@@RedBeardedJoeI use the Bridge Cast for a year now. Perfect for me. I don’t know why the prices is the US are so high. I payed 150 euro new and incl. VAT 🤷🏻♂️

So I just got this, and honestly, your video was way more informative and easier to follow than the user manual I found, so thank you for that! I do have a suggestion that I think could really improve functionality for users and should be simple to implement. It would be great if the outputs could also be assigned as features. This would allow for quick control over levels and give users a visual reference of what those levels are. I’m using this for streaming (non-gaming related), and knowing those levels at a glance while live is really helpful. Another small suggestion (more of a personal preference) would be to make the labels a bit more general-like “input 1/2” and “input effects.” This could broaden the appeal to a wider audience. It’s not a major issue because the hardware and current functionality are fantastic. But after my first use, as someone who’s been eagerly looking for something that offers this level of performance at this price, I just wanted to share my initial thoughts!
I feel like interfaces in this price point are starting to understand things that users want/need in a device because said users have to find solutions elsewhere. The power to drive microphones or headphones is a nice touch, and the on-board processing of effects is as well, however, anyone that starts to get serious with audio quality starts to see the flaws as they become a little too much to bear. I feel like its heading in the right direction but not quite there yet. Either that, or I need to up my price point and find something that does what I need it too. However, I've yet to find something that supports VST plugins but also does what these new interfaces do. On-board processing is a nice touch, but further tests are needed to see if the rolland bridge cast one beats the Beacn studio. I saw a video of someone showing off how poorly the noise suppression of the Beacn can be, and how its baked into the device to a point that - currently - isn't togglable. It seems that it is togglable on the Rolland from what I can see here, which is a positive, but then that means using a third-party program to run VST's for proper noise suppression, which defeats the purpose of the on-board effects. I think the next ground-breaking thing Interfaces need to do, even if its at the $500, $1000 or more+ level is include some kind of VST support or even loading a limited number to be run. That said, that sounds like a crazy thing to do. There's a company that does something similar to what I'm looking for, but for a different aspect of audio. Specifically guitar. Two Notes can load custom IR's(which are essentially amplifier speaker samples to run audio from a guitar amp through) onto its Torpedo Captor X to use in place of the on-board IR's or purchased from Two Notes IR's. It's akin to running it through a custom, third-party EQ at the end of the chain of effects for the microphone, so its not entirely the same thing.. however, it is a device that loads a "custom third-party eq" onto it and uses it in the chain of effects, on-board. Which when compared to the forced on-board effects of these interfaces is a step above and a step into the direction I hope interfaces go. Interfaces need to be able to load custom VST's to be considered ground-breaking in the future, in my honest opinion. Some of the new features in these new interfaces are absolutely amazing, but feel as if they still are just not there yet from being perfected. But damn are they getting good!!
@@theoutsiderjess1869 There's a few that do console now. Beacn Studio being one and now this Rolland one. I'll definitely agree that the ease of console audio capture is very appealing.
Just seeing this video after returning from TwitchCon, but I spent about 30 minutes talking to them at their booth and left absolutely blown away by the products. For the value the Bridge Cast One is incredible, but I think the Bridge Cast X really took the top spot for me because it has the potential to replace just about every desk-space-consuming device needed to run a stream, as well as utilizing the capture function for a camera rather than using a Cam Link (even more value for that price).
2!!! Having separate faders for chat and game volume that visual feedback for each would make it much more intuitive and user friendly. Resetting with the middle button is also a nice touch for quick adjustments. Roland should definitely consider this!!!
Roland is primarily for music production and for them to dive in this market just shows that they're trying to get their tech in everyone's hands outside of music production. 2 is the way to go for the sliders in balance mode
Both balance modes have advantages. Number two seems intuitive but if you mess up how you're doing it you end up turning both down or up, which option one doesn't. That said it doesn't matter imo. The user will learn the device and use it accordingly. Either will be intuitive after a week of regular use.
No opinion on this thing 'cause I just have a lowly USB mic, but that end screen with the chopsticks coming in to grab the subscribe button is so awesome I'm going to steal it right now! Kudos to whoever came up with that.
When you do the roundup of the 3, would love you to add in a 4th one, the Presonus Revelator io24. It also has onboard effects, built in DSP, and can be had for $100 now

The IO is so appreciated. If there is a descent API for this, it's an instant buy.
Hoping to see music production related info (ie: Vocal recording & instrument recording) in the coming comparison video. This device is very promising. Love the vid!
Visually, it’s interesting to see the idea for managing two channels independently but gotta remember that we’re working with only one rotating encoder here. How would lowering the chat (turning the dial counter clockwise) be detected independently from raising the game volume (also rotating the dial counter clockwise)?
