So, what do you think of Once Pattaya?
I almost moved to Serenty Naklua. It was a little too early in my search, and the price jumped in high season. That was my mistake. Then I considered Unixx Pratamnak- but the condo owner there never showed up w/ the keys after I paid first month's rent and security deposit in early December
Email me please. I'd like to hear more of the story behind the rental at Unixx. retiringtoasia@gmail.com
@@bijanbayne3259 Be careful there are huge rental scams happening in Pattaya/Jomtien. Make sure you have a signed lease in Thai and English, proof of identity and ownership before exchanging money.
Wow! That's unfortunate. So, what did you do after that?@@bijanbayne3259
Crazy high prices for so small cramped spaces!
Thanks for watching
Even for Pattaya, this is expensive for what you get.
17500 rent for a 28sq meter studio! That's LUDICROUS! Way too high.
Thanks for watching
@@RetiringToAsia You know all the negative comments are right. Good Luck selling those shoe boxes at those absurd prices. Geez, you bump into yourself trying to walk around those units
Check out older buildings for better deals like the View Talay buildings, there are 8 of them scattered throughout Pattaya and Jomtien. The newer ones are better for those looking for newer and more elaborate amenities like 4 and 5 tar hotel accommodations.
I don't see them as negative comments, just different opinions. I want to be very clear, I'm not selling ANYTHING. I'm just showing viewers what condos and homes, of varying sizes and price points, are available so people can better understand what it's like and what it might cost to live here.
@@RetiringToAsia Problem is...(and ive looked at a few of these videos of people living in Thailand showing what you can get property wise for rent in Thailand) you do come across that either its sponsored or some kind of affiliate...you dont come across as objective or say any kind of criticism of the place...it feels like your part of the sales pitch.... just imo....thanks. and tbh if you are not an affiliate then maybe you should be coz its free sales pitch for them and nothing for you?
5.849 MILLION BAHT for that shoebox. Are you kidding me!! Thats RIDICULOUS! Those doors that seperate the so called living room and bedroom should have been already dark. They shouldn't have to be frosted.
Maybe some like dark, some frosted, some clear, so they're left as made so buyers can customize. If they were dark, people would complain they wanted clear.
OMG..Half way through this video i was thinking about 2.9 Million baht...
So beautiful luxury condo 😮🤗😊👍❤️🎊🎉
It really is!
Out on 3rd road and still 17,500 Baht? I've been browsing condos for some time now and this seems high for a small 28m studio.
Seems all these newer projects are banking on you being sold on the amenities. I'm looking at retirement there from California. I'll be looking at older units with amenities.
@@TChalla007 I'll be heading to Jomtein area in March. Leaning towards the Sands Condominium. I like how close to the boardwalk it is for my morning 1.7 mile walk. There are three one bedroom condos from 52 to 67 square meters all three are 25,000 and under to 19,000 baht. Two studios are 35 square meters from 15,500 to 17,000 baht. IMO the location of this place can't be beat.
@@4WDJeepDriver Nice. I'll be looking for a 2-3 bedroom. I married and we like our space. I also need a room for my road bike that's on a trainer. I'm 6'6" and the bikes in the gyms are too small, but they work for my wife who's 5'9" I have a budget up to 80K, if it's really nice. 100sqm. I'm two years away. I'm hoping the market is saturated with all these new developments by the time I arrive.
This is one of the most popular buildings in town. Their original sales promotion came with a VIP Visa but that has ended.
Thanks for watching
There's one of these buildings in Vancouver with sliding doors. Many owners sold because they were constantly hearing the doors moving in their neighbour's condos and it was very annoying.
Thanks for watching
Doubt it.
I'm from Toronto and it might be as a result from the change in temperatures from cold winters and hot summers on the metal and I also know that sometimes the cushioning between the metal wears off and can make a shrieking noise. And lastly this could be caused by improper insulation between the walls of the adjoining unit. Bottom line: Due diligence on the builder before forking over that deposit on the purchase.
@@RetiringToAsia I wish they would do it to own one without requiring a Thai partner. I have the money but can't buy it due to no leasehold type of requirements
David, a foreigner CAN own a condo on their own. Condos are built with "Thai quota" and "Foreign quota". You can buy in those set aside for the foreign quota. You can email me retiringtoasia@gmail.com if you have more questions.
The video title is misleading, should have named it overpriced and not very affordable 👎
Thanks for watching
Great video and a nice place. That said you can buy a three bedroom house in Pattaya for that price.
There are a lot of variables that each buyer must consider for themselves. Thanks for watching.
Yeah not that many. Do some videos on well priced property in good locations. This video gives people a false sense of the value you can get in Pattaya. The only reason people sell units like these is that they are getting a 15% commission.
So, first, I've done many home and condo videos at different sizes and price ranges and more to come so please check those out too. Lastly, homes and condos are sold because people need places to live. While it's true agents make commissions, that's not why places are sold. I'm sure you meant well. Thanks again for watching and engaging with the content.
Lol 166,000 for a small room . Ill stay in the USA and buy a house for that pay
Good luck. Thanks for watching
Enjoy the content but can you put British Pounds on the price list as tens of thousands of Brits live or visit Pattaya? 👍
@asiatravels007 People from all over the world visit and live here. I can't post them all but I always post the THB, so it's an easy conversion on Google for everyone, and you get the latest exchange rate that way too. Thanks for watching. I'll try to put GBP on the next one and thank you for asking politely.
Google a conversion. Geez. I'm in the US. it's not hard.
Hey Michael
Thanks for the inspiration to retire!
Coming over in February for a month and then retiring in September looking for something on the baht bus route
Can you put me in touch with your rental agent?
