A very thin big wool scarf is a must have for me. I can use it as a blanket in the plane and while traveling in so many ways 😍. That way I don’t need bulky jumpers while traveling ❤️✨✨✨
I just went on a trip to switzerland and also packed only a carry on. I was the one with the least amount of bags and I didn't miss anything! At the end of the trip I wore or used everything I packed. That's the best feeling ever :D
We are going to Switzerland too and hoping that we will only be bringing a carry-on. Not sure if that would be possible for 3 weeks. How long did you stay?
@@kenikenZ dude it’s not that hard I’m on a three week in Germany just bring two or three full outfits and go to laundromat once or twice a week. One of my pairs of jeans ripped but I just bought some cheap ones at h&m. The only downside is every picture you take you’re pretty much wearing the same thing.
Great tips! I used to be an overpacker, but I've definitely evolved. My last vacation, I only brought my Vera Bradley backpack & smaller medium travel bag(for over the shoulder). If it weren't for the fact that I had to work and bring a lot of equipment, I definitely would have been able to use only my backpack. One tip, try to pack light for at least one trip, and it will change your life! You'll never want to over pack again!
Love your choices! And envious that you’re able to fit all this in a carryon! 😂 I wear a size 4X in clothes and my shoes are a size 13 wide, so I would need a suitcase twice that size to fit my items! Love all these tips, though! I’ve come to terms that carryon life isn’t for me! Haha! Thanks for sharing!! One tip I always follow is to use packing cubes. I find I’m able to keep items much more organized and I’m actually able to fit more in my suitcase when I use them!
I'm going to Berlin very soon with my boyfriend, for 10 days, so this video is right in time! I always take too much with me and I'm searching on the internet how to avoid to bring too much. This helps a lot! Thank you!
This has been a very insightful video. I find when I go away I tend to over pack, I take stuff thinking I’ll need it but I then end up wearing the same things all the time so I take clothes I don’t use. This is something I am definitely going to work on the next time I have to pack to go away
I would definitely say it depends on how much support you prefer! I know some larger chested people who really enjoy the organic basic bralettes, but it really depends! 🤍
I love wearing sport's bras during winter and I am a dd. And it really helps in reducing the size of the girls. Especially for travel they are very comfortable.
I'm curious to know what your experiences at the airport was like, knowing that this virus is still around. Were there any extra precautions that the flight staff made sure of besides keeping masks on?
Lots of precautions! Before entering the plane they have temperature checks, they boarded planes back to front, they offered sanitizing wipes when you entered the plane, and most flights I had at least a seat but often a whole row between me and the nearest person! Plus everyone wearing masks of course
This was crazy helpful, thank you! I'm going to upstate NY in a few weeks to see my partner's mom post-surgery, and we can only take a personal item for 8 days (I don't want to pay extra for baggage), so I'm really excited to play around with minimal packing! What I've come to love is compression/stuff sacks, because you can compress out all the air and they are multi-use, sturdy, and oftentimes waterproof. I was packing for a 3 day backpacking trip in the mountains (got cancelled due to fire in the PNW this past week :/ ) and using a 10L Sea To Summit compression sack I was able to compress all of my clothing besides my coat down to the size of a coconut. Very excited to utilize them for my NY trip!
Great informative video. I’m packing for 3 weeks in a carryon and slim backpack to Australia and New Zealand with stops in Singapore and Tokyo then home to California.
My partner and I had been planning a trip to Japan before Covid hit, so I’m hoping we can go in the future! As far as tips go, I think making a list ahead of time and sticking to it helps to not overpack (I am a recovering overpacker).
You posted it at the most perfect time! I’m packing right now for a week-long road trip! I may have to take more athletic clothes & shoes because we are going to partake in hiking & other outdoor activities! But this was very helpful!🙌🏼
