That is the identical cologne to the first truck that I ever owned, as in Owner operator at the age of 18 years old. Same color, same cab, same wheelbase. I still own that truck to this day. But the story of how I got that truck, is more sentimental than the truck itself.
My dad, and my dad‘s oldest brother are old East Kentucky Coal Hauler Outlaws, but in a crazy twist, they are the law at the same time. My dad WAS the elected sheriff in the county I’m, my uncle was the Clay City Ky Police Chief, at that time in 2004.
My uncle owned the K100, he agreed to sell it to me when I got my CDL on payments, I was still in 11th grade in high school. I drove that trucks wheels off that first month I took possession of it, and when that first payment was due, I went to my uncle’s house and gave him the first payment, he walked out on the front porch with the title already signed over to me, and said “I just wanted to see if you was really going to work hard, or if you was a dead beet who expected a free ride from family, but to my surprise you did impress me, so here!”
He handed me the title and said it is yours free and clear. I worked that truck hard and saved up a big down payment to buy a nearly new W900L, my dad co-sign for me to get that 2003 W900L, that looks crazy similar to your truck, and I still own it as well.
My uncle was shot and killed in 2007 that a prisoner, he was transporting, and lost his life right there on the side of the road, and our small town of Clay City, Kentucky. My father sadly passed away with cancer in 2011. So both trucks are home forever, no amount of money in this world could make me part with either one.

As a retired driver auto body painter I can't wait to see how it turns out.
get the low base seat and when you do a oil change put a gallon of Hotshot Secret Stiction Eliminator in. itll make all injectors, piston rings, turbo and all internals dialed in. That stuffs the real deal and will have it idling so smooth its better than any fuel treatment for sure.

The stainless air cleaner is both popular on K-DUBBS & PETES,,, if has pete encased on the bottom side seam jst get KW rectangular emblem & use amazing goop from Autozone or O'Reillys to cover it/ put on

Nice looking cab over, some good stuff to clean that interior is either greased lightning or spray nine but you might want to dilute it some, Spray nine is also a very good degreaser for cleaning the motor and inside the frame rails

Greased Lightning is a great degreaser but don't use it on aluminum.

You have to tack weld the door handle pin on the outside . look behind where your fingers open the door and see the pin the handle is a press fit you can reset it then tack weld better than new . instead of replacing it . nice ride thanks for sharing .

its a 12 volt system with a 24 volt start there is a series parallel solenoid near the batteries

Watching you guys work on the K100 I noticed the interior shots and remembered that the factory I was working at in the 80's; American Nickeloid in Peru Illinois; (actually I was there from 1977 to 2019) laminated the vinyl on to the aluminum or steel that the dash panels and glove box doors were made from. We laminated them then shipped them to a Harley Davidson stamping plant in Chicago to get cut; holes punched and bent if needed, Looks we did some fine work since they held up this long.

Justin I love the videos. Love the KW cab over Bj and the Bear style. One of my favorite shows as a kid. That and The Duke’s Of Hazzard. This truck also reminds me of the black semi they used in T2 Judgement Day which I believe was also a KW.

30 second wash from lowes!! Best cleaner ever! It has a little bleach in it! Best power wash cleaner out there! I do the house with it every spring! Makes my white gutters look brand new!
If you have a Turbo Nozzle, try using it on the tanks. The paint may come off easier.

Glad you got your new project, I was gonna say I'd do some sweet seat covers but I see you getting new ones , man I know how it is brother with new projects wanting to clean and buy stuff to make her look good but please get her running and dependable first before spending all kinda money just in case something major wrong and decided to resell if not worth , but of course I hope she is a good one. But that's just me brother 😂 And I said that other red and white one you had on the cover reminded me of BJ and the Bear but wasn't sure if you was even old enough to know about that 😂😂

Ditch them Peterbilt fuel tanks. Go find a cabover for parts, like the rack for exhaust and air intake. Making a lot of progress quickly! Keep it up

I have not read all the comments BUT please clean the battery contacts to shiny. That will make a BIG difference on the AMPS to the Starter and help lower losses due to heating...

hey also take a look at the steer axle lug nuts and studs. i replaced mine recently. the actual lug nuts will go bad over time and the wheel studs stretch too. peace of mind kinda thing 👍
