So.. It's 8 months later, and as expected, this game is dying out.
Hoping the new Battlefield is better. 2042 has been improved but still far behind BFV.
Don't you mean "Far behind BF4" ;)
The most important difference:
I bought Battlebit for £12. I launched Battlebit. I jumped into a 128 player game. It worked. There was no lag. Everything worked. Glorious chaos, intense competition and hilarious moments of camaraderie... and all of it just worked.
amen
And also jumping into that match took all of one button. No store prompts no dumb menus just a single click on the player count you wanted and like a 10 second queue
Dude the worst thing about BF 2042 to me was the hit registration. I have never complained about hit reg in ANY game but it was awful in BF 2042.
Also the high frame rates on a PC equivalent to an old dusty shoe. Underrated with the price of new hardware
Tbh for me im getting a bit if a wait and the occasional lag since its taken off. But id rather have that over waiting 20 minutes for 1 server in 2042 and it being half bots
Thanks for putting the game titles/logos on screen, it was confusing which is which.
That's a joke right?

Bruhhhhh 😂🥹
"Vaulting animations too slow in battlebit" The vaulting animations are dependent on how heavy your loadout is, using your running speed modifier to determine their speed - as well as the size of what your vaulting/mounting. A medic with a SMG and pistol wearing little to no armor, no helmet and no backpack will run faster, vault faster, and even climb ropes faster than a support wearing heavy armor and carrying a LMG.
Thank you.
You cannot think in logic way, its forbidden nowadays.
like in hideous destructor
The new COD generation that didnt play the first Call of Duty games ( 1&2 ) are used to a soldier with full fucking gear running faster than fucking Usain Bolt.
You can also currently just crouch jump through a lot of normal sized windows without vaulting, which bypasses the animation and just jumps you forward, but we will see what they end up doing with those mechanics. Make sure to split your vault / jump hotkeys to avoid accidentally vaulting too.
Can we all just appreciate that these two merit a comparison AT ALL? Congrats to the Battlebit Remastered team.
It's a joke video, u regarded fellow.
COD and Battlefield are choking on their own greed. COD has been doing it longer I feel.

The fact battlebit was made by 3 people is really mind blowing. Think what they could do with a full team.
With full team they would do exactly bf 2042
it took them 7 years
Bigger team means you have to start thinking about paying salaries, which brings deadlines, monetization etc.
Battlebit is as great as is it precicely because it was done by a small team out of love for the genre.
@@firebird4491 And they're made because they need to pay salaries to all the devs etc. Yes, they also want to make a profit but no matter how good hearted a developement team, they're not going to pay the salary of a team of 100 people out of their pockets with unlimited deadlines and no guarantee of getting their money back.
Big agree with the majority of opinions here.
The less your project is just a passion project, the less control you have over your own project. This only worked out for them them they have no deadlines.
Most AAA devs will absolutely make better games given infinite resources. The problem I'd that they aren't. They are given a finite budget, not decided by them, while having to deal with deadlines, investors, and in general, appeasing people other than themselves.
AAA failures are hardly a problem or talent. They don't get where they are Today if they have a lack of passion or skill, both of which are necessary in AAA game dev. However when you work for a big publisher, while you have access to more money, you also have way more limitations over all compared to indie devs.
Battlebit proves that gameplay over graphics is all that matters in video games.
That's false. It works in some contexts such as competitive war games like these two, but it absolutely would not work in others. In many games, graphics are not only utilized as the visualization for the action, but rather is part of the story telling and creating mood.
The story of, let's say The Last of Us for example, would not be the same with Roblox graphics and would not have nearly the same impact as the story and mood itself is not grafted around utilizing low-poly graphics. In games like BF and COD, specifically the multiplayer component, the action is number one and that kind of gameplay loop lends itself well over less realistic graphic design.
But this works the other way too. Minecraft would not be the same game if it had high-poly photorealistic graphics. The gameplay loop is specifically designed around blocks and would not work well in realistic environments as that would set hugely different expectations for almost all the gameplay elements.
@@anteshellI think graphics exist to enhance the goal of the game but only work if the game is good
@@gianttacogod again, very situational. In some cases you are not wrong but as a blanket statement that is simply false. That kind of simplifications of a very complex and broad issue jost don't work.
@@Nick930 I am not so sure, this is not a one off case is it.
Look at minecraft...as well as many other mediocre games, fortnite art style is trash, among us, fall guys, though fall guys visuals and art style are still top quality.
DayZ arma mod which became PUBG was immensely popular, trash graphics. CSGO, TF2, all dated.
Obviously visual graphics have hit diminishing returns so where games like battlefield that try to be realistic are now hard to stand out, games with a basic art style like battle bit actually do stand out.
@@Stinkyremyfortnite is far from mediocre, it has way more mechanics than most games and the art style is the reason most people play it. Idk what world you're living in.
The biggest difference is:
I bought bf2042 for 90€ and couldn't play it for months.
I bought battlebit for 15€ and it worked like a charm. No Shop that tells me to buy stuff even though the Game ain't working. No "only in Battlefield" stuff. No "we have Levolutions." dont forget to mention this is an early access title. it will release more content and polish the game over time
Battlebit is better straight up for the proximity chat, the gunplay is arguably better but it literally does not matter if it’s not, the voice chat makes the game so much more fun

