What are your thoughts on the Stinger Heigh10? And did you manage to get all the OBD features working with the BMW engine? I know some features are only available for the 2.2 pumas and not the 2.4, so interested to hear if they all work with the M57? Thanks 👍
Another great conversion :-) Maybe a question for one of your Q&A video's but have you ever looked into any type of V8 diesel conversions? I remember the 6.2/6.5 GMC was popular for a while but understand they were not great on reliability and very heavy but as the years roll on has anything caught your attention that may make a nice conversion? :-)
I love these cars you build. I wonder if you ever thought of a colabaration with Diesel Pump UK. Id love to see your interiors and designs with their 606s no electronics basically analog.
I'll be making an appointment.. I've researched everyone and everything and keep coming back to Mahker.. This has made my mind up. Can you give a just ballpark for this conversion to my 2008 2dr 110 2.4 Puma?
I have a low mileage e46 330d but because time and BMW is not best of friends i can not keep up with maintenance and repairs on the suspension, chassis and interior but the motor being a m57 is still golden . Recently discovering @wearemahker made me very tempted to the obvious
So a bit like your comment on a om606 engine, you like using bmw saloon, coupe engines in 4x4’s, I like defenders, learnt to drive in one in the Army, but they are unreliable, the engines are rubbish, that’s why companies like yourself make lots of money replacing engines and everything else turning them into great motors. Good work.
I wasn’t saying the power is wrong or the dyno is wrong what I was meaning is the torque is produced at a very high rev range which is not ideal for a 4x4 you want high torque at low rpm if you want comfortable driving experience
yes, i agree....Why spend money fixing the old puma motor only to have further problems with it in the future. When that money could have been spent on a far superior M5
Another first 💪🏻🙌🏻
Best OEM conversion I’ve seen so far. That M57 mounted on the MT82 seems perfect 👌
Thank you!
The customer is bang on Iv dealt with Dave while building my m57 defender and he’s always kept me right 👌🏼.
Thanks Jordan I just want my customers to enjoy their Defenders to the max
i agree, the way things are done, with the goal of excellence and detail, is why i keep coming back to dave's work...keep it up!
Thanks for your kind words we might not work the fastest but we only want the best to leave our shop 💪
@@wearemahker same "problem" here...but it is rare these days, keep it up!
What's the rough cost of getting a 2.4 to M57 swap done these days? Im assuming the 2.4 engine still has resale value? (Excluding any extras)
Ah yes I need to know this too
@@gregayre243 Yes I would also like to know a rough price?
same here, was always my engine to chose as a replacement …….costs would be nice to know ?

Can a m57 engine be put in a Range Rover sport L320
Thats a nice conversion. Are you planning to install anything to protect the front mounted winch?
Dave answers this in our latest Q&A - thanks!
Have you ever put a m52 engine in a defender
Can you do the bmw B58 as well 😊

Don’t hold the gear stick as you are driving. It will wear your thrust bearings prematurely. Just saying.
Torque band 4000/5000 mmm
If you’d like a Dyno print out Rob we have 720nm at 4600 RPM it was a public Dyno with over 100 people watching before you say it was fiddled with.

M57TU had 500Nm/2000 rpm.