I'm going to go with 2. The Bridge Cast One has lots of value for what you're paying, and I'm immediately getting it as soon as I find out there's a retailer selling it where I'm from. Also, the mic was a bit quiet, and it's understandable that Harris only used 50dbs, but I'd have liked to seen it at 60 or 65 just because the SM7B do be like that.
For the dial options from a UX perspective it would be best to keep it as option 1 but make the top/center LED remain lit at all times in a different color. The reason is it keeps the same behavior that nearly all other fader dials use while keeping a visual representation of where the even level point is. When the dial is turning it below half, the game volume would be maxed and chat is fading. When the dial is turning it above half, the chat volume is maxed and game is fading. When in center, both are maxed.
I wish this was an option when I started investing into a mid teir budget streaming set up in August of 2023. I did end up buying the original Bridge Cast over the Wave XLR simply becasue it was on sale for only $70 (in Canadian monopoly money) more than the Wave XLR. Thier software definetly does need some tweaking though. That being said I like your option 2 for the game/chat fade. Btw thanks for all the straming advice videos! The lighting tips were a huge help!
Hi man, a bit off topic but I have a question about your headphones. I see in your setup video you say you are still using the Steelseries arctis pro wireless. In a video 2+ years ago you were checking out the Steelseries arctis nova pro wireless, what was the reason you didn’t switch. Back then you said you noticed a slight delay when using the aux input. I am asking as I am in need of a secondary headset with both aux and usb inputs along with bluetooth and you seem to be one of the few that emphasizes the aux in feature. I already have the Steelseries arctis pro wireless but I notice some white noise and I am having some difficulty pairing it to the base station. I was wondering if it’s worth switching to the Nova and wanted to know what made you stick with the regular Steelseries arctis pro wireless. And if you have had any trouble with pairing and white noise, how did you fix it? Not sure if you will see this but I figured I'll try.
Recently got the podmic usb(for the usb) but now I like that if I want to get that XLR goodness I can go with this ( podmic is cutest mic imo, and this is cutest (maybe top 3) with lotsa features interface imo) ...I don't like big and bulky things and algorithm gods bless this vid , ok bye
1️⃣ It depends whether that knob is working like a crossfader or whether it is functioning as 2 individual faders. You push crossfaders between 2 signal chains. If you want 2 individual faders you should in theory have 2 individual knobs or push between functions. 🤷🏼♂️
This is super cool. One thing I would love to see is an extra (I don't remember the name or size of the input) port to be able to connect an instrument, like a guitar for example, for us music creators. It would be awesome to be able to find something with this functionality for music creators that doesn't cost $300 plus. (looking at you Mackie)
I am actually looking to upgrade my audio interface (from 1st gen Focusrite Scarlett 2i4) and I'd be very interested in a direct comparison of those three. I already have Stream Deck + so XLR Dock seems like the most fitting choice for me although would like to see if I'd be missing something getting it over the other two.
3. What if instead it was a light that showed where they were being balanced so if they were equal the light would be in the middle but if you wanted more chat and less game then you would turn the dial and the indicator light would move to that side
Yeah unfortunately right now the only way how to use a microphone with XLR on the Xbox Is to have a separate audio interface and then plug auxiliary out into a splitter which connects to your controller your controller. Then you connect your headset to the splitter so you can hear your audio.
2. Having to increase the game volume in order to decrease the chat volume is not desirable. It is likely to lead to a louder overall level while adjusting. Overshooting too loud is uncomfortable while overshooting too quiet only an inconvenience. With the mode 2 I can at least quickly decrease one volume without having to effect the other. Alternative proposal: set the knob as a crossfader. Click the knob to set target max volume level. Compressors or adaptive gain keep the sum of both chat & game within target volume limit
2. it is more intuitive. I use a Turtle Beach Elite Pro TAC with a dedicated slider to adjust chat versus game sounds. I like the idea of adjusting their volume separately. If I were to replace it with something that supported an XLR microphone, I would pick the R0de Rodecaster duo or the Elgato Stream deck. This is interesting, and I am looking forward to the head-to-head review.
I bought a used Rode AI-1 for $60, its missing the fancy features, but does a bang up job at making a $30 stage mic sound crisp. Basically all I need for work calls at this point.
Been watching your videos lately and this one is pretty recent but I've been going through your audio videos. I currently have a astro mixamp with a40 headset. I recently bought some iems and I have no idea what I need to improve audio. Between these audio interfaces. Dacs and amps. Is there anyway you can make a video on all 3 of those? Thanks. Keep up the great videos
great your videos as usual, I wonder if you can make a video and explain to us or give us your opinion on the best "EQ" parameters for a Rolande bridge cast with a PODMIC . Thx
I have the OG bridge cast. Unfortunately they definitely are using a lot of digital gain to get that much of a mic gain. I’d definitely still recommend an in line booster if you want really clean signals on an sm7b, cause I definitely needed it
ALMOST perfect add switchable monitor control (audio monitors and you have a an all in one solution for many of us without the need for a daw or digital mixer especially when just knocking on some utoob content. Stay safe.
