Jay Brown you gotta tune it..with a programmer. Or laptop which means find a tuner that can hook up to ur cars computer other wise you will have that check engine light on all the time
How the hell did you turbo a natural aspiration engine??!? I have a 2012 2.4 Malibu ls and I’m trying to figure this out or just drop the 3.6l v6 in from a ltz
ok quick list. 1st. I removed the first cat. cut off the flange and made it fit a t3t4 flange. gonna need a turbo. oil feed and return lines. too hook up the oil supply line you have to make a "t" off of the oil pressure sensor. once you have that done find tubing and elbows to make a custom intake from the turbo to the intake. if you do your turbo flanges right your exhaust will hook right back up. again, I removed the cat and put the turbo in it's place. The oil return line was plumbed into the oil pan above the fill level. (at the highest spot) add a boost controller and keep it turned down. a obd2 CAN 2 scanner is good to have to reset any codes they run for $15.
Just wondering how much did this cost, Im looking to do this to my dads malibu, but he's hesitant because it's seems like it'll cost more than the cars worth.
It's the 2.4 four banger. I haven't seen a kit made for it yet. I built the turbo exhaust manifold and down pipe on this car in a few hours. You just need a t3/t4 turbo flange, a welder, sawzaw, and grinder a long with other stuff.
that looks to be right. notice the turbo has the right flanges to replace the cat and mount in it's location. 2k isn't bad but I did it for almost free because I had the turbo and welder.
This isn't the cobalt motor nor is it configured the same way. This motor is turbo charged which is completely different than any supercharger set up. To this day, I've still haven't seen a turbo 2.4 Malibu in this model.
The le5 lsj and luf motors or the 2.0 2.2 and 2.4 share a lot of interchangeable parts I have a lsj intake manifold on my le5 2.4 with forged wisco custom pistons and rods 80 pound injectors eton m62 supercharger with a 1.8 pulley and stage 3 comp cams ported and polished head coil over suspension and brimbo brakes all of those parts where designed for a Pontiac g6 but you can make them work with a bit of know how but most bolt on
you basically remove the first cat, cut off the flanges, weld on the turbo flanges and install the turbo. Takes a little fabbing and shopping around for the oil lines but it's easy. A T40 turbo would fit better than the t50 but it fit. I picked out a radiator hose that had the right bends to make the intake tube but that was just to get it going. it's better to pipe it up and use the rubber bends for the elbows. The oil feed line has to be tee'd into the oil pressure sender sensor.
91057617 I made a T that adapts the oil pressure sensor and oil feed Line. they cost about 30 bucks on eBay but I made one from the local hydraulic line stores. 5 finger discount lol
Rafael Ernesto Valdez we felt a small gain. its only set at 4psi on the wasted gate spring. needed a tune to turn it up. it put down 147lbs stock and 167hp after I forgot the make torque count.
Not my cup of tea, but major props for doing this.
What was the final result? Do you drive it daily? Did you tune it? All kinds of questions!!!
I swear officer it’s an eco tec. Bone stock.
What turbo did you use
Where did you get the turbo from? I’m looking to do the same on mine
eBay
How did you get the car to not throw a check engine light soon as I put a call or ram intake on I get a check engine light

me: oh fuck.
how did you tune it? and how much boost you running on an ECO motor?? is that a 4cyl??
Michael Miller .its a 4
Dude go find another video if you need info. This isn’t the one
Who did your tuning
This is sick man how did you do the oil return line
Just plumed it into the oil by pan with a brass fitting.

Took some fab work, was fun doing but a 6 banger would smash on it. I could turbo anything, did this for a old friend.
So when you are you coming to the land the 216 CLEVELAND area 🤣 if you have a chance look up project 216 here on RUclips
Were is ur shop located
How did you run the oil drain line?
SKILLvsPILL
drilled a return line into the crank case and screwed in a brass hose fitting. Make sure you change the oil before you restart the car.
How do you do this? lol
Do you have a parts list? I want this on mine.

@anonymous this one had no intercooler but I'm sure one would fit behind the bumper if you mod it right. Plumbing is how creative you can be.

It's very cheap if you can get a turbo kit, welder, and grinder.
SKILLvsPILLS what turbo kit did the guy use ?
All u had to do to it is tune it and you’ll be good 👍🏻🔥
How do u tune it
My 2010 malibu running lean po171 check for vacuum leaks changed co2 sensors cant find what's wrong
Needs bigger injectors. Unplug the o2 and it will run rich.
@@SKILLvsPILLS what do you mean bigger I think myengine is 2.4l and why unplug co2 sensors
yo bro u gotta do this to my malibu got the 2.5
Can I pay you to do this to my Malibu?
im confused...is it suposed to sound like that from factory
we cut off the muffler before the back wheel. Side exit exhaust.
is that a V6?? I have a 2012 malibu lt has 4 cylinder i was looking to give it some boost ?

Wtf lol you are the second person I seen to turbocharged a 2.4
really easy. just deleted the first cat and welder on a t3/t4 flange at the right angle.
SKILLvsPILLS the other person that I know that did it said not to go over 7psi cuz it can mess up the pistons
You got any videos? Like in IG I can see?
Japheth Maradiaga it's my buddy's car. He has all the videos in his phone.
But I was the first to do it. Lol

What kind of exhaust are you running.
Muffler delete, no front cat.
what motor is this?
2.4
SKILLvsPILLS 2.4 ecotec?
Sounds sick any check engine lights and was it difficult
no check engine lights. just took fitting to large turbo in and welding. we deleted the cat and welded a adapted the flange to fit.
SKILLvsPILLS where did you connect the oil line to?

Can super charge anything
Sounds awesome! how much horse power?

I just bought one and looking to turbo charge it can you do that for mw
My state doesn't require smog testing so I was able to turbo this car by removing the catalyst converter.
@@SKILLvsPILLS hey man is there a way to message or call you privately i need help to install this turbo kit with intercooler
Aye yo what’s your part list
If the turbo is making the engine cut out then there’s something wrong
He turned it off at that moment. The car ran great.
SKILLvsPILLS ok
How much to do this to my 2008 ls
Under $400. Paid $250 for the turbo and oil lines. $100 for the ebay welder. Then some fittings and tubes for the intake.
Truth not truf
Can I do it to a automatic
Yes, this was a auto... Turbo replaced the cat...
Bro u have to tell me how u did this !!
I deleted the first cat and replaced it with a turbo.
Alright bro thanks !
How much? We're are you located
I’ll turbo your car for $5 if you ship it to Anchorage Alaska 😂