And of course if you’re shooting someone that hasn’t been healed fully by a medic, they’ll die pretty fast, but that’s why prox chat is a thing, so you can ask medics to heal you.
@@enjoi9970just don't get shot noob
Your forgot about the most important thing in battlebit, player interactions with proximity chat, talking to ally’s and enemies mid war screaming for a medic or ammo is something else
Its not really unique as it was in many of the shooters ive covered before. But i would love to see battlefield finally incorporate it
It may not be unique, but this was a comparison video between battlebit and 2042 with one having proximity chat and the other not having it. Same thing with the point system, building and SL beacons. I dont understand why that crucial information that can drastically change the way the game is played would be left out of a comparison video.
@@Nick930 is all good, great video no matter the fact
I think an important aspect to remember about Battlebit is that it was originally envisioned as a more hardcore sim like Arma or Squad rather than a more casual FPS like Battlefield. It was adapted to be a sort of diet simulator, which is why you don't have stuff like jets since the Army doesn't use jets
Certainly explains the bandages, squad leader only beacons, low ttk, and the need to combine mags. I'm curious if they end up adding in a "hardcore mode" and a "casual mode" to appeal to both gameplay styles
@@Nick930 127 vs 127, only one life. Man, that actually sounds great. Kinda like field games with air-soft or paintball guns. Only it costs $12 instead of $1,200.

Actually noticing, battlebit guns actually have a bit of a mechanical rattle near the endvof the clip, its sutble, but definitely noticable to be able to tell you're going to run dry and need a reload.
Also, in battlebit, when you're on something that the casings would make sound on, they do! In battlefield 2042, they seem to be super loud even when landing on grass LOL but battlebit, the grass has the casings landing silent!
@@Darlexis I notice with quite a few battlefields recently, the sound design is actually kinda poor, it's just dolled up in a lipstick on pig fashion. It's so focused on "sounding nice" that it misses some vital details that are actually felt more. Actually an example that was noted about guns like the P90, the bullet casings are also modelled to come out of their gun accurate position, so the P90 has its exhaust and casings come out of the bottom since that's the ejection port.
You could also extend this to the graphics, sure battlefield looks gorgeous, but it's also cluttered, and often in ways that end up feeling really bad to play, this is then countered by them raising the contrast, but this too creates its own clutter.
Shouldnt be a thing really. So many Games have this terrible feature and its not even possible to turn it off.
@@_synt3rax_437 idk they added it to valorant and I love the feature. @@_synt3rax_437 guns like the AK platform have this in real life you know. And even if we did have an active hud for ammo count, in a game as chaotic as this, that kind of sound design is vital to decision making

@@Nick930Maybe dont focus on graphics or number of players in a match so they can have more features
@@bonjemondidn't people complain and cry when battlefield have 128 players? Why the change in attitude buddy?
You forgot to mention that squad leaders can put down rally points (similar to squad) to allow squad mates to spawn safely near contested objectives. Also encouraging teamplay!
Battlefield has spawn beacons as well. The concept isn't necessarily new or unique to games like squad. The idea of only the SL placing them down was initially in Battlefield 2142.
@@Nick930 I more meant it as the fact that you mentioned spawns were limited more in battlebit... but didn't mention this aspect of spawning which arguably plays a larger role in Battlebit than Spawn beacons in BF due to not being able to spawn on contested objectives.
Battlefield 2042 allows players to spawn on contested objectives, battlebit does not.
That was the point of bringing up the topic. Yes, there are spawn beacons in BOTH games, but battlebit is obviously more limited here, and yes, it slows the pacing down in a weird way.
@Nick930 but I think you still kinda miss the (rally) point here. Battlebits spawns are alittle more limited so it makes the squad leader rally point more important than the recons spawn beacon in battlefield.
@@Nick930kinda missed his mark I think. Spawn becons are one of the largest influences on a game of conquest for example. Having 2 different enemy squads spawning on the edge of a map all game in your home spawn, may win a game. Hence why he asked why it wasn’t mentioned.
I think battlebits relatively weak vehicles, lack of attack helis and jets are actually positives, keeping the focus on the infantry (that being said vehicles can still do quite well in the right hands)
They didn't want a vehicle meta, and I think they did alright with the balancing atm. I need more hours on vehicles tho
As a vehicle player i think it's jussstt enough to satisfy me. You get big xp for transporting, a good pilot is rare so you will be liked, a good gun crew is still good. So it makes it ok. I wish the land vehicles were a little less floaty and sensitive but whatever
They managed to keep vehicles impactful without being overbearing. A good LAV can tear up infantry, but one or two good tandem rockets and it's gone in an instant, similar with the tanks but with a bit more bulk. A good helicopter pilot isn't racking up 300-400 kills in a match unlike in Battlefield either but helping move lots of people, so people can still have fun on the ground. Plus no jets makes it easier on helicopters and ground vehicles, as a good jet pilot in Battlefield is practically unkillable, except against another good jet pilot.
It's weak till everyone around you are either not engineer or forget explosion charge ... Oh wait, there is one brave guy with C4, go for it!!!
And... the LAV got him... never mind.
Those unique moments like that made Battlebit a fun game to play.

