As a teen I was all about my comics. I lost my way over the years, I love your page as I'm able to piece together storylines I've missed over the yrs. The art of storytelling is strong in this one, thank you for uploading these classics. With your knowledge, you totally could've been the keeper of the soul stone in the Infinity War films...
While I'm finishing my undergrad degree, traveling to and from school has become exciting and fun because of you, Rob. Im so glad you're around, doing what you do; really makes my day ♡
I recently came to a realization about Captain America, which is that ... IF the writers would actually utilize his most powerful ability ... he SHOULD BE the most powerful character in the Marvel Universe. Let me explain: First, what is his most powerful ability? It's the ability very few people ever think about and most don't even know about. The super soldier serum didn't just make Steve strong and fast. It literally turned his brain into what is essentially an organic super-computer. The reason his shield always comes back to him after bouncing off of half a dozen moving objects is because, in the moment he throws his shield, he does all the mathematical calculations to determine how to throw his shield with enough force and at the right angle to bounce off of those half-dozen MOVING objects and return to his hand. He has a photographic memory and a fantastic ability to calculate not only numbers, but human action. He has the ability to create fully formed strategies in an instant. This power, however, is constantly ignored by the writers because if the every utilized it to any significant degree, it would COMPLETELY change the character of Captain America. He could literally spend the day in a college library and end up with a PHD level understanding of physics. Give him another day to search the internet for cutting edge research articles and now he's on par with Stark, Richards, Banner, etc... Give him a week to really focus on honing his scientific knowledge and now he's the smartest man in the Marvel Universe by a WIDE margin. Next, think about how crazy powerful Dr. Strange is. Dr. Strange wasn't born with any powers or special abilities other than being smart. Magic in the Marvel Universe is something that can be learned. It's a skill. So, in walks Cap to the Sanctum Sanctorum and asks Dr. Strange for lessons. A week later Cap is the new Sorcerer Supreme. So we're two weeks in and now Cap is not only physically a super soldier, but skills wise he's in a position to create bleeding edge advanced armor and weapons that would make Stark Tech look like a 2X4 with a nail in it and the magical knowledge to do pretty much ANYTHING he wants. He's basically the good-guy version of Doctor Doom, but about a thousand times more powerful in every way. If this is just the first two weeks ... holy crap! What does week 3 look like?!
I low-key wanted it to be Ultimate Captain America who would finally beat Hydra Overlord Cap. I played it in my head like this: Hydra Cap: Surrender, you're completely outmatched, outnumbered, and..... ***Hydra Cap gets drop-kicked **** Ultimate Captain America: SURRENDER!?!?! @@derekskelton4187 No he wouldn't, he has openly said he hates Authoritarian rule in WWII and in Modern times. Even the first major villian in The Ultimates was an SS Officer named Kleiser(alien in disguise) whom Captain America proceeded to beat to a bloody pulp. The biggest difference between Ultimate Cap and 616 Cap is that Ultimate isn't afraid to kill if the situation calls for it and seeing as Hydra Cap killed countless innocent people.......he is as good as dead.

One of the things that I appreciate the most about Secret Empire is that it highlights the importance of Steve Rogers in Marvel. It's not just the symbol that he unmistakably represents; but what who he is as a character and a person.
You know what... Seeing the pictures of you guys all together, the 3 of you especially, seemed like a photographed right out of "Watchmen". Then it dawned on me, you guys are like superheroes in your own way. The way you bring these stories to us the normal citizens. You all do it in your own way, which is your own special power. You all have your own personal problems that you work through while still taking the time to send us these stories. It just reminds me of the heroes from watchmen. You guys won't be around forever, but these pictures will forever remind us of a time in history when you guys did and do what you do.
The way you tell the stories and your enthusiasm hooks a person, well done Sir, it's easy to put one of these on and listen to the whole video while working, keep them coming brother
Man you’re such a cool guy!! I’ve been following you for years !! Good stuff man.. When Avengers were in between movies I was all over your stuff. I appreciate it !!
