DLK stands for Double Lined Kraft paper basically recycled cardboard fiber. It's used to make more paper.
Paper mills are funny--they seem to think truckers know whats-what with their business. I've delivered cardboard for recycle to two different ones and you definitely have to use your detective skills the first time you go there.

Should of said lots of work,lots of requirements,lots of going here and there and everwhere for as you said okay money.

Also they dont want you to see them goin in and out of your trailer check your trailer for damage Those paper mills are hard on your truck and trailer I would bitch about backing in to that dock thats BS they got a loader that could clean that up in 5 minutes Be Safe

Your comment is similar to my opinion about these recycle loads--they pay bad and need to pay better because they are an ordeal to deliver (plus they are load to scale). I've taken several to Rome, GA and one to Jacksonville. The JAX load took 6 hours to get unloaded because there were 20 trucks in front of me when I showed up an hour early for my "appointment". Rome had the red strap. JAX didn't--I don't think JAX is International Paper.
Hopefully you didn’t have to wait to long for the load and then hopefully your already home with the family!!! Safe travels and I’ll see you tomorrow in the next one!!! They had a huge facility with the wood and cardboard going on there and didn’t make it to much of an easy drop for you!!! So happy your blessed with the patience you have I was a little angry and frustrated with the system they had but in true fashion you handled it perfectly as usual!!!

Nice mill. That deer has seen so many trucks come and go! We didn't have any " red straps ". We had chains with a clip on each end, maybe 2&1/2 feet in length. Same idea. Keep the bales from falling out on the drver. Paper Mills are very safety conscious. Those places are so big they can have 2-3 addresses and still be legit. P&G in Mehoopany, PA has the first gate, Gate 1. Then a sign that says, "" Gate 2 one mile " >>-->. Yeah, same building and complex. Proctor and Gamble, Mehoopany, PA. That place is all about Charmin toilet paper and Bounty Paper Towels. Maybe it's "Brawny"". Anyways, they used to have the log trucks and giant claw and chippers. Now, they're 95% recycled paper for raw materials. We brought them the ginormous paper tubes for spin drying the tissue and paper towels before they were cut down to human size and packaged. We do learn soooo much being truck drivers! God bless and safe travels!
Those types of bales are pretty stable. The ones that are made by small balers in grocery stores are not as stable. They can and do shift.

Use to live close to the papermill in Brunswick GA. When the winds blow the wrong way just like smelling dirty ass.
Holy shit! Is that a complicated booking in system or what! Apart from anything else you need a sat-nav just to get around the site!
That's what i hated about having to slide tandem's all the time. Now we don't since we have split axel trailer's. We are heading to Florida to deliver a load that has to be delivered by Friday. We are halfway there. And Nana is with us cause she wanted to go to Florida again. And a driver was heading there (Hotshot) and she was like hell i am going with (Driver) and even the driver said she can ride with him. And the driver is actually a very good friend of our's. And then like a hour later. Dispatch had a wrecker go tow a semi (Not Ours) due to the driver going to jail on charge's. And the trucking company reached out and begged us to deliver the load. And they agreed to pay us and they did they wired the money to our wire account. And then i transferred the funds to the main account. But the company receiving the product's is actually paying us the full amount they was going to pay the trucking company who had the load but lost it due to driver. So we made $$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Justin we have been to that truck stop cause it has one of Jesse's favorite place's to eat Subway. a driver that we had would always cut the strap's off and trust me that pisses us off. If they reject the load and refuse to accept it. I had enough and terminated him cause Jesse was about to toss him out of her. He was declined his last paycheck. And he was giving a bad work reference. When the company that was about to hire him asked us for a work reference. I just putdown negative stuff that he has done. And they stated he's not hired. And we see him all the time pushing shopping cart's at Walmart. $#@!~ i seen way nastier loading area's. I showed Nana she was like yeech what the hell is that crap around the loading dock's. And Jesse said he has refused to deliver loads due to the loading dock's like that. Or even flooded with water so high. I actually went swimming at a loading dock that u have to go down. And Jesse was like no wonder u have your bathing suit underneath. We was going to the pool party the church was having. And we did go there later that day and had fun. Ok Jesse just spotted Panda Chinese restaurant. And Nana was like there's truck's there across. And Jesse carry's Nana on his back. And there is a dollar tree i spotted so we are heading there to get snack's. And trust me Jesse get's the big thing's of Rice Krispie's footlong snack's.

We had a driver killed a few years ago opening his trailer doors before backing into the dock. The bales were leaning against the doors. CCTV showed he opened the first door and didn't see the bales leaning, as he opened the other door a bale of scrap paper fell out crushing him. They can be 2000 lbs. Safety straps are now required.