That’s so exciting Lianna! And for sure! Use this list as inspiration, but customize it to what you’ll be doing on the trip! Also... have a great time traveling! 🤍
Ashlynne.. I learned a lot from your channel & I’ve applied many of your advice & tips, including the packing thing... but this exact topic is very difficult for me because I cover up (I’m a Muslim & my religion requires me to wear a headscarf 🧕and cover all my body) 😊😊 So I’ve to pack more pieces of clothing to be able to cover up... anyway I’ll still follow all your other videos... I’m a big fan ♥️♥️♥️
Hello, tried to search for cardigan, but no results. Was wondering where you got your cardigan/brand or if you can give a link to a similar cardigan. Thank you =)
After discovering your channel...I seriously started thinking to become minimalist and I think that I'll do very well because I already don't like to own and spend too much...thank you Ashlynne ❤
I like using deep conditioning (bouffant bags/shower caps) over my shoes in my bag to protect my clothes. They are available in stores such as Sally beauty supply. They are essential in the salon as a hairdresser like me but valuable in your suitcases.
How do you use your bujo? I use one too, and I'm interested in knowing more about minimalist use in it. Also - I am LOVING your channel! I've been subscribed less than a week, and you've been incredible in helping me live a more intentional life. THANK YOU!
Absolutely awesome! I also love packing using carry-on bag. I am using my Nomad Lane bento bag as my carry-on, it is a duffel bag that packs like a suitcase! It has a trolley sleeve and key leash and can fit under the seat! I just love this bag so much.
I love this video, thank you! Would you do a video where you show all the different kinds of outfits you can make with the clothes you mentioned jere? Maybe some examples of what you wore in the trip to keep it versatile? Thanks!
For most international flights you are restricted to one item of carry on and perhaps a coat or clutch/sling (very tiny bag). The total weight on some flights is as low as 5kg although 7-8kg is more typical. A hard suit case with wheels is about 2-3kg. They may be great for wheeling around an airport but not on dirty paths and roads or through puddles in rain. A backpack of 33-40 litres is half the weight and more giving in expanding to include clothes for more than one season of weather. Either way don't pack more than you can carry unless you are sure you can get a car/taxi everywhere. The station exit is two up and two down set of stairs 20 plus platforms from where your train arrived. That 15-20kg bag soon feels much heavier. With two bag travel you can put restricted items (scissors and any form of multitool that might pass TSA wouldn't pass security elsewhere) into cargo and carry all expensive and essential stuff (meds, electronics, soap, change of clothes) in a backpack. Packing cubes - particularly compression and clean/dirty for organisation. For digital nomads a tech organiser sticks all those cables, dongles, SD/micro SD cards, spare batteries, chargers, etc. into one easy to grab bag. I transferred all photos and video to my laptop and uploaded each day and cleared the camera/mobile. There are so many choices with different levels of organisation from a simple pouch to multiple pockets and dividers. Lay out what you need to carry and then get one that fits. Sometimes two small bags are better. Pocket hard drive and power pack in a hard case for protection; cables etc in a softer pouch. Towels take up so much room for trips. A microfiber towel that wraps around you packs away in a small space, less weight and dries very quickly. I have used it also to "dry off" items I have washed in the sink in hotel rooms.
I put smaller bags in my purse I carry every day so I do not lose things. Travel tip... I take small nonperishable snacks with me even on short day trips.
I'm definitely saving this video for the next time I have a trip to pack for! I always overpack and never use everything I take, and it's a pain to have all of that extra stuff with me. I'd love to be able to pack for long trips in just a carry on 🙌🏻
You are Amazing. I went to Seattle in January last year, I was there for 2 week. I packed way too many clothes. I was at my daughters, she has a washed & dryer. Next time I will know better. I learned alot from this video!