This entire story is so cool it should be made into an actual MCU movie. Seeing Chris Evans becoming evil and then later wielding Thor’s hammer would be amazing to see in theaters or on any screen.
the show Agents of shield had an arc that was about as close to Secret Empire as we can get. Agents of Hydra I think It was called where they were in a simulation as to what the world would have been like had hydra taken over after New York got bombed in the first Avengers film
@@CryptidZeker415 the avengers assemble season 4 of the cartoon show was a nearly exact copy of inhumans being hunted by heroes and heroes having to choose sides
A difference between injustice and secret empire was pretty much the level of totalitarianism. Superman was a bad guy because he wanted to control everything, invigilation was through the roof and people were afraid of speaking out in thier own homes, while Hydra Cap is trully up for debate, because while still totalitarian, his rule allowed quite a lot of personal freedom while being ruthless to the criminals. There is an argument to be made about Cap and not one about Superman.
Thank you for putting in the time to do these videos. I still have alot of these comics but having them like an audio version is wonderful. I listen to them as I fall asleep and instead of music I actually listen to them while I weight lift because it keeps me way more focused than music. Again, thanks Rob. Would love to see a video for skating on the line Spidey issue and a talk about why it's such an important comic.
The ending of this arc only solidifies the issue with “trump” - It really IS true that you can’t place your faith in only one person. That’s what Castle did, and he realized he was wrong at the end.
If you scroll all the way to the end of the video, wait a second and then refresh it. That completly gets rid of every single add for that video during that particular viewing
My friend, I thank you for bringing these stories come to life. Love your delivery. Feels like a conversation/ discussion. Excellent job, keep up the great work!
Hey Rob. Great job on the video man. I don't necessarily regret taking a break from reading comics, when the whole Captain America saying "Hail Hydra" dropped, considering I had discovered your channel around the same time, to at least kind of keep up with things. But now that the story is done and I have a clear view of the allegories involved, I agree with you that Nick Spencer has written an epic masterpiece of a saga in Secret Empire, once all of the pieces have been set in place. Aside from comic books, I'm also a huge history buff and have over the course of the last few years, I've been studying and researching different books about American history. As well as some material, that would be considered based on "conspiracy theory" to people, even though it is based on documented facts. And while watching and listening to your video, I can definitely see where Nick was touching upon certain details of history, in developing Hydra Captain America to be an allegory. I'm pretty sure not a lot people, including comic book fans, are aware of Operation Paperclip, that brought into the United States former Nazi spies and scientists. The most famous being Wernher von Braun who was the head of the Apollo Rocket program. I can also see how Nick is influenced, by current issues and social conflicts going on in the country today, to express a deeper message of objective criticism about us, the audience in his story. I'm certainly going to have to keep an eye out for the trade paperback and read it brother. I'm glad I waited for you to put this together to watch it all the way through. If you're interested in a recommendation, definitely look for The Constitution of the United States of America; The Illustrated Adaption, I'm not sure who wrote and Illustrated it. I gave my copy to my daughter. But definitely keep an eye out for it, online or at a bookstore, you'll enjoy it. Peace, love and chicken grease, Rob.
I swear Rob is the best Boone and I mean no one can explain and breakdown like he's does ... And Man let me tell you something it's the only comics podcast I listen to

Steve Rogers is respect it not just for his leadership , but for his generalship . He is the best strategist in marvel comics, period! Just read the story of the builders as they move towards earth. His strategies made even the aliens look to him for leader ship!
I've been wanting to read the comics so bad since all the marvel movies came out. Thank you for all the work you put in man. I can't imagine how time consuming this might be but thank you for doing it, wish you nothing but the best
Bro for real, listening to how excited you get for some of these stories makes me look forward to reading them. I just finished Secret Empire #1 and soon as I finished it, I was like...I'm gunna go listen to you explain the story. So thanks you are doing some great work here my dude!