Be interested in your comparison video to hear your thoughts on the direct monitoring performance for each. I was really excited after your video of the wave XLR that I bought one but was disappointed with how the monitoring sounds. Was a deal breaker for me.
As someone who does live sound I really like #2 as a concept but wonder how well it works in practice. Also impressive Japanese skills? Really cool device. I wonder if there are some church live stream.
I like that you added a segment about connecting consoles it would be nice if every device in the future you talk about you say if it is possible to mix consoles in as its something I rarely see people talk about. Also it would be nice if you went into more detail about like for instance my setup I have 2 pc's and multiple consoles it would be nice to know if I can connect all the devices at once or if I have to pick and choose. Ideally a device would be able to connect multiple pcs and at least 1 console if not more when using a switch but finding info about this is impossible without just buying and testing myself so it would be nice if you could test these scenarios.
It’s a fantastic game mixer, but considering the budget, I’d suggest the MAONO G1 NEO. It’s priced at just $50 and offers many of the features, making it a great affordable option!
I’m still using the goXLR mini, with a rode procaster xlr mic. Would this be a good upgrade or should I continue to stick with the goXLR? In your future comparison video, could you add the goXLR mini as well please.
I have the Shure SM7B and a Bridge Cast X with my Xbox Series X and PS5 plugged into the HDMI ports on the Bridge Cast X and an Elgato HD 60X for my Nintendo Switch as a vtuber on Twitch and RUclips and will be adding Facebook Live to my streaming soon too and I love my setup
So does this have direct microphone moitoring then? My scarlett does but its not great and I would love latency free monitoring. Thanks for the video this seems like what I'd want as a next purchase that could solve a lot of my problems
I have the bridge cast and I think that it's very bad for rejecting background noises. (And I have an SM7b) Next time I will buy the Rode Rodecaster Duo I think. Maybe that the preamp is not very very good
yeah, roland REALLY IS an audio company (a good one for that matter) and it showed streamers and streaming was a.... second thought. it wasn't in their headspace yet. seems like they moved to it eventually, which is really good, they're really competent 75db with this clean of a preamp for this price years ago was unimaginable. good to see how tech evolved and become cheaper
Someone who owns an XLR microphone and a mixer it feels like I see a video everyday of a new audio interface, but what a lot of these review videos struggle with is telling me how they're different. Great! I some new buttons and new dials how does that make my life better?
What I need to know: Can you assign the physical mic channel to control mic monitoring level as opposed to actual mic output? That would be amazing , I'd buy immediately.
Praise be the AUX in! My monitor doesn't have speakers but it has a 3.5mm out so I have been using my Yamaha AG06 to mix my aux in with PC audio when I have my game consoles plugged into my monitor. Do you know if the Bridge Cast One has live monitoring of the AUX port so it can both capture the audio, but also forward it to my Line Out speakers?
i want an audio interface like this that has the ability to connect audio through bluetooth simultaneously. It would be nice to play music or videos on an Ipad while also keeping it seperated from our PCs audio. Having the option to use external audio sources on a 1 pc setup. i dont like that you have to switch between the PC and the AUX input with that toggle switch. not a deal breaker for most, but i would definitely buy this if i could play external audio while keeping all of my PC audio... even if i couldnt control the external audio from the Roland software.
Processing on device is great but is using the PC to process really that big of an issue? Looking at Stream Deck and Wave Link, They are combined using 5% or less of my CPU at any given moment.
how were the gaming EQ preset settings derived and for which headphone have they been made for? The headphone you wear will have an equally large effect on the sound as these EQ settings Without knowing the headphone that the sound is going to be reproduced over, there's no way of knowing whether a certain frequency range is overrepresented or underrepresented. The EQ settings shown on the bridge cast seem to imply that e.g. for Apex you need 3 dB more energy at 1.2 kHz, but the fact is that individual headphones differ by much more than 3 dB among each other, so you can not possibly make a statement like "every headphone needs 3 dB more". For some headphones you'll need 3 dB, for others you'll need 1 or 6 dB. For others you may even need -5 dB.