Do you have a weight limit for your luggage in the USA and Canada??? Here in NZ, I find I can fit my gear into a carry-on but the bag is often overweight ☹️
I wish I could pack like this but when I go to Europe for a few weeks at a time, I have to pack heavy. 9 times out of 10 the local laundromats or hotel laundry services are so expensive so we can’t wash clothes during the week.
We had a trip to Bali booked the DAY before the virus hit the news. We would have been lounging by a pool drinking cocktails right this very moment. Except for this mess. Oh well. Hoping to go somewhere sometime in the future. Right now we can't leave our state (Australia) unless we want to quarantine in a hotel for two weeks at our own expense. Like that works *cough* Melbourne *cough* lol.

some tips are interesting; but I went 4 weeks traveling with much less clothes and make up than this; so it is hard for me to call that minimalist - or you did not plan to wash any clothes in 3 weeks maybe?
Bought second hand shoes once specifically tennis/van type shoes & got a plantar wart that took over a year and 1k worth of drs cryo treatments to remove. NEVER AGAIN.
(Edited bc my first comment was kinda harsh) "...my Love, Beauty, and Planet shampoo and conditioner..." Oof. Unilever...bleh. I get people don't know if a product is green washed or if a product comes from a shady company, (and I buy dandruff shampoo from P&G since it really works for me) but anytime I see someone buy from Unilever, and Nestle, I can't help to cringe.
@@vampiricvirgo That's what I figured. It just sucks that so many people buy stuff like that and not do any research on the products, my past self included.
Berke Im still looking for an eco friendly shampoo/conditioner that works well for curly hair :/ Hopefully I can switch to all eco friendly products someday
@@vampiricvirgo Same, I can't say I'm exactly eco friendly, as I use Head and Shoulders, which is in plastic and made by proctor and gamble, and that's the best thing for my hair. I didn't really think too much when I first replied, as between limited options and funds can require someone to buy from a company that's shady. And @honey, I didn't mean to seem as harsh as I came across, I just have a gripe with Unilever in particular because of how they not only employ kids and pay their workers next to nothing in less fortunate countries, but they've also caused people to die due to poor work conditions and they've done nothing but try to cover it up and forget about it. I have nothing against people who use these products if it's their best option ( like how I buy from P&G, another not-nice company) or if they just don't know how bad the companies are, I'm just too quick to say " that's bad, you should do better" instead of informing " hey, they aren't a good company, so here are some good alternatives". I do apologize for jumping the gun, and honestly, thank you for kinda calling me out.
@@vampiricvirgo Oh, and I know there are shampoo and conditioner bars that are eco friendly, and they're packaging with cardboard. I'm not sure about their prices, though.
You look so gorgeous all the time 😍✨. I really love watching your videos your videos help me calm me down and let me sleep peaceful. 🌷🍁 Lots and lots of love for you and good wishes from INDIA 💗💕❤️❣️✨✨🌷🍓.

Do not travel with unlabeled medicine. I was on a plane and a gentleman passed out. There was a Doctor on the plane and when he asked if the man was taking any medicine he was handed a large bottle with a bunch of pills. He gave it back and said he could do nothing because he didn't know what the pills were or what they were for. I travel with well labeled bottles, one in my hand luggage and one in my checked luggage.
How do you clean your silk? Most silk garments are dry clean only & dont have a long life... also theres the issue of it being made by boiling the silk worm cocoons alive so they can have long silk strands vs broken silk strands from the moth naturally breaking out. So for those of us who are eco/animal friendly even if we arent vegan it feels pretty immoral to wear silk. Especially when bamboo and linens are not only less expensive more easily available last longer and are simple to take care of AND dont include violence. Unfortunately silk worms are so ancient and domesticated that they wouldnt exist without silk farms however they can be farmed without being boiled alive but then the silk is of lesser quality and most people prefer more money than less violence. I have 2 silk lined dresses from over 10 years ago that i got as a teen and wore to weddings so maybe twice each dress and had them dry cleaned and they still ended up with stains from human oils/sweat and just general degradation. ive since educated myself on various topics like fast fashion silk farming among other eco/animal friendly processes and also becoming a better kinder person putting my money towards responsible and ethical sources as much as i can but yeah. if i can find silk or leather or other biodegradable non plastic sources of clothing second hand i pick them up and so far ive not come across any silk and frankly i dont think its worth the money or time or energy even second hand not contributing to the demand of that violence.

some tips are interesting; but I went 4 weeks traveling with much less clothes and make up than this; so it is hard for me to call that minimalist - or you did not plan to wash any clothes in 3 weeks maybe?
Ashlynne has such a sweet spirit it seems 🥰
get that sponsorship girl woooo!
I love your videos, and again It ll never be enough for me to recommend you Levi Hildebrand's video about Everlane
Bought second hand shoes once specifically tennis/van type shoes & got a plantar wart that took over a year and 1k worth of drs cryo treatments to remove. NEVER AGAIN.
(Edited bc my first comment was kinda harsh)
"...my Love, Beauty, and Planet shampoo and conditioner..."
Oof. Unilever...bleh. I get people don't know if a product is green washed or if a product comes from a shady company, (and I buy dandruff shampoo from P&G since it really works for me) but anytime I see someone buy from Unilever, and Nestle, I can't help to cringe.
They’re a company that greenwashes in their marketing- she might just not know
@@vampiricvirgo That's what I figured.

Ur making me feel a bit ashamed because I always end up packing more stuff than my requirements 🧳 I shall try to take ur vlog as an inspiration and work on a better packing experience. Thank you 🙏- Luv, Dolly 🙋♀️
You have such a lovely face 😍 + I love minimalist travel too !!
Hi very helpful thanks so much. love your channel 🥰 lol from Israel🇮🇱
Sounds like you where busy hope you had fun at your sisters wedding.
Thanks Cynthia!! I really had a wonderful time!
God bless your beatiful soul😍😍😍you're so sweet❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Awww you’re far too kind Sandra! 🤍
If you need to take one of the pills, how do you tell them apart? 🙈
They’re all different shapes and colors, so I just have a reference guide for them on my phone! 🤍
I can't wear skinny jeans, my stomach don't fit! Lol. (Not obese, just 12 lbs overweight.)
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
🤍🤍🤍
Hate jeans for travel. Not comfortable on the plane, hot in summer, cold in winter, and take forever to dry.
Are you a Instagram modeler??
Haha no, definitely not 😅