Here's the thing... That whole Kingpin deal in this story, is exactly what is going on in Mexico with the pandemic, that daughter of El Chapo giving food and other essential products to poor families, those animals from Cartel Jalisco whatever whatever promising to the people, that they would take care of them in this crisis, and the whole thing with the smuggler rings of medicine that have appeared, instantly remind me of this But anyway, I've been listening to Rob Non-Stop since this sort-of not really obligatory, but also not voluntary lockdown started in Mexico (Is a mess, is confusing, and it really isn't working, but that's not the point) I love this channel
So old man Logan has always been my favorite... unroll now. How awesome was that! Also this really showed me a deeper side of Rob and I was so impressed with his intellect. I would like videos about Rob and his life lol. If you listen he eagle dropped a lot if knowledge pertaining to life and showed great wisdom. 👍
Idk why it's so funny to me, but I've been on a comicsexplained binge for the past few days. Each video I've watched has been several hours long. But I just thought it was funny how every single major story like World War Hulk/Planet Hulk, Secret Empire, etc. have squeezed Rick Jones into their stories. Dude is always coming in clutch in some way lol
I really appreicate you taking the time to explain this storyline and including the panels ... I loved every moment of this 3h video ... I have been listening to this whole series of the last week! love this channel!

Rob you are such a gift to the comics community. New to comics this year and you've really helped in getting me up to date in understanding these stories. Thank you for what you do.
As much as i loved this the ending was rather rushed almost. At least by the art stand point. I think i have watched this like 3 times not at the same time but over all. Still have the same feeling when getting done with this. Idk amazing as always Rob!

See an ad every 5 minutes. Only for rob will I put up with it.
If you scroll all the way to the end of the video, wait a second and then refresh it. That completly gets rid of every single add for that video during that particular viewing
@JusticeGraceful it's the only way I can tolerate these ridiculously add heavy videos
@JusticeGraceful you're welcome my friend! Glad I could help!
I won't...
AdBlockPlus would like a word with you buddy.
Love that the channel has grown so much! A way to give back to you what you’ve given to us!
The story is soo good because it’s soo true. It wasn’t someone you would label a psychopath making those decisions. It was a hero.
I dont care what anybody says I love this fuckin story. I like stories like this, dark reign is one of my favorites as well
My friend, I thank you for bringing these stories come to life. Love your delivery. Feels like a conversation/ discussion. Excellent job, keep up the great work!
Hydra Cap* "i did nothing illegal"
The remains of las vagas* "am i a joke to you?"
Go piss yourself
Mmimmmmm
I have watched like I've watched like 12 hours of your content in the last 24 hours. These are all great!
This is one of the best channels on youtube
Came back 3 years later and listened again to this, rob your the man ! Keep changing the world brother! Boom!!!!!
I can’t hate this story I understand why people don’t like and but this story doesn’t deserved to be hated as much as it is
@WZRD i didn't like it because the ending was so easy to see coming
This story has become frighteningly relevant.
3 hours to kill, I'm at work, I've done everything already, I stay clocked in. LET'S BEGIN.
Really wish I had known about this channel as a delivery driver...used to listen to top 10’s on comics all day. This is way better
2019 hungry for more cap after end game found this, and just wow what an amazing storyline thank you for your time and effort.
I swear Rob is the best Boone and I mean no one can explain and breakdown like he's does ... And Man let me tell you something it's the only comics podcast I listen to
I've never been so happy to miss a series of videos. I couldn't have put up with those cliff hangers
Gabriel De Leon ikr
@@Shoub-kb9sk ?.
But that's Rob's favorite part! You can tell because when you go back and listen to the single issue videos he always laughs when he tells you they you have to wait to find out!
@@Fry47Thomas said "IKR" it means "I know, right?!" Basically he's agreeing with what was said.

I loved how into this you were. Best story I've heard in awhile and you brought it to life for me.
old old video popped up in my feed figured it was new &. clicked it went about my work. hear rob talking about killing benny from comicstorian and laughing. had to stop what i was doing then saw the date.
There is literally an ad for every second on this video.😂😂😂😂😂
Ad block, its free.
I see you're one of those people
Chubbyninja5 calm down. Pay attention to the laugh emojis. They mean something. Don’t be one of those people.
Almost none of them get an ad on them. He puts them as available slots but RUclips isn’t really giving him that many.
One of the best storylines that Marvel Comics have ever put out.
Your RUclips is very addictive I've been watching it all day I mean binge-watchingand for looking at you in these pictures I can tell when you speak on these books you're genuine you really like reading and doing what you do
Thank you for your long videos.
