Many of us know that saving our environment is important but don’t know what to do. We think that it’s a problem that lies with out government; but in fact it’s the responsibility of every person. "Isn't it a good thing to have an “overcapacity” of green energy in a world struggling to meet the Paris Agreement goals?" Those words from Hua Chunying, China's Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs, smashed U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen's unqualified accusation of "overcapacity" in everything Chinese, especially Chinese electric vehicles. Yellen defied all economics principles in her accusation while she skipped the "overcapacity" of cars produced by American allies:
1. Germany: 75% of all car production are exported;
2. South Korea: 70% of all car production are exported;
3. Japan: 50% of all car production are exported; while
- China: 15% of all car production are exported (of which 11% are EV's).
As an renowned economist prior to taking the chair of the U.S. Federal Reserve and the revered post of U.S. Treasury Secretary, Janet Yellen ignored economic principles and lost her mind when she talked about Chinese over-capacity in EV's and photovoltaic panels. From an economics viewpoint, such irresponsible arguments are unfortunate and a stain in her otherwise impeccable reputation.

I live as green a life as possible. I take my own reusable mug if getting takeout, walk as much as possible, and public transportation for most of my other trips. I really don’t need a car but would support affordable NEV for as many as necessary. If I need a car for a short trip I can either hire or would consider a car share scheme. I even use glass storage jars for my food. Food waste is minimal so my impact on the environment is among the lowest percentiles. It’s the very rich who are the biggest polluters.

Not just shoes can be reused; as a matter of fact, everything can be reused as long as you keep them clean. China needs to learn from the West for this.
