or should I get one with more stems instead?
I have several peonies that have been planted in the ground since (2017). They emerge and have beautiful foliage but never bloom. This year three of the plants flowered five others didn't. Should I dig them up and transplant them in a different place in my garden in the fall?
Oh dear, if I planted mine too deep shall I pull them up after the season or now? I just have green leaves at this point. Thank you. Love these!
I’d like to know as well! Over the years mine keeps getting deeper and deeper, and I’d like to dig them out. I just don’t know if I should relocate them now or in the fall.
@@rnguyen2516in the fall!
@@ligahuga333 thank you so much!
Kelly, if my peony leafed out and has red on the leaves, what does it mean/need? It’s been in the ground for about 3 years and flowered the second year (only 1-2 blooms), but now it just forms a couple buds and the buds don’t ever open anymore.
I planted peonies I live in lauisiana bought at Home Depot planted as instructions it’s only grew about six inches it has leaves. Any way I am watching to learn 🙏👍
So happy you are growing peonies. Sometimes they won’t flower if they are planted too deep . If there is more than and inch or two of soil over the highest eye ( the little red/brown nubs on the Tuber ) then the peony may get green leaves but no blooms . Good luck 🌸
Can these grow in the ground in San Antonio Texas?
Is this the same for when planting in containers
Yes . The tips would be the same for peonies planted in containers . 🌸
How do you keep pests from damaging the blooms before you cut them at marshmallow stage?
I leave the ants alone since they usually don’t cause damage . They like to eat the sweet nectar in the blooms before the flowers open. Other than the ants , the don’t get too many pests . What insects are you seeing on yours ?
@@KellyLehman I'm not actually seeing them but alot of the edges end up black and when that happens with my roses it's always thrips
where is your market sign from?
I can’t find where I bought it on amazon but I found these . They are similar

I just love you 🩷💕
I live in Georgia in zone 8a my peonies start blooming in April. Rarely do I have blooms that last past Mother's Day because the temperatures are usually in the "80's". They display their glory in two weeks and they fade & the petals fall off of the plant. Is that related to my growing zone?
Mine do the same and I'm in 6a..I don't think they last long..
I love these flowers but they always have lo😢of ants 😊
I usually just shake the ants off into the grass before I bring them into the house .
When I cut peonies at night- when its dark outside - I dont get any ants!
I thought they were pronounces Pee-oh-ni-s 😂
I'll be hearing this in my dreams 😂😂😂 Pee-oh-ni-s will never be the same.