I really think that something that people just forgot is the fact that the games are made to be fun. Your game can have the best graphics or be played by everyone, but if it isn't fun, it's a bad game
An interesting detail when you keep firing your gun, is that the audio slightly changes when you're about to run out of rounds in youe mag.

Honestly agree. Even as an optional feature. I love that Battlebit can run on really bad machines, with such a low point of entry, but further optional enhancements for those who can get more out of the game would be nice. It's understandable if they don't add something like that cause I know they wanted toa stick to a really simple style to keep gameplay as the focus, but small improvements would be sweet

I find the difficulty in identifying your teammates nice since t makes things so chaotic on the frontline, and it also puts a bit of delay on sniping which makes it easier for people to run between cover.
Graphics aside Its kind of embarrassing that a low poly game made by 3 devs is better than that of a tripple A studio...
i know Battlebit has issues with friend/foe identification. As a low-poly arcade sim, the TTK and difficulty identifying friends gives it an element of realism (IRL, armies will use armbands since camo is so similar)
exactly what I think, and I enjoy the chaos of not knowing exactly who someone is when they first popup on your screen
Just so you know the whole armband thing going on in ukraine is because ukraine needed to get as many combat uniforms as they could and lots of the ones they already had were the same as Russia's. Because of this they used tape to make it clear that they were ukrainian despite the wide variety of uniforms. It is not ideal to use tape since it defeats the whole purpose of camo and soldiers are trained to ID friendlies or enemies even if the uniforms look similar

A BF creator called Ender reacently released a video with the recoil issue - the center of the screen is basically not actually kept in the center when you shoot. Both the center and recoil are completely off-set whenever you try to shoot, and self adjusts after several seconds of continuous shooting.
So, random bullet deviation?

In one of my first Battlebit matches, a match dragged out for so long that at the end of the battle, almost all the buildings were either completely destroyed or lacked 50% of their walls, there was pretty much no cover to use for my team and the enemy took huge advantage of this. It was the first time i had fun in a MP game in a long time. Now sadly though i just get sniped from hundreds of meters away by the P90, when i first played, there was a lot of new players and they had the same weapon as me, and i who just play the game for a few matches got a huge disadvantage now, because of how higher unlocks are just better.
BattleBit is a pure example of gameplay over eye-candy.

The vehicles are very weak on purpose, the devs are avoiding vehicle metas at all costs because they are just a worse game. 90% of the players will be infantry, not in vehicles, so therefore the vehicles should be relatively weaker to make the overall game experience more enjoyable.

When I bought 2042 in Dec 2022, I thought that this specialist thing was just wrong. But with the reintroduction of classes, if you ask me "For the next BF, would you rather have specialists (like we have right now) or default soldiers" I would probably be happy with both choices.
The worst thing is that some medics would get snipers and just camp miles away from the action, being completely useless. But other than that, I really enjoy being able to pick whatever weapon I want for my classes. For example, I really loved the BC2 medics with LMGs, so I do like to run medics with LMGs.

Battlefield 2042 is such a selfish trash game, literally everyone running around with no care in the world.
My biggest gripe with the game's larger maps is that the vehicle spawning system seems to be a little too lean, and it's really easy to end up on a base with zero vehicles in range and can look forward to 400m run to the next objective. Assuming you can go straight for it and it's not a map with deep ravines/cliffs that might require you to run even longer to reach it.
I wish they would consider adopting a system more closer to Planetside2. Where you spend vehicle points at fixed vehicle spawning stations. Which if you think about it. Is not so far from the resupply system that BattleBit currently uses. At least in Planetside you can always spawn a vehicle if none are near.
Apparently there will be an audio rework coming up soon for battlebit, so I'm hoping for some sexy gun sounds
It is so frustrating that a game made by three people is better than a game made by an award-winning game studio.