Thanks for the vids!
Ray
Absolutely, shoot me an email. Thanks for watching
Everything is negotiable in Pattaya. Ignore the "one year minimum" requirement. The rental price is modestly above market price.. you are far from the beach and the action here. The price to buy is WAY above market. There is nothing special about this building that does not exist in other new builds much closer to the beach. Other than desperate Chinese investors trying to park their money outside of China... you will have a difficult time unloading units at this price point.
Thanks for watching
How to rent one of those? Through an agency or Airbnb, or something else?
For long-term rentals you can email me or Wayne. Our emails are innthe description. For short-term, AirBnB or any online platform is best.
I'd prefer something bigger... these will become suffocating after a while!
Thanks for watching
I will never buy pattaya condos become white elephant someday has no resale value and its safer to buy condos in cbd area BKK as a foreigner like me too guys kap !! 🙏
Thanks for watching.
Gradually you can see foreign people taking over Thailand. Russian, American's are the dominant one's. Where's there's money to be made these guy's will be there. Very expensive for such a small space!
Thanks for watching
Good video
Nice honest ,no BS agent which is refreshing.
Would you please advise the agents details
Thanks Chris,Australia
Shoot me an email, Chris, and I'll connect you.
Damn what a prices. I guess that's how they trick you. saying it's a 1 bedroom, while it's just a glass door in between.
No trick, that's a common style. Prices are up now for high season too. Timing is important.
Saw these in person a few years ago when they were being built ….. kinda expensive for the size. Very nice and modern but too small
Thanks for watching
First one has a lot of furniture for a small space.
Is there anything in Phuket ?
I'm sure there are, but Phuket is hours away from here. Next time I'm down there, I will try to video some. Thanks for watching.
Dude if there is a mattress and you don't like it, then you purchase one that suits your needs. There should be a mattress for that money surely?
In the rental a sliding door to keep out the cooking smells, then a dining table in the bedroom next to the bed?
Don't get me wrong nice enough condos, but there is much better value out there for sure.
Everyone has a different standard and determine what "value" is for themselves. Thanks for watching.
The balcony on the studio is quite small.
Thanks for watching
Too small... can you show a couple of older larger condos for sale which can be renovated?
I'll see what I can find.
That to me is where the value is
@@shaun7638 I agree, there’s plenty of upside in renovations.
@@BigTex00 Yes and i always think the areas are bigger, you get more bang for your buck...
@@shaun7638 Right! Also, I’ve seen renovation costs to be very close to the prices some of the smaller newer condos cost. I’m willing to trade off access to the beach for something 150+ sqm.
I think 40k Euros would be OK!
Rent is cheap why would anyone buy? No way i'm paying 3-4 mill baht for those shoeboxes. Never going to be able to re sell them unless you take a loss.
People buy to have a home for life and to make them their own, just like everywhere else in the world.
wow that is very expensive for a place you would rent for 300 USD
Thanks for watching
Good video but ive no idea why Aussie Dollars are on your price chart but theres no UK pounds? 🤨
There are ten times more Brits in Thailand and Pattaya than Aussies and always has been. There are more Brits than every country in Europe before the Russian mafia turned up. 🤔😕
I said similar earlier without the Russian bit 🤣🤣🤣👍
THB is there and you can covert to any other currency on Google. Thanks for watching
whaa whaaaa whaaaaaaa 😪
@@RetiringToAsia No thank you, I don't use Communist propaganda search engines. 👍
We are being ignored and discriminated against...
Not overly wowed, and where's the GBP!
Haha can't post them all on the screen. Thanks for watching
@@RetiringToAsia true but you're alienating a huge potential viewer base.
Sorry you feel that way. It's a simple conversion anyone can make on Google using the THB amounts and you'll get up to the second accurate conversion based on the current exchange rate. All of those foreign currency values on the screen are already stale.
@@RetiringToAsia I think you miss the point, of course Google is your friend, but you're saying 'sorry UK you're not part of my channel'. Look at the comment below, same!
@@MrFrobbo Geez!! Give it a rest. It takes two seconds to get a conversion.
Every comment on here are people that are broke! Lol.
Many budget minded folks, but not all.
It's expensive....
Once is one of the newest and most popular buildings in town.
This building really is puzzling I am staying across the street at best western and looks like very few people have decided to move in not many lights on .
I can’t understand why they are charging more to rent or buy here then at the spectacular Copacabana in Jomtien.
First off the name ONCE ? what marketing genius dreamed that name up ?
Location sucks no baht bus to city centre not walking distance to anything.
The finishings are cheap and the furniture basic and ugly.
Compare a 34 m unit at Copacabana right on the beach and the condo looking like 5 star hotel to this and you will scratch your head why these guys are pushing this property.
They used to offer the VIP Visa with purchase, but that program ended.
Shop around guys you can get beachfront At Riviera for this price. Be careful
Thanks for watching. Keep in mind that price is not everything to everyone.
how do you keep cockroaches out?
Keep your house clean and spray.
And the windows clean
Its so small.
Average size here
Great way to retire😂😂😂😂
Thought these were affordable? Lol
Everyone has a different budget and viewpoint. Thanks for watching.
Never buy in a foreign country. Just rent.
Everyone has their own opinion on what is best for them. Thanks for watching and engaging.
This is well overpriced i bought an apartment in pattaya several years ago for eighty thousand Australian dollars. With ocean veiws.
Prices do go up over the years.
Massively overpriced
Thanks for watching.
Too much....to far from see....everything....
Sorry but not worthet.
Thanks for watching
no value ...overpriced