I use your "supercuts" videos to fall asleep. Not that they are boring, I just have a very hard time to fall asleep because of anxiety and depression and they help me to "not think" if that makes sense. The next night I find the part I last remember and go from there.
Thank you.
Ah secret empire the most controversial marvel event of the decade
Tevya Smolka This, Ultimatum, and One More Day are awful AF...
usc trojans1987 Clearly you haven't read my ex-wife wedding vows 😆
LOL
Also, Civil War II. The best part of THAT event? The tieins. Hercules' tie-in was WONDERFUL.
usc trojans1987 awesomely fun?
You look like Howard Jones the old vocalist from Killswitch Engage! Love your videos by the way I watch them everyday at work. I'm here for 8 hours so being able to learn more about the Marvel universe is amazing. I destroy the trivia events we have here in my home town. Thank you thank you for the knowledge!!!! You are the man
Still crzy seeing impactful Benny was on this channel and EM, RIP.
I was into comics when I was younger, loving your channel to listen to the stories while working etc.
Ketching up - my favorite food-related phrasing from now on.
Awesome material keep up the cool works
Been on ur channel nonstop for the last two weeks! Man, lemme tell you, MAAAAAN!
Steve Rogers is respect it not just for his leadership , but for his generalship . He is the best strategist in marvel comics, period!
Just read the story of the builders as they move towards earth. His strategies made even the aliens look to him for leader ship!
I hated secret empire but i love hearing rob talks with so much excitement.
Worth it !
I've been wanting to read the comics so bad since all the marvel movies came out. Thank you for all the work you put in man. I can't imagine how time consuming this might be but thank you for doing it, wish you nothing but the best
Planned to watch this over a few days...ended up findishing it in two sittings lol
Bro for real, listening to how excited you get for some of these stories makes me look forward to reading them. I just finished Secret Empire #1 and soon as I finished it, I was like...I'm gunna go listen to you explain the story. So thanks you are doing some great work here my dude!
"you know what, I'm just gonna explode" lmao not sure why that got me
Here's the thing... That whole Kingpin deal in this story, is exactly what is going on in Mexico with the pandemic, that daughter of El Chapo giving food and other essential products to poor families, those animals from Cartel Jalisco whatever whatever promising to the people, that they would take care of them in this crisis, and the whole thing with the smuggler rings of medicine that have appeared, instantly remind me of this
But anyway, I've been listening to Rob Non-Stop since this sort-of not really obligatory, but also not voluntary lockdown started in Mexico (Is a mess, is confusing, and it really isn't working, but that's not the point) I love this channel
3 hours!!? CONTENT FOR YOUR ARSE!
I really appreicate you taking the time to explain this storyline and including the panels ... I loved every moment of this 3h video ... I have been listening to this whole series of the last week! love this channel!
Dude you are a fkn machine bro.. content content content...Love it.. Love you..
You fanboying out in the beginning put a smile on my face, thanks Rob
I enjoyed Secret Empire
I had issues with it yes. But I overall enjoyed myself....but......
DO SAM WILSON CAPTAIN AMERICA!!!!!
I always pass my comics down to my kid or my friends kids. I love listening to your channel to remember these great stories
Am I the only one who hears Hulk Hogan's intro theme when classic Captain America appears?
Fuck yes!
I watch these at work. So I’m pretty much using it as a podcast. And I tell ya, sooooon as his voice starts off all excited my blood get to racing cause I know I’m bout to go on a crazy ride 😂💪🏾 you’re goated my boy
Love these full story vids.
Rob leaving us big cliffhangers: 😈 me watching the playlist: 😂 thanks funny
Rob you are such a gift to the comics community. New to comics this year and you've really helped in getting me up to date in understanding these stories. Thank you for what you do.
not being able to afford comics , I love these long form videos. On top your enthusiasm gets me HYPE
As much as i loved this the ending was rather rushed almost. At least by the art stand point. I think i have watched this like 3 times not at the same time but over all. Still have the same feeling when getting done with this. Idk amazing as always Rob!
Dude that’s awesome you got to meet the writers. I literally laughed out of happiness when you said that. Congratz
Cap is a complete savage in this story and I think it’s amazing
