This sounds like this is done on purpose and to get rid of high paid teachers. That’s why the superintendent probably doesn’t want to get rid of that principal.

They did this at my high school especially to the black ones they were there the longest I graduated in 2015

If the superintendent can’t be willing to fire the bad apple principal, then that superintendent needs to be fired and replaced with a new superintendent who will be willing to fire the bad apple principal.

30+ teachers and staff that are planning to leave because of the principle and the board says she did "nothing wrong"?, with threats of legal action, clearly their is something "wrong". Definitely need more details on this. The principle should tell their side. Vegas already isn't a great place for schooling in public, but this is definitely an eye opener. CCSD, what do you mean the principle "did nothing wrong"? Please explain.

Las Vegas schools have the lowest scores across the entire country. They need to have better teachers.😢
That's not true. Nevada isn't even in the 10 worse states for education. CCSD isn't in the lowest 5 school districts. People need to stop blaming teachers and look at the parents. Vegas has always been a transient city. Does the district have issues? Yes. But they are not the teachers' fault at 100%.
This is why we should only have public schools that can be better regulated and tracked.
No. We need education vouchers, because like a business, if a school is not meeting the needs of the children and the parents, it should “go bankrupt” like a poorly run business. THIS gets results. Going through endless school board meetings, and passing repeated “reform” laws does little or nothing.
Wow, it sounds like parents should be worried. I hope all of those teachers get out and the District gets the message.

This is typically though in any school. If you get a bad principal, then all of the good teacher start to leave and transfer to other schools.

they do this to fire certified teachers and hire non certified teachers to pay them less. i do handyman work for two charter schools and maybe 5 out of twenty teachers belong there.
Stop spreading lies. CCSD can not hire non-certified teachers. The Department of Education doesn't allow it. Charter and private schools are allowed to hire teachers with degrees but not licensed by the state.

The complaint is the principal yelling and berating staff and the investigation showed no wrong doing
Honest, the Superintendent and School Board will do NOTHING as making a change will show they made horrible and unprofessional decisions! wow and the Teacher's Association and Union is just now getting involved? Great now find experienced, qualified, and professional teachers!

As horrible as it is working for a boss that doesn’t respect their employees, I wonder what else made these teachers quit in droves. The entire USA is facing a teacher exodus crisis and most of the time it’s due to the low pay, student behavior and treatment by parents and other adults. It honestly wouldn’t surprise me if the teachers at this school also quit because the students were out of control and the parents had way too much power. But of course, can’t say that about parents and kids!

Cat's out the bag. This happens all the time ( it's bad enough with the abuse from students and their parents). The only difference here is that it made news because the parents came together. Just as there is a shortage of teachers--there is difficulty finding principals that are are able to "principal." They become principals and forget what it was like being a teacher. The best thing now for TEACHERS is the desperate need for teachers--we can quit today and have another position today.

sigh. Look, I know newscasts have tighter budgets these days. Likely, they do very little research.
But, the number "30" means NOTHING. Is that double the rate of attrition? Is that 10% or 30% of the teachers?
Obviously, for one school, 30+ is a lot in one year, if they had that type of attrition rate on an annual basis, the school would be shut down.

If teachers leave it's usually because of the Administration ( the school district) principal, students and parents. It's not usually just the principal.

The school itself doesn't pay the salary. CCSD can't get enough teachers to be losing teachers. Parents aren't parenting their kids anymore. Why would you want to do a job with rude, disrespectful children, parents, and administration?

This is why every local school should have to answer to their immediate supervisors the parents, not some corrupt bureaucratic school board that could give two shits about your kids education.
School vouchers and being able to send your kid to a school that wants and works to get your business is the only way this is going to get fixed.
Wake up America
The school board is elected by the people - including parents - who bother to show up and vote. So the board is answerable to voters, therefore if the parents are not happy with the current board they can organize and campaign for and vote for those they think will do a better job. Maybe some or the parents could run for seats on the board themselves.
I find it quite funny that those who promote school vouchers like these would "lose it" if they saw who receive 90% of these vouchers. I am ending my five year term at one such school (85% school voucher)--Same bad behaviors of students and parents which has destroyed public schools.

@@ourcreativebeehiveprivate schools do that because they think parents at private schools want to see that because they pay. Homework should be a refresher of what was taught that day or week at school. A little lagniappe--many, if not most private school teachers are not certified to teach.
Id want to know more . If these teachers arent teaching school and are teaching the liberal agenda then let them quit. But if the principal is the liberal agenda teacher then they need to go . I want to know more because i don't trust parents teaching children anymore because of the juvenile crime problem we have in America and kids don't respect adults anymore and if you defend yourself against these demons you get in trouble because you should of walked away even though it means turning your back on violent teen mob .
