    Wish there had been teaching like this when I was 8 years old back in 1971. Mary Had A Little Lamb just didn't cut it for me back then...so I gave up. Learned open and barre chords, but never my scales. Now at 61...never too late to learn some lead. Thank you Rusty for these awesome videos...simplicity but with massive power.

    Another lesson worth it's weight in gold! I've learned so much from Rusty that I completely understand each lesson, especially those involving minor/major pentatonic scales. But I watch each and every lesson because he slips in something I didn't know or understand. Rusty, you've heard me say it many times, you are a goldmine of guitar information. Folks, watch this man and learn from him. You'll grow as a guitarist much faster than you'd expect. He is a fantastic teacher! Cheers, Rusty.

    You speak my language. I like your point; it is clarifying and freeing. Using the whole 12 note pentatonic pattern is like holding a whole set of wrenches in your hand to remove one nut. Make less notes say more musical phrases. Throw a more complex run in there somewhere if you like, but make those notes speak The Truth.

    • @rustysguitar1

    You should do a lesson that shows how scales, like the pentatonic just repeat themselves (in the same octave) in the next box up except for the first two strings. So basically you just extend the scales with the first two strings into the next octave. I hope that was explained decently at all.

    Excellent. I like the way you show us how to break down the extended pentatonic scale into sections so we don't get overwhelmed by the entire scale. If you have a couple of more blues licks we could add to it that would be great. I will probably find the licks myself to put in my memory. This may be your best video because it's giving us the foundation. It's the core of playing the blues all over the fretboard in different keys and just memorizing the form in each position. Just ad some blues licks, bends and we will sound like Albert King, Freddy King, Buddy Guy and Clapton. Thank you so much. Please keep these videos coming.

      Right on! This is how I actually visualize the fretboard. Looking at four or five note boxes across the neck. I appreciate the comment and thanks for taking the time to watch my videos.🤛

    Thanks Rusty! Can you suggest some cheaper equipment we can purchase to record backing tracks and then add guitar over it and have it recorded? I also have drums and a bass, but have no clue what may be available to record any of it for under $500. If there is anything available for less money.

    • @rustysguitar1
      @rustysguitar1  5 месяцев назад +2

      A lot of people use the computer to record. You would just need a small interface to do that. They also make small digital recorders that are inexpensive. Thanks for checking out the video.👍

    So 5 notes minor pentatonic add the blue notes is it a major scale now. ?????

    • @rustysguitar1
      @rustysguitar1  5 месяцев назад +1

      The blue note just adds a Bluey sound. But it’s still a minor pentatonic. Thanks for checking out the video Tony.👍

    You lost me after you moved to the 6-8-6-8 frets. my fretbiard diagram shows the notes are not the same (C-D-F-G) as in the first one. How do you know they fit unless they're the same note?