It feels like just yesterday that EA took down battlefield Mobile due to being unable to deliver an immersive gameplay experience since the dev team was too focused on constrained graphics as well as struggling with the new game engine they were trying to implement. then came battlebit which felt like a breath of relief to fans.

I stated at the beginning that one is a small indie project, and the other is a massive big budget game. And i reiterate this at the end, concluding that at the end of the day, solid gameplay is more important than visual design.

with regards to battlebit not having parachutes; I've never seen real military personnel parachute out of a blackhawk so it does make sense to rappel out or wait till the chopper lands
Thats why i really think we developed too fast in the graphics department. Its almost always the priority by these companies rather than having an immersive and actually playable game.
Who knows how much crap we couldve put in open world games like gta or red dead if the graphics were just a tad bit less. Imagine how much they couldve put in there with less storage space, easier to just PLAY without anything having to load long or crash, time and money saved and makes these devs be more gameplay focused, etc.

In battlebit, when you are nearing to empty your mag the sound when shooting sounds raspier.
Battle bit is made to run on 10 year old graphics cards giving anyone the opportunity to play. More people, Fuller maps, more games. I think they should port over to the PS4.
Let’s make games that drive down the newest tech… that makes sense.
I think the main selling points for battle bit are: Cheap, proximity VC, more cod like gunplay, launch and join a game no bs or ingame shop.
I feel like battlebit is way more readable due to the simple graphics, imo visibility is over all better in that game😊
that battlebit 50cal is CRAZY sound design
Ramping up the bass doesn't make for good sound design just like turning up the bass doesn't make for good speakers/headphones.
I loaded up 2042 after a long while, like a couple days ago, and I was put off by the look crate-ness of it all. But whatever, I load in. My settings are gone, and so had to set them back up for some reason. I alt-tabbed out and tried to go back, and the frickin alt tab bug is still present!! WTF that's been there since launch! I immediately realized I've been missing nothing and uninstalled.
The bad graphics also make the game lag and run better, I feel like more effects can make it better, similarly to Minecraft simple graphics but it's an particles fast with many atmospherics effects
I am really amazed, how they brought balance to casual and hardcore shooter. I never played anything like that. It is so rewarding and fun. I bought it for 15 dollars expecting nothing, and I got best fps experience since csgo.
you should do a video on "the finals"
battle bit needs sound engineering mostly for when there's a lot of action. + i cant hear from where sounds come from
7,000 people in game vs 6,000 on 2042 as of 9/11/23 on Steam. Wow, WIDELY "popular"! Customization, scale, and framerate are all better on Battlebit but that's it!
i think battlebit is doing great stuff but it is still a little too arcady. Though i do mostly only play milsims and tac shooters and haven't played battlefield since 3. I'm excited cause theyre planning to make a more hardcore gamemode though. so far its very impressive!
BF3/BF4 veteran here. I loved those games to hell. BF1 and BF5 when they came out felt a little underwhelming to me. When Battlebit came out and after playing it for the first time, I felt the nostalgia from BF3/BF4....
Ok so whats your take on bf2 huh? Just gonna ignore it?
Also. Battlebit is infantry focused they want to avoid vehicles become too OP like in any battlefield game.
And they will never add planes or parashutes, like mentioned before. Infantry focused.
I kinda compare Battlebit Remastered to the animated movie Hoodwinked. It may not have the best graphics but it is complimented by the sheer amount of fun
You forgot that one of them make my pc explode while the other i can play with a weird noise around the cooler
Very, very well done mi amigo. Battlefield 1 was god mode and I often wish I had access to a game like that currently. Bought a high-powered PC to re-live those memories, but EA doesn’t give a single solitary fk about cheaters. It’s the ultimate bummer.
Haven’t played the battlebit yet, but this gives me hope for the future.
I feel like most of the battlebit points were out of sympathy on 3 man team vs huge corporation evil
I remember being used to thinking “better graphics, better game”. Now sometimes I feel like its “worse graphics, better game”… 😅
Also devs said they won't add jets and BB doesn't have shotguns like BF and they also won't add it.
i can imagine some battlefield dev's playing together Battlebit "that game is fun" "yeah man much better than other games"
hold up
i usually run BF2042 on low everything so i dont think i ever noticed how good the game actually looks graphically holy shit
You missed the crafting walls of all clases and the rally point for the squad lead.
Rally point for squad lead is a battlefield thing.
But yeah. I wish i had mentioned the wall building. I dont find it all that useful. But occassionally its nice to use for defending
@@Nick930 It is if everything around you is getting destroyed and with majority of maps that have big open spaces, it helps with pushes and rally points (but I get what you're saying)
@@Nick930 Rally point was for the sniper in battlefield i remember, and the crafting of walls you can use it to enter high buildings or jump high walls as defending yourself.
