This is brilliant! Thanks for making this! Long time user of Blender but starting to discover the power of the sculpting tools. The spline edge hardening technique is great! Will try to experiment it for myself.
Cool tip! Thanks! This is definitely a new technique I am going to try out. Do you re-topo the sculpted cars later with the excellent F2 addon? Subscribed!
@@Yokain7 It works. I am used to click the "draw curve" button in the stroke panel. That is broken. If you press enter, the brush will follow the curve.
Hi Baptiste, amazing videos. I never really got much into sculpting but your videos are very encouraging. I am in industrial design and just trough this might be a good idea to replace foam modeling or such. So I am curious about if I could poke you for some advice. Do you use Skype or such?
Hey Claas, thank you for your reaction. I too believe that scultping objects, like in my case cars, adds real value to the design proces. It is very easy and a lot of fun to do. I focus mainly on cars, because i just love them. You can always ask me anything. I do have skype, but then I have to boot in to windows enviroment. I also use google talk, or facebook messenger. Feel free to connect with me at bapsite at gmail dot com
Ah fantastic! BTW you can use web.skype.com/en/ in Chrome without installing Skype. You cannot share your screen tho. But for communication it works like the desktop app. My Skype ID is Claas Kuhnen
The curve trick is something to remember. Thanks for sharing, great job :)
I have more in detail video's about the curve trick
Sculpting a car? This is new. Great job!
this would change hard surface modelling for ever, you know this how they actually do it in real life, they sculpt the car then scan it in
@@taiwoolaleye6333 actually you need to retopo always to get the best results. This just helps in the design stage.
Awesome!!!

weeliano thank you for your support. If you want good results with the spline edge, make sure that in dynotopo you set subdivide edges.

weeliano nope, i never retopo, is dont like it. ;)
That's a very clever use of the curve tool to define hard lines in the sculpt. I'm going to have to adopt that method!
Thank you, but i've noticed that in 2.8 the curve tool does not work anymore... 😥
@@BaptisteG Oh that's a shame. I'm sure they'll get that sorted out soon though! Still only beta after all. Maybe file a bug report.

Thank you for this inspiring video.
I did not thought about using spline curves for sculpting yet.
Leonard Siebeneicher it is really use full for the pinch brush.
It looks like curve+pinch is a key technique to get hard surface sculpt done. I had a hard time getting clean edges without.
How does it work?
Very nice!!
This is a very useful technique. Thanks for sharing! Where can I see the final car model?
love your work thanks
wow, brilliant
thats cool
pls give us tutorial on hw you sculpt
I am working on a series of tutorials on hard surface sculpting.

Claas Kuhnen nice, just tell me when you need me to call
***** When ever you have time - I mainly work for my studio and am off work this week. I am Detroit Michigan EST zone.
Hey Claas, what is your skype handle ?
u use the scrape peak to smooth?? why?
Dhieen to me it is easier to use this to form the sculpt. I use regular smooth brush to smooth some more
Great idea but the video without narration is too hard to follow.
I know. These were my first attempts on making video tutorials. Thank you for your feedback.
