As i.m thai lived in Colorado for 34 years i.m 57 now planning to work for another 5 More years and then i .m moving back to Thailand . i m gonna miss the weather spring and fall here in Colorado. But Thailand is my home town. America give me a lot a wonderful thing. Never forget my life in the us at all.
I'm in Hua Hin now. I plan to move here from Jomtien when my lease expires. The beach is quieter (behind hospital and naval station), sidewalks more walkable, fewer motorbikes and cars, less bar centric. Enjoy your transition
Great video. With luck, after the honeymoon, true love is experienced! I appreciate your advice to adopt an "Oh, well" attitude! 🤷 I would have been very annoyed being in a motorbike accident that was entirely, clearly the other person's fault. Your advice is both good for your own mental health and follows the valuable Buddhist lesson. Accept and move on, grateful it wasn't worse. Cheers!👏👏👏
I love Kuala Lumpur - my wife grew up in Kuala Lumpur. I am a 72 year old widower now. I plan to move to Bangkok before the end of the year. I have to sort through 50 years of things we collected during our marriage. And visit my relatives before I leave.l
Very thorough report; excellent! I too am from Virginia and am planning to move to Thailand for at least a year early next year! That means selling my house, my furniture and my car. Like you, I have a generous source of dividend income that I won’t need to touch as I can rely on my SS alone. I’m really excited about the move and look forward to your condo reviews until I’m ready to take the leap!
I'm glad to hear your hospital visit went well. And it's true about how much care you will find at these Thailand Hospital. I've had MRIs and full chest ultrasounds and forgot about the price savings, I'd much rather deal with the Thai staff. By the way, Epipen in the USA is around 700 dollars, while about 68 dollars in thailand👍
Great update Michael. Having my own healthcare scare myself that has further delayed my plans to "Retire to Asia". Two montha ago I suffered a hypertension episode with a skyrocketing blood pressure and heart rate knocked me flat for a couple weeks. Finally schedueled a cardiologist and a neurologist through insurance to take a look at my heart and brain. My vision was bad before, but now my Peripheral vision is much worse. I have a large blind spot now at 11 O'Clock. Love your passive income discussion. I've built the perverbial three legged financial stool. Soon to turn 63 and I have a pension, dividends, and social security all working. I'm a fan of exchange traded funds paying a monthly dividend. JEPQ, and DIVO to name a few. My nest egg at Charles Schwab is small at only $320k, but pays me almost $1,800 a month (before taxes 😕 ).
Oh wow. Sorry to hear you're having health issues. Sounds like you've got your finances in order. I have some JEPI that pays monthly. I was having stress and BP issues before I moved but at that exam my bp was well withing normal range and my heart rate is way down too.
Thanks for the great informative information. Enjoyed your video! Sabi Sabi I am going to share my hospital story. We live in Ban Phai part time. Last year we went to a local water park and it was clear or not so clear they do not put chlorine in the water. I got a nasty ut infection. Spent four days in the hospital with another five days of follow ups with IV antibiotics. Total cost $300 USD

Great video… I’m arriving BKK mid July… I’ll spend a few days there then heading to Pattaya… This is my 2nd trip to Thailand… I spent 2 months there Jan./Feb. 2024, mostly in Hua Hin… I liked it there but wish there was a beachfront road like in Pattaya/Jomtien… Looking forward to checking out the Pattaya area for a long term stay… I’m also interested in the Bang Saray area, so this video was very helpful as your others have been as well… Look forward to seeing more and maybe running into you while I’m there… 🙏🏻
Could you do a video on the house? Both me and my partner are planning on moving from the uk next year and love the area. Pattaya and jomtien are to busy! Cheers
Hi great video. I'm coming fora long stay and maybe permanent. You said you would not drive in rain. Why not get driver taxi to take you on bad weather days. I don't drive so I will be looking for transportation all the time.
Yes, they're available and affordable. Didn't say I wouldn't leave the house. Hahaha. It's not worth a round trip taxi to go from her to Central Pattaya for language class.
Love the flies all over the food every where you go. It was hard for me to get past that. I was there recently and while driving down the street, saw a truck with meat piled high in a 100 degree heat, flies laying on top of the uncovered raw meat, as it headed to its local restaurant deliveries. The Thai people must have that protected gut bacteria from years of eating the street food
@@RetiringToAsia here , here !! Well said, keep up the great content. Be nice if you toured some rentals in the 2500$ -4000$ usd range then , possible?
I believe it's more important first, to be investing. Then, choose the stocks that fit your needs and objectives. I have several, I've talked about the actual companies in another video, that are paying 7% and higher. I started investing at 16yrs old so my portfolio has been growing for over 40 years.
are you invested in thailand at all? im waiting for the new visa changes to get down there and will be moving all my $ out of the usa. would like to stick it in thailand since the USD is collapsing. Any insight for local investment?

LOL the 2 folks that always give a thumbs down. Your vlog is one of the most likeable. I mean there are some bottom feeders out there doing Thai Video and even though I've told YT to "not recommend" they keep popping up.
