  • In this video we're going to show you three major reasons. why not t o buy a Kia or a Hyundai? the first one is that they're very susceptible to theft.
Second, being a lot of insurance companies don't want to cover them for this reason.
The third reason is because a lot of the Kia motors at 100,000 miles end up exploding.
Keep away from these vehicles by all means.

In Europe, they are fitted with a mandatory immobiliser. (Law since 1998) The technology exists, for those vehicles, but is not fitted in the US as it is not mandated, so the expense is spared.

Man, they're really popular in Europe. I live in Scotland and they're everywhere. They offera lot of bang for your buck over here

muricans get alabama made theta engines... and they of course dont want the guvrmnt to do its job so they have no regulation requiring immobilizer so easy stealing on lowest trim models...

I was close to purchasing a I30N with the 2.0L Turbo motor, instead I opted to go with The Mazda 6 and the 2.5L Turbo motor, it was less power but the build quality and the feel of the Mazda was just leaps and bounds above Hyundai. Dont get me wrong the Hyundai has come along way, but for longevity (I keep my cars for 8 years) I trust japanese.

Are you saying they are easy to steal because of something with the ignition?

Yes, and there are no security features like passlock or chip keys. You can just pop the ignition out and turn it with a pair of pliers and you're off.
