This song was written either by Airas Nunes, a Galician troubador or Alfonso X, the King of Castile, Leon and Galicia whose mother was Elisabeth of Swabia, a German princess. Elisabeth's mother was Irene Angelina, the daughter of Emperor Isaac II Angelos of the Byzantine Empire. So, Alfonso X's grandmother was a Greek. The greater European legacy, eh?

Never heard this song before I saw this concert posted on RUclips. I am a mature man in my 40s and yet I cried... And I never cry! It was so unbelievably beautiful how you sang it along with that angelic choir! I was baffled by the fact that no one applauded at the end... It's wonderful indeed. Sorini has a great voice. I think though that with Micrologus he makes an even better case for this mesmerizing tune, with more rhythmic vitality and instrumental detail.
