    Another great lesson, Rusty!
    Joe Walsh said he had to invent a "lead/rhythm" style because he was the only melodic instrument. This is the chunk-a-chunk muted sounds between chords.
    He replaced the original guitarist in the James Gang. They were a 5 piece band, until one day, while traveling by car to Detroit to open for Cream, two members quit. In order to do the gig, Joe had to play AND sing for the first time.

    Wow Rusty, you've excelled yourself this time! Before it was Jimmy Page & Eric Clapton, now Jimi Hendrix, Lynyrd Skynyrd & Joe Walsh. Just need Carlos Santana & you've covered all my favourite guitar players! Excellent lesson & explained so thoroughly & yet so easy to understand. I've been looking for lessons like these for the last 50 years! Don't stop - I may turn into a decent player one day! Thanks once again.

    I’m certainly glad we live in a digital age. I would have burned up the tape hitting rewind on these lessons, like I did with albums and 8 tracks in high school. I play these lessons over and over, I’m getting soooo much valuable info, especially for a beginner like me. A lot of it is a stretch, but it’s good to have goals. This is so awesome, thank you Rusty for all you do!

      Thanks so much Dave for taking the time to watch my lessons! I definitely wore out the recordings back in the day trying to learn stuff for sure. But most the time I only had a small portion of it right. But the older I get the more I love playing these old classic tunes! Most of these lessons even a beginner will get something to take away. Good to hear from you Dave and have a great weekend.👍

      Thanks Ray! I would just pick a few songs at a time that you really enjoy listening to. And then search out how to play them and break them down. Talk to you soon.👍

    Excellent tone! Which pickups are you using?
    Love the videos. Great playing. Well-spoken explanations. Immediately applicable concepts.

      Thanks Mike! I’m glad you like the videos. I bought the Guitar used. I just know that bridge Pick up is a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates. It is a great sound of Guitar! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday Mike.👍

    Good stuff Rusty! Question,
    What picks do you use? Your picking is so soft and sounds great with your tones.
    Thanks!

      Hey Jeff, I use a standard fender, medium style pick. With a light touch. But I also do a lot of hybrid picking. Plucking up with my first and middle finger. Thanks a lot for checking out the video and let’s talk soon. 🤛

    Rusty, one thing important to me is getting the right sound so my ear (and me) pick up things easier. What effect are you using? I kind of got Hendrix dialed in and then it seemed to change for Lynyrd.
    Thanks.

    • @rustysguitar1
      @rustysguitar1  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hey Michael, I was using the same sound for all three songs. I just switch pick ups. I’m using the Revv G 20 amp set clean and driving it with the Revv tilt overdrive pedal. Also some reverb from the Strymon BigSky. On the first tune, I used the neck pick up. And the last two songs I used the bridge pick up. That is my core sound and I can really change it by using different pick ups on my guitar. Thanks for checking out the video.👍
