22:43 Forget the “Conner hates everything” crowd, man. Conner's opinions are always valid I feel. I don't always agree with him (like in this case), but his opinions are never baseless. They're always rooted in solid, well-articulated criticism. He’s never just hating.
You talk about a what a Superman version of this would be but I'm pretty sure that's just the Fleischer show. The Fleischer Lois Lane even appears in several scenes of this show.
Love to see an episode with the Peyton Riley Scarface written by Paul Dini. Also, regarding Alfred's secret, maybe he was hiding around the corner observing Joe Chill mugging the Waynes but was too afraid to do anything and hesitated when Chill ran.
I really dug this show. I haven’t cared for a lost of screen superhero stuff over the last few years aside from a few token pieces, and this felt like something from a time before. I have my complaints with some inconsistent things with the time period like some of you guys mentioned, but I loved the look and feel of the show.
Episode 2 was definitely my favorite. I loved the old Hollywood references to the little Europe set on the Universal studios backlot and the guy dressed as Lon Chaney's character from the lost silent film London after Midnight. And like Dan said, I thought it was really cool how their take on Clayface was inspired by Borris Karloff and Bela Lugosi. They took elements from both the original Basil Karlo Clayface and the third one, Preston Payne. I enjoyed the season overall, and I can totally see it improving with season 2. It's off to a solid start.
I had an idea that if they do a batgirl, they could just do Cassandra Cain, and use her bring in Ra's Al Ghul and the league of shadows because of her parents since Lady Shiva is tied that. Keep Cassandra's backstory of, running away as a kid after her first kill and ending up in Gotham, have her hospitalise 20 mobsters and have batman investigating and Shiva / the league arrive to try to bring her back into the fold. End it with her staying with Bruce since her upbringing won't allow her to fit in to regular society but wanting to do something noble and seeing helping Batman as a way to do that.
I wholeheartedly agree with Conner and Jayson here. This show was the equivalent of flat soda to me. No new ideas in 30+ years makes me scratching my head why we haven’t adapted other Batman material in almost 100 years of history.
Cap you actually should watch Kite Man. not the whole thing, but my wife LOVES the Harley show and I like it more than I ever expected to, the first two seasons in particular. but the Kite-Man show is actually an in disguise Bane show and I love their Bane and we've been watching it and he's hilarious. there was a back to the future episode where Bane uses a magic time travel toilet and accidentally ends up in the 80s and it's the best episode so far lol the rest of the show isn't very good but I sit down with her and tune out until bane shows up and then I watch it and that character is so damn funny in those shows. I was explaining Knightfall to her the other day and I love KF but wouldn't care to see a real adaptation but I would go bananas for one starring that goofy bane and batman from that universe.
@@Geekvolution I won't hold my breath but if you do the bane time travel one and the one where he gets a job at a themed chain restaurant are funny. I wouldn't bother with the rest. wait for a YT compilation of Bane scenes lol
It's good this isn't matching modern comics with modern comics internal struggles instead of fighting making me assume the crisis event will be what to eat on a Tuesday night.I find it annoying though how the setting or time period has to be the most interesting force part of a movie or show.
If you go clockwise from Conner to John (not including Cap), Conner-Dan-Austin-John, it's almost like a sequence of Conner slowly morphing into John.
This cracked me up so much this morning. Thank you lol
@@ianchandler270 No worries. I just noticed I said counter clockwise. Meant the other way lol.
@@sylentknyte I saw what you meant though lol

Solid take
1:10:30ish... Funny that Cap sounds like he loves how 'traditional' it is for Bruce to have a Califronia surfer style voice.

Well, you better hold on to it because no way in hell there's going to be a season 2😂😂😂
@WilsonT011 They already greenlit a season 2. It’s in production.

Cassandra Cain in this universe would be awesome
I want them to bring back music artists singing about Gotham City like R Kelly did as background music.
😂😮

Please dont block me, but CW´s Gotham Kngihts show from last year has a really interisting take on Harvey
Haha Don't ever show your face here again. But seriously, I'll finish it eventually. The pilot was hilarious
@@Geekvolution Thanks for answering and not blocking me 😅. Can you see this video that I´ve sent BTW? Its a clip from the show with film grain addded.
He really was. I liked his slow transformation and the little Two-Face we got.
@@GamerSlyRatchet1Omg spoilers. Now I'm blocking both of you.
Cap, are you going to watch/review Suicide Squad Isekai?
I forgot about that. I might give it a shot
Loved the big panel but I’m not sure about this Connor guy.
Yeah, he’s kind of an asshole

They killed two face purely to subvert expectations.
