    Thinking about one but might get the kit so I have a switch to turn it on when I want not just to reverse. It would be nice to have for unhooking and hooking in the dark.

      It's really nice to have. I don't really trailer anything. So I was ok without the switch.

      Where do you get the kit for the switch?

    it would've been easier to get power from trailer hitch wiring , is closer and it works the same as back up lights with a bigger fuse. they are so bright I am getting a set for myself

    Man you are so much better off to wire them to an independent switch instead of backup lights.
    You don’t need them on every single time you backup. Probably 90% of the times, he’s daylight.
    Secondly, if they are wired to reverse lights, you have no extra light when you get out to hook up. You can’t leave the truck in reverse so they stay on while you work behind the truck

      Thanks for the input. I've owned the teuck for 4 years and only trailered 2-3 times. I have a longer driveway that I back up quite a bit. So it suits me just fine. Thanks for watching.

    what happens when you need to attach trailer safety chains and the lights are in the way?

    • @BreakdownswithBrian
      @BreakdownswithBrian  6 месяцев назад

      That's a good question. So if your chains have a little slack in them, you're fine. But if they don't, they will hit/rub the bottom of the light.

    Hey how did you mount the lights to the tow hitch assembly? Mines has the nut of the bolt inside the slot, and if I mount it that way, the bottom of the tow hitch bracket does not line up?

      I can't put pictures on here. But I had to shovel it in there. Was a tight fit.

    What about back up camera washout?

      @@BreakdownswithBrian That’s awesome, I just found your channel. I’ll have to watch a few more of your videos. I just recorded a video today on the receiver mounted light kit and found yours after searching to see what others have posted. 😁👍