I heared sooo much from you... now i have the beacn mic and mix at home... still not getting a great result... is there somebody that can help me set up the mic so i have a crisp voice? Or should i go with this thing and a rode podcast and go the xlr route? 😅
Both options sound good, but they could also have 2 different modes where either can be chosen in software. A little more work on their end? Probably. But at the same time, I imagine the original is already fully developed and if your idea ends up the most popular, they will still have to make those changes. So why not both? XD
is there driver support for the new Snapdragon X Series, AMD Ryzen AI 300 laptops? it looks small and powerful. perfect for a mobile studio when recording while travelling.
Between the big three, which one are you most likely to buy?
The fifine sc3 it suits my need but if i was to pick probably the roland
Hey do you think you can take a look at the hyper x audio mixer?

I have the OG bridge cast. Unfortunately they definitely are using a lot of digital gain to get that much of a mic gain. I’d definitely still recommend an in line booster if you want really clean signals on an sm7b, cause I definitely needed it
I am not bias but I think 2 is way more intuitive for streamers becouse you want the sounds to go back to where you had them earlier.
2 because simplicity is awesome
I like your option of controlling the audio better. If Roland is reading this go with his idea, please!
As someone who does live sound I really like #2 as a concept but wonder how well it works in practice. Also impressive Japanese skills? Really cool device. I wonder if there are some church live stream.
Number 2 would make me instantly buy one, and I already own a Goxlr Mini
2. It is similar to Astro MIXAMP. Thank you Harris!
Very interested in a comparison video of the 3 devices.
This seems pretty legit and simple to use.
It’s a fantastic game mixer, but considering the budget, I’d suggest the MAONO G1 NEO. It’s priced at just $50 and offers many of the features, making it a great affordable option!
1. Most other mixers with a similar style use that method, so it keeps muscle memory
That is a hard 2, that is such a good idea!
2. I think that idea sounds practical.
So does this have direct microphone moitoring then? My scarlett does but its not great and I would love latency free monitoring. Thanks for the video this seems like what I'd want as a next purchase that could solve a lot of my problems
2👌🏼 Looks dope and price is good
Awesome price point 😮
Definitely 2. Seems easier to understand personally
2 for sure!
I have the bridge cast and I think that it's very bad for rejecting background noises. (And I have an SM7b)
Next time I will buy the Rode Rodecaster Duo I think.
Maybe that the preamp is not very very good
yeah, roland REALLY IS an audio company (a good one for that matter) and it showed streamers and streaming was a.... second thought. it wasn't in their headspace yet. seems like they moved to it eventually, which is really good, they're really competent
75db with this clean of a preamp for this price years ago was unimaginable. good to see how tech evolved and become cheaper
2, yeah that's 100% more intuitive. Not that their way isn't, it's just that #2 is easily more visually understood and makes more sense.
Another Roland W
Someone who owns an XLR microphone and a mixer it feels like I see a video everyday of a new audio interface, but what a lot of these review videos struggle with is telling me how they're different.
Great! I some new buttons and new dials how does that make my life better?
This looks like a cool product
What I need to know: Can you assign the physical mic channel to control mic monitoring level as opposed to actual mic output? That would be amazing , I'd buy immediately.
2. That seems significantly more intuitive!
2, but why not a 3? Triple click to toggle between for everyone
Random question, what XLR cable is that? Looks super nice
honestly i like the idea 2 cuz it makes seem easier to control
Praise be the AUX in! My monitor doesn't have speakers but it has a 3.5mm out so I have been using my Yamaha AG06 to mix my aux in with PC audio when I have my game consoles plugged into my monitor. Do you know if the Bridge Cast One has live monitoring of the AUX port so it can both capture the audio, but also forward it to my Line Out speakers?
2, but we are both musos so that might be why it's intuitive for us.
2. I like that way much more, and it would give much better control
i want an audio interface like this that has the ability to connect audio through bluetooth simultaneously.
I think having a software-based choice option would be better, so that each person can decide what they find most practical.
Processing on device is great but is using the PC to process really that big of an issue? Looking at Stream Deck and Wave Link, They are combined using 5% or less of my CPU at any given moment.
how were the gaming EQ preset settings derived and for which headphone have they been made for? The headphone you wear will have an equally large effect on the sound as these EQ settings
Without knowing the headphone that the sound is going to be reproduced over, there's no way of knowing whether a certain frequency range is overrepresented or underrepresented.
2 for sure
Both options sound good, but they could also have 2 different modes where either can be chosen in software. A little more work on their end? Probably. But at the same time, I imagine the original is already fully developed and if your idea ends up the most popular, they will still have to make those changes. So why not both? XD
You gonna do the new shure mv6? I'd like to see your opinion it bs the beacon
Will this power 250 ohm headphones??
is there driver support for the new Snapdragon X Series, AMD Ryzen AI 300 laptops? it looks small and powerful. perfect for a mobile studio when recording while travelling.
i def like the second option that harris made where its either left or right to change things but that's just me
